  1. WOW!!!!!! I'm really happy for you too. It all paid off at the end. And as you said....if they don't answer in 30 days someone is going to spend some vacations in the fridge.

    Congratulations to you.

    PEACE..............

FYI to all April Filers - I called the USCIS today and they said that the best case scenario (assuming the application has no RFEs) for reviewing and approving petitions filed in April was 3 months from now (middle of October). She reiterated, as other people have already stated here, that they are focused on December applications at the moment.

    Middle of October??? Grrrrrr!!!!!!!

SvenSki, if you add your timeline to VJ's database, it will not only allow you to view an estimation as to when your case will be approved, but also help in adding to the statistics used for the estimates of the rest of us. :)

Yes I plan on adding it soon..just need to spend some time and figure out how to do it ;)

  3. Hi .. kinda new here and not entirely familiar with this website yet. This is my first post so please bear with me if I am asking a question that has already been addressed elsewhere in this site.

My question is that I got my NOA1 from the VSC for my I-129F (K-1) on April 14, 2009. I checked the processing timeline on their website (last updated last month) and it shows that it is processing November 2008.

Does this mean that they are now taking 7 months? I was expecting a response from VSC around mid July (90 days after NOA1).

Should I now expect to hear from them in August? Any input will be appreciated.

    Thanks in advance!

    Hello svenski,

First of all, welcome! we are here to help each other on this journey. Now, to respond to your question here are some key things that you might already know, but just in case:

    - USCIS processing time is a rough estimate of the last case they are working on; however, there might be some people who are still waiting for their letters eventhough they applied before that November date.

    - As of right now, using VJ, VisaJourney's Igor's List, as database... they are approving mostly February fillers, finishing some January ones, and starting some March ones...

    - Your expected wait time is very much depended upon how lucky you are... there is no way of knowing for sure if your case will be processed before, on, or after the expected time shown on your timeline on VJ, remember is just an statistical study.

Using those statistics: March => July, April => August, May =>September, etc... so using that rule of thumb, you should be getting yours by mid August.

Lastly, if you plan on calling USCIS to complain about not receiving your approval yet, they will claim that they are working on November cases, so they will make you wait at least that timeframe before they do anything.

I am pretty confident that most people will get their approvals within the 4 months after NO1... but we wont complain if we get it before :innocent:

    Good luck on your journey!!!

    Ok thanks Eltemp!
