  1. Hi everyone. I received the Noa2 today. It says approved. However, within the document it says " The above petition has been approved, and forwarded to the listed consulate."

However, I don't see any consulate listed on the document.

I would contact the NVC and ask for the consulate information

    Another question:

It has the "valid from" dates in the upper right: 08/13/2009 to 12/13/2009. Just to be sure, this is the date by which we must do the interview at the embassy, right?

    Right

    Thanks for any help.

Oh, one more thing. In the timeline it says NVC Received and NVC left. What do those mean ?

You mean VJ members' timelines right? If so, it simply means the date USCIS forwarded to the NVC and the date the NVC forwarded to the consulate

  2. where can i add my email address so they can send me updated through email. thanks again for all your help

When you get the NOA1, you can go to the USCIS website and put the receipt number in to check status. I believe it then gives you the option to register to receive email notifications.

I don't really have an answer to the first part of your question, but the guides may be helpful.

    Good luck!

  3. I'm reading somewhere on this website that there is a 4 month time limit (ack somewhere? can't find it. my fiance said it was somewhere)

as in, from the time the petition is approved.. to obtaining the K-1 in hand.

It is on the NOA2, right under the section where the beneficiary's name is listed - it tells you the exact approval and expiration dates (i.e., valid from xxx to xxx). But like Kathryn41 says, there is no need to worry.

    All the best...

  4. My question here is ... do you need to send the "originals" of boarding passes, hotel receipts etc?

Thanks for any help, we appreciate it!

I did not send originals of boarding passes, e.t.c. - Just copies in addition to copies of entry/exit stamps.

Sorry about the RFE. They probably just misplaced your documents.

  5. Hi everyone,

I just wanted to take the time out to address a small issue, please remember that not everyone has the privileges and opportunities that we do here in the US, whenever someone asks a question pertaining to their situation please refrain from being NEGATIVE  , I brag about this site all day and how much you guys are helping me with my petition but a friend of mine asked me to post a thread and most of the feedback was NEGATIVE, some people did not even read the post all the way they assumed I was referring to myself  , we are here to help either from personal knowledge and experiences or educational background please do make this site out to be a "LION'S DEN".

    Thank you

I really appreciate you guys!

    DITTO!

  7. Isn't Nigeria the country where I get all these unsolicited emails from the friendly bank president who wants to send me $2million dollars, if I just send him a goodwill token $7000 deposit to activate the account? Very generous offer, but I just don't have an extra $7K laying around.

Good luck with your petition. You probably want to try and make your relationship look serious. Take lotz of pics!

    ps

Please say hello to the friendly banker there for me!]

There is no need for the snide comments. If you have nothing nice to say, then please do not respond and keep it to yourself.

  8. If you are filing a K1 then for interview purposes you would use her local office. Not yours. You have to submit to either the Vermont or California Service Center depending on where you live. I'm thinking Minnesota goes to Vermont but I've been wrong before.

Minnesota goes to the California Service Center. That's where I sent mine. The info is also on the I-129F instructions that can be printed from the USCIS website.
