  1. My husbands wallet was stolen as well including his Green Card, we have filed for a replacement butt are still waiting after 2-1/2 months. His drivers license was in his wallet as well so the driver license place willnot give him a replacement without showing his greencard papers again or proof he is legally here. Will the I-551 stamp allow him to get a replacement license as well?

  2. Hello all, we got an RFE for my husbands birth certificate. His birth certificate is a Sworn Affadavit of his birth and this is what you get when your orginal birth records are unvailable. Also his baptism records were burned as well so that was another option of birth certificate. However, the document that he submitted has always been declared his brith certificate and wasnt an issue when he went through the process at the embassy so we dont know why it is an issue now. There is no way he can get any other proof of his birth. Please advise what we need to do and is it possible that we can get the Senator involved? If so how do I do this? We are in Georgia. Thanks!

  3. I'm a US Citizen and filed AOS for my father. I submitted the following forms and fees:

    I-130 $355

    I-485 $1080 ( $930 + $80 Biometrics + $70 Department of State I-864 Affidavit of Support Filing Fee)

    I-765 $0

I just got 3 Denial letters today and can't understand why:

    1) I-130 "The check amount is incorrect or has not been provided. The correct filing fee is $355."

    2) I-485 "The check amount is incorrect or has not been provided. The correct filing fee is $930. Each applicant between the ages of 14 and 79 must also include an additional $80.00 fingerprint fee."

    3) I-765 "The check amount is incorrect or has not been provided. The correct filing fee is $340."

Can anyone see why my filing fee is incorrect? Maybe the $70 Department of State fee for I-864 should be written on a third separate check instead of lumping together with the I-485 check?

I also can't figure out why they are asking $340 for the I-765 when their instructions say there is no fee when filing concurrently with I-485.

    Frustrating!!!

Make sure your check is written exactly like this:

    http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/menuitem.5af9bb95919f35e66f614176543f6d1a/?vgnextoid=3850a99ba78af110VgnVCM1000004718190aRCRD&vgnextchannel=db029c7755cb9010VgnVCM10000045f3d6a1RCRD

  4. That is a generic answer.

How did you write out the amount on the check?

There was one case posted here where they sent it back because they stated "cents" instead of the usual "00/100".

Also - was the check signed and dated?

Oh ok, On thousand ten dollars__________ When there are no cents, I just mark a line

Also please help me verify the mailing address ofr Georgia residents. I wanted to check that as well. Thanks

  5. I am so frustrated right now...we sent our AOS package a month ago to the USCIS and just recieved our package back in the mail on yesterday stating that the check amount is incorrect! Well this is not right, our check is for $1010 this is what the directions said it would cost and it also ststed that we could send our work authorization and advance parol with it at no charge. So why did they send our paperwrok back saying we didnt pay the right amount? I called the customer service and listen to them read through this STUPID script just to tell me after 10 minutes that yesthe filing fee is $1010. Dummies

  6. I sent my adjustment of status 10 days ago Feb 20 and it arrived the 22nd at 6 am. How long does it normally take from then to have the check cashed and or NOA1

According to my delivery reciept they recieve min e on Feb. 9, they havent cashed my check or sent me a letter yet. I called the USIC and they told me it could take up to 30 days, but there are plenty of people that get there letter in the mail after a week...I'm beginning to get worried!!

  7. Hi Pman's wife,

My dear do not give up or be depressed. Really thank God for Pman's health and life and also yours. Lets pray together for God to give you the patience to deal with this difficult ordeal. Prayer changes things and God knows best and why certain things happen in our lives.

I have come to realise that. When my petition got denied in 2008 at the USCIS stage, girl i was devastated and did not take it light but i told myself at the time after i had prayed everyday about it for months i came to realise it was all good it happened that way due to some personal reasons. God's time is always the best and we will understand it when it comes. You are my VJ sister and friend trust me i am not saying that because i have my visa approved. I have been a denial stage before, that rejection was not cool.

Yours is not denied thank the lord its just a delay. I will say a prayer for you for strenght and patience.

PLEASE LETS PUT OUR TRUST IN GOD. HE WILL ALWAYS SUSTAIN US. MAY GOD RICHLY BLESS YOU WITH AN ABUNDANCE OF HEALTH, LIFE, PATIENCE AND STRENGTH.

    Luv Effieb

    Amen..

  8. Sounds like a short-sighted heartless ba~tard.

Did you send him any money?

It sounds very much out of the ordinary, going through the trouble to scam someone for a K-1 and not entering US soil.

I have a feeling he IS on US soil but just hasn't told you exactly where.

He'll definitely be illegal so don't waste time reporting him.

Ok let's be smart, he i snot in another country because they wouldn't by any chance let in another country with a U.S. visa. So I'm willing to bet, "HE IS" in the USA, but with someone else he knows. Call the USCIS for starters, ask them how you can find out if he entered the U.S. that stuff is recorded in the system.

  9. I know a couple people who's interview got re-schedules and they still went on the original date with their original interview date email and was interviewed.

  11. My fiance just got his visa approved today!!!!! God is so faithful       He stated that they were so nice to him at the embassy, this must be the beginning of new things in that place, He was only asked a few questions like "where kind of work does your SO do for a living?, Who are these in the pictures, what is her uncle's name, have you met her parents and have they approved your relationship? describe where the pictures were taken? he said he didn't even spend more than 5 mins during this interview, the lady went inside and came back with a paper for him to go pick his visa up next week. Thanks for everyone who have been of tremendous assistance during this phase of our journey, counting on your assistance later and for all that is still waiting, yours is the next testimony in Jesus Name. I have been praising God all morning.

    CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!!!!

  12. That is WONDERFUL!

 Hello All, We (My Fiance ) Recieved a phone call today from Lagos Embassy ,stating that he has another interview Appointment for November 10,2009 @ 1:00pm, After being placed on Admin Review @ his 1st Interview Appointment on September 08,2009, Please all of You , Keep us in your Prayers That we shall be approved for our Visa ,We Remain Blessed!! :star::star::star::star:
  13. I'm so filled with Joy! My fiance passed his interview today! Thank You Lord! I didn't get to speak with him very long. But he said they really drilled him on a lot of questions, Said the interview took about 20 minutes total from the time he sat down to when he got up. He picks up his visa next week and said some people were being denied because they didn't know some of the answers to the questions about their fiance family. Eventhough the consulate doesn't know if the answers are correct such as your siblings names, they are looking to see how confident you are when answering. They also stare at their computers as if they actually have their names in fron tof them that's reverse psychology.

  14. Please, can someone tell the next step, am a little confused. I received an approval in August, the file was sent to Lagos and the NVC said the embassy mailed out packet 3 on the 1st of September, we have not received any packet yet. I have sent them numerous emails, but there had been no response. I would like to know:

    1. is it necessary to wait for the packet or this can be downloaded, filled out and submitted along with police report?

    2. can the medical exam be done without arrival of the packet 3?

    3. How are interviews scheduled? Is it after the arrival and submission of packet 3 or it comes with the packet 3.

I will appreciate all the information I can get. Thanks in advance for your help.

After Lagos rec ur case from NVC they will email you with your interview date and packet 3. It takes from 4 to 6 weeks after they rec your case to email u with this info. You can't get the medical without the interview letter, they want to see that. They seem to ignore our emails unless they respond back with a general response. U pretty much just have to wait for them to send ur date. Also, please know that no packet will be mailed to you...they will email the petitioner the interview info and you can always call Department of State to see if your interview date has been scheduled.

  15. Hello All: We Finally got an interview Date & Time ,Via E-Mail @The Lagos Embassy/Consulate for September 8, 2009 @7 am , Thank You My Lord Jesus Christ & All the help i got from you guys , Thanks :D

CONGRATS :dance: sending my wishes for a successful interview

You know, the way the Lagos Embassy is handling these interview dates is completed crazy! I don't understand their process and you would think they would send interview dates in the order that they rec packages or so but they don't. I just can't figure out their system!

Finally, Finally, Finally......We Got Our Interview Date! Thank You Jesus!

congrat. but can you help me out my fiance case has been approved, since 6/18/09, still no interview date yet ,i mean im fed up about the whole thing very frustrated, now i only have till 10/18/09 for this case pl,s help what can i do to get ,the interview date for her, i had E- mail several times no response, i made many call still no result,

You should get contacted soon, it is not unusual for the embassy to not respond to your email because we all go thru that. They are not going to email you your interview date unti they get good and ready and it doesn't matter that you rend date is Oct. 18 because the interview they orginally scheduled for me was after my end date of Sept 30. Make sure you are emailing them from the email address they have on file and make sure youare including your case number. Also you can call the Department of State to check on your case. Other than that there is not much you can do. A couple people I know didn't get their interview date until 3 weeks before the day they were to be atthe interview. So just try and hold on.

  16. I wonder what is going on at the Lagos Embassy! My interview date was originally the 1st of October, but I received an email today saying to disregard my previous interview date and that another date will be scheduled at a later time, but they never stated what the new interview date would be. This is crazy, these people can't be that backed up! Welll there goes our hopes for a October interview down the drain!

October 1 is a holiday, this is probably the reason your interview was rescheduled. I remember last October 1, my fiance had his tourist visa interview and they rescheduled him a few days later....I would take MrsJibowu's advice and call Dept. of State. I hope they reschedule within a couple days for you! I'll keep you in my thoughts!

Thanks all, but I called the DOS on yesterday and they said that it has been uploaded in their system that my interview date will be rescheduled but as of now no new date has been appointed. I will just keep checking.

  17. Oh my gosh! I am so crazy confused with this all right now. I've been waiting for our interview date, assumed we would hear something any day, but now, re-scheduling interviews that you didn't know you originally had? Wow! I MUST find out our interview date! The NIV says that I have to contact the embassy directly, does anyone suggest a way to phrase your email to get their attention and get a response from them?

Too be honest, you can phrase your email anyway you want to. They are still going to send you that same automated reply that "Your visa has been uploaded into our system and we will contact you when a interview date has been assigned" . You kinda have to just wait until they email you with the date. I'm not familar with the NIV, but you can always contact the NVC (National Visa Center) and they will tell you if anything has been updated in the system.

  18. Later ?? They already are sitting at the end of the validity of the petition. To push it out further is terrible.

I know, I don't understand, I guess the only thing I can do is keep emailing them and try calling the NVC. I have heard of them changing your interview dates but not to this extreme. Has anyone else ever had this done to them?

  19. I wonder what is going on at the Lagos Embassy! I sent an email to the lagos consulate last week asking if they have received my packet since when i tracked it on DHL website, I saw it was sent out by NVC on August 26th and received in lagos on August 31st but they emailed me back after giving sending me countless FAQ responses that they do not have my record on their files yet, i called DOS this morning, spoke to a very nice lady who called NVC to find out when my packet was sent to Lagos only to tell me it was sent electronically on August 26th and mailed out same day so my question will not be does the DHL mail take 2 weeks to get to Lagos or do they just have alot of paperwork to process which might be the reason my case number is not on their records yet? I hope we all get our interview dates soon and favor and success all the way.

Yes, it usually takes a month before they say that they have recieved your physical case. Personally I think it's a bunch a bull especially when we have proof that it was delivered by DHL on a certain date and then they continue to tell you that they don't have it. I got really frustrated one time and emailed them and said "I know my package was delivered, it was sigend off by_______" .....lol.... of course they didn't comment on that but sent the regular they haven't recieved it yet email.

wow this is really sad. Are you saying US embassy in Nigeria are the ones that will schedule the interview date? I called NVC yesterday, and they said i should call back on the 22 of sept.

  21. Hi everyone. Not good news here. My fiance had his interview today at the Lagos Consulate. He was put in Admin review. Now, he read me the letter and he didnt read a reason just that was under review and they would email or call him within a few weeks to a month after they complete the review. He is going to scan me the letter later after he gets closer to home. But I do want to share this with you guys what royally pissed me off (sorry). We met through a friend of mine whose is married to a guy there, who is Abbey's friend. Long story short, we no longer communicate with the couple as they caused some issues in the past and we decided it was best that we dont associate with them. It was related to stupid childish issues such as jealousy on my former friends part related to my relationship with Abbey versus her's with her husband. Anyway, I know they filed a few years ago and was denied and they wouldnt really tell us why. Only something about a co-sponsor for financial reasons. So, today the officer asked Abbey who Brenda was (my former friend). He told him who she was, the one who we met through. He then asked Abbey was her husband in the states yet. Abbey told him he doesnt think so as they were having some type of problems with filing. Then the officer asked him if we decided to get married because they got married. WHAT THE?!?. These people were married way before we even met, by at least a couple of years. And their relationship should have absolutely no bearing on ours. People cant meet through a friend anymore? Should I have lied on my I129 when it asked how we met? Should I have said the net? What kind of craziness is this? The officer didnt even ask Abbey to see any of our pics, emails, phone records, chats. The only question he asked him about us was I married before and Abbey told them yes I was married before. The officer then just gave him a peice of paper regarding the Admin review. I have contacted my senators office who helped me before when my case was at USCIS. They are going to check into this.

Has anyone ever been put on Admin Review in Lagos and came out a winner so to speak. My head is pounding so hard right now. Im so frustrated. I tried to call the Embassy and of course they never answer the phone.

This was definitley an unfair interview, I will be praying for you all.
