  1. Hi

Having had my healthcare coverage start the turn of the year, I thought things were fine.

But today, I had a letter through stating that my pre-existing conditions (asthma, acne) would not be covered for the first 6 months because they say I didn't have any previous coverage. I explained that as a UK citizen, healthcare is a given but they have so far refused to accept this as I don't have proof of having had coverage (except for a Tax Credits exemption card for my dental).

Has anyone else encountered this problem, or have any advice?

Thanks for any help guys & gals,

    Dyfed

  2. Hey guys

I am the beneficiary - UK Citizen on a K1 but now married - hence AOS.

My wife is my sponsor, but her father is co sponsor as she is a student, so he is essentially my sponsor in a way because she provides no financial help to the table if you get me.

So does this mean my fiancee fills in I-864 and then I-864A for her father? Once i have this clear, I have other questions with some of the sections - nothing major, just don't want to get it wrong when I send it in.

Thanks in advance for any help guys!

  3. So do you need to REDO the Affidavit of Support even though its exactly the same as the one they have?

    Dyfed

Many of the data will 'carry over', but it's a different form altogether.

If you are in 'current tax year' for the I-134 and your employment hasn't changed, then ya, simply put all from the I-134 onto the I-864, along with da tax forms, tax transcripts, assets (if used) , and the employment letter.

Pay attention, though - if you skimped on the I-134 - its a bit more data on the I-864.

    Hey thanks -

just didnt realise they were different because I hadn't actually got to doing it - partly because I won't be doing it at ALL, because my father in law is my sponsor. He didn't skimp on any info, we have 2 lots of photocopies of the original Aff of support and all tax forms etc (which i was informed about afterwards.. !).

    Thanks again

  4. Yes you do, the I-864 is not the same form as the k1 affidavits. You need to send all updated information with the AOS ie updated paystubs updated letter of employment ( if you need one ) as well as the tax returns and the w-2s etc.

When u say updated info, u mean the fact that I will be added as a dependant? I can understand updated paystubs, so I guess I'll go with that - thanks.

yes, i agree with you. i tried booking direct with BA.com as i have done in the past and the prices where ridiculous. plus i dont fly that great, so i always take direct fligts. same with virgin and american airlines.

I got an STA ticket for £319...not as cheap as yours but still...definatly better off then anywhere else.

I live in london so flying out of heathrow and heading to Boston. Apparently, its starting to get quiet cold up there..no surpise..

but Portland....thats the 'rainy' state right?

I'm living in WA state, can be rainy yes but they've had an awesome summer... so we'll see! :)

I'm from Wales so go figure!

I did a post about it a few weeks back - check out statravel.co.uk....

Well??? How did it go? Wasn't today the big interview day???

    APPROVED OF COURSE :P

Leave the UK a week 2moro!!!

    WHOOP!

  9. just to let u know I've added my consulate review! :)

    Good review

So now they have started numbering the K-1's as I-000, it used to be a 4-digit # starting with 5XXXX. Interesting. Did you get a young male American CO, or was it a blond-haired woman? Just wondering if the same people are still the interviewers from when my fiance interviewed...

Was a youngish guy called John Connolly for the first part then the CO interview was a lovely blonde lady.

and yeah, all Immigrant visas begin with an I, NON-IMMIGRANT an N and i think there were E's too..

  10. Anyone receive packet 4 recently (September 09?) Just wondering how long it's taking these days.

I know you're aware of how quickly I got mine - but from what I can gather, they issue dates in accordance with when u intend to travel - so make sure u add a cover letter stating your intent to travel or wedding date etc....

    :)

  11. Go here and fill out the details. It is free to do and without it you can't board the plane. Once done lasts for 2 years. You either get approved straight away of they will let you know in 3 days. They say you can do it up to 48 hours before you fly but better sooner than later.

    Hope this helps.

    Luke and Deanna

Yep Luke and Deanna are bang on. I registered my Aunt and Uncle today for my wedding in December - got authorisation instantly and is valid until 2011.

I filled one in back in March for when i travelled - u still have to fill forms in on the plane but thats the usual protocol anyway.

Like L&D said before, just fill it all out online and you're set...

    Dyfed :)

  12. Hey Guys & Gals!

Ok, so I've been instructed by the Embassy to fill out Part II of the DS-230 so I'll need to fill it out, but apart from that am I right in thinking all I need is....

ALL copies of NOA1 thru to Interview date letter.....

Letter from Britt - updated intent to marry

    Police Certificate

    FULL Birth Certificate

2 x USA Size Passport Pics

    Actual Passport!!

    A.O.S and Evidence

    Evidence of ongoing relationship

    Receipt/Form from Medical

I am going to take copies of my packet 3 that I sent to them also, just incase they have misplaced any bits - and also documents from the original I-129F Application

Any ideas of things I could take extra or am basically missing?

    Thanks in advance !!
