  1. Current probation combined with previous DUI conviction can be a issue. How long is your probation? If you are not able to consult an attorney, I would suggest that you consider waiting until the probation period is over if possible.

Probation for a year I believe, which puts me another year behind. I read a lot of questions about DUI cases on different forums and it seemed like it shouldn't cause much problem. I guess I will have to contact someone, it's unfortunate bc it will cost me few hundreds dollars.

  2. Hey everyone.

I'm getting ready to put my paperwork together but I'm not sure how to deal with my criminal record.

I had DUI in 2007 when I was on J-1 visa. First I got Probation before judgment, quickly changed into conviction because I had to leave the country. I got green card in 2009 and i removed the condition in 2011. Is the DUI going to affect my naturalization application at all?

I also got 2 speedin tickets in last 6 months. They are paid off but one is showing up as a probation case. Is probation for speeding ticket considered a lack of good moral character?

    Thanks for help.

  3. I think entire process of roc is a waste of our time and our money in first place... Many of immigation laws are either not understanded or different interpreted even by immigration officers... Before I left for vaccation I scheduled infopass to get my passport stamped. My request was refused I was told that extension letter would be just enough to travel abroad and back. Officer also recommend taking photocopies of the letter in case it was lost during traveling so I would be able to get back to states...

  4. I am surprised your requested were actually processed. My agent said that when he tried to place a service request he received message from Vermont that my case was not outside the processing time. Apparrently my case has still 16 days ahead to cross the timeframe (even that it's been almost 7 months). I was told to call back after 16 days since today. But he also said that there is possibility that if I called tomorrow 16 days could have changed into 10, 5 or even 20 days ????? It clearly makes no sense to me so I am not going to worry about it

  5. Interesting conversation here... I don't think there is any point of calling 1800 line - REALLY don't bother - I would guess you will get the same answer like I did - February 24th was the timeframe for them when I called yesterday (I didn't have any hopes anyway). I am wondering if they update the website and what date wil replace magical feb 24th this month. I do believe most of April fillers will get approved by the end of November though but I might be wrong since we have a big holiday coming up!

Congrats to approved ones! Hopefully next week will bring us more.

I pozdrawiam rodaków jeśli tacy tu są!!! :D

  6. Hey everyone! Just wondering if there is anyone who traveled from Baltimore abroad with extension letter. I read that I should be fine in general but i am just wondering if BWI officers are familiar with our letters. Also we are flying to cancun in mexico so I don't really know how the officers over there will react to my papers. All I know is that I won't get new card before we leave-this friday, and Baltimore local office won't stamp my passport either- I have already tried that in June - was told they wouldn't do it until next year for some reason... Oh and I am April filler so I will have to wait probably until next month to get some news from Vermont. Thanks for help.

  7. Yeah you are right...If you read your NOA carefully,it tells you everything.. Its actually "application number" and its on the Bio letter...and that is the number you get to see your updates not the receipt number from NOA..and when you check your status on USCIS...the removing of condition form its called CRI89 not I-751 what we initially filed..so here we go...

o ok i guess i didn't read it carefully... thanks for poining it though
