Congrats on your Green Card. Hopefully we're only a few weeks behind you.

He will not be allowed to work till you file for your AOS and EAD. The cost is $1010. The EAD is a work authorization card he can use till his Green Card arrives. It takes about 60 days on average. Still waiting for ours.

You need to apply for the SSN within the first few weeks after he arrives. No later than two weeks before his I-94 expires. This will allow him to get a Drivers license and open a bank account

Patience was always the hardest part for me. Paying for everything was a close second. My best advice is to make a copy of everything. You will need the documents again. Take as much as you can to the interview. Photos and financial information, e-mails, and anything you might think is relevant. Once he gets here get his SSN as soon as possible. We waited too late.

I did get a touch today. I am hoping it is just them mailing my information to the NVC. I called the NVC today and they had not received my information yet. I didn't expect it. Just hoping.
