  1. Would someone who knows how to do it, please add April 13 as the approval receipt date for member lovealways? There was a message from him/her today informing us of the approval (transferred 2/25). I know I'm going to mess it up if I do it.

Maybe the CSC is going to blast through the 2/25 tranfers in the next few days. Here's hoping.

    just to update the list

my approval (decision) date was April 09th 2009.

  2. Congratulations!

    Hopefully mine will come soon....

Was your case updated or touched online?

    sl

no never except when it was transfered to Cali

AntanD , thank you ! and thanks for making this waiting game a little smooth with your sense of humour and contributions

I can bet you will get approved before your baby comes into this world. It's coming. I was surprised to see that my case was approved on April 9th (last Thursday) and i got the letter on Monday April the 13th. So that means there are no other bottlenecks after the decision. It could also mean that if you have not received the paper yet , it is just that they have not touch your file ...

    Hang on tight , it's coming ...

  6. LOL,

    I correct myself...

    Just my $545.02

    :D

You're funny! My guess is they're currently working on them, the slowness compared to the 2/11 transfers might be because they're dividing their time between transfers and direct applicants. I've seen few approvals on the CSC timeline topic recently.

good luck to all of us!

yeah , that was my initial assumption too.

it is still wrong and unfair though . i just saw an approval for a case sent in Jan 09!!!! just pretty close to our transfer time.

That's wrong frankly no matter how we would like to rationalize it.

we are to explain the unexplainable. :)

  7. Hi Everyone,

(I'm a 03/02 VSC to CSC I-751 transfer, but that's close enough to the 02/25 transfers here...)

I agree. As I said before in other posts, "I don't care whether or not I receive that new card or not", rather it is the "being stuck in immigration limbo, and not knowing what is happening with my case/file" that bothers me (and I'm sure everyone else too).

There is "no rhyme or reason" as to the way the USCIS approves I-751 cases. And it's not fair either that they don't honour the "first come first served" rule, and that many others are getting "skipped" because of this as they wait patiently in the line. Sounds like very bad customer service to me, as they don't "deliver when promised, and the customer is not getting what they paid for" (for example, 6 months as promised time-wise from the USCIS site...you can forget about that)...

Meanwhile, this is not a minor matter either, as many people have so many things "on the line" because of these delays. For example, work, education, travel, moving, renewing legal documents, etc. plans have to be re-adjusted and/or re-considered because of the incompentency of the USCIS. As well, there's always that risk of "deportation", waiting for an interview, or getting an rfe, while waiting too. Does this sound fair? No, I don't think so.

Sure a few weeks is nothing in the grand scheme of things of life. But if one has to make crucial decisions and/or have decisions made for them in the meantime, then yes, this could be a serious matter, indeed!

Lol..just my 2 cents (make that my $545+ worth of thought).... :)

Ant (Still waiting for I-751, Still waiting for Baby...)

That's a little dramatic. There is no delay in any of those things. The green card is extended for a year. Now after a year and no card, I could see how there could be problems.

Alex, the one year extension is not the issue here. Even if they were to give us a 3 year extension, the outcome will be the same.

There are two issues that are raising our frustration.

1/ the lack of order in processing cases. It is perfectly human to feel discriminated against if you have been waiting patiently for one year and see others being approved in 2 months . Worst , uscis does not tell you why or at least explain that discrepancy. AntabD is perfectly rights by saying that it is a horrible customer service. We have no power to go elsewhere to seek a better service since government services have no competing suppliers. That is frustrating big time.

2/ the uncertainty: The one year ext does not protect you against feeling uncertain about the outcome of uscis decision, and as a result of being uncertain about your immigration status you feel so uncertain about everything else that you want to accomplish ie career , finance, new undertakings etc etc ... No matter how much evidence you provide , the final decision is uncertain. That is the problem.

Thankfully we have this wonderful website with so many great souls to share this very frustrating experience with ...

PS : I think we should ALL call our senators offices in tandem and make them contact USCIS i bet if we put that kind of pressure on they will feel it ... let's do it. GOOD LUCK TO YOU ALL.

  8. Hey y'all

I have been an avid reader of the forums and i have leaned a lot from this website..as you can see on my sig.. i did my biometrics in Feb '09 and i am yet to see any update or letter from uscis maybe i am paranoid but anyway i understand how that goes how often do they update...since i don't even know if they received my biometrics on the website it only shows the very first update "we received your letter to remove conditions and we will be notifying you on what to do next" oh and yep i am in the dreaded VSC

    Thanks!

yeah , that 's the way it goes. Now you will have to sit and wait. They do not update anything except for either an RFE or approval... Hopefully your case will be processed faster than most other cases. My bio was done last year in Aug 2008 since then no word except the transfer to CSC.

Take it easy relax and just wait...

    good luck !!

  9. My file was transferred some time towards the end of March and I got my approval letter in the mail on Monday. Don't put too much faith in the USCIS website status updates. Mine's still saying "case pending in VSC"

same here. I will give it a week and contact my senator's office is a ranking member of the senate immigration committee). Just so they can find out what's going on. It is better to know if our files are still in existence to say the least.

This is not just being worried it's about losing my job. Most employers do not want to deal with an uncertain immigration status. especially now. So, i'm sooo troubled by going back to my HR to tell them that my status is still uncertain... It is truly annoying..but ... i guess that's life .

I saw a new approval CSC sent in Jan 09 . So my theory must be holding namely that they are also approving the existing CSC cases instead of attacking the old Vermont transfers.... sooo unfair

  10. I'm in the same situation; i.e., transferred to CSC on Feb. 25 and no touches since Feb. 27. I'm getting mighty antsy about this approval. It's the first thing I think about when I wake up in the morning. Guess that's because as we've all seen on this website, the USCIS is not immune to making mistakes and things can go horribly wrong. With this process, I'm a 'expect the worst and hope for the best' kind of person.

Fingers crossed for the remaining Feb. 25 transfers!

No this is kind of worrisome. They actually processed the Feb 11th case in less than 4 weeks for the most . I checked the list it looks like only 6 or 7 2/25 cases have been approved so far out of 18 and i have seen March cases approved. even if they work in batches , it's hard to explain how March transferees will be approved ahead of feb cases.

The other scenario could be that they moved back to process the CSC cases ( non transferees) right after June cases.

  11. Does anyone agrees with me that the second and third batches of VSC to CSC transfers have slowed down in approvals speed? It seems as if those transfered on Feb 11th were quickly processed than those after. It has been about 1 month a half and we are still untouched ... Could this be due to the H1B cases season? Any idea?

thanks in advance for sharing ...

    It could be everything.

But some 2/25 transferees have been approved already.

I think it all depends where on the pile your file is.

    No matter what, we're next.

Let's keep our fingers crossed Italian-in-nyc. Good luck , hope we get approved this week !

It is really irrational how they work ...

  13. I've posted on here a few times before with questions about what happens if you and your green card sponsor separate after filing for the removal of conditions. Well here is my experience (and good news!):

    Timeline:

    11/30/2007 NOA for I-751 received

    03/01/2008 New Biometrics taken

    09/08/2008 Request for evidence received

10/16/2008 Responded to request for evidence

12/15/2008 Notice of interview for conditions removal

01/27/2009 Date of interview, petition (unoffically) approved

My husband and I separated just after I filed the I-751 in 2007. I did not notify the USCIS about this since I really didn't know what I was supposed to do. In September of 2008 I received a request for evidence, which specifically states that if you have since separated you must give details. So I sent in as much evidence as possible of the good faith of the marriage (even things I had already sent in case they got lost) and explained about the separation. We had also just filed for divorce, but it was not (and still is not) final so it wasn't possible for me to re-file with a divorce waiver. Anyway, I was then called for an interview. My husband very graciously agreed to attend it with me even though it was a long drive for him and we are not on the best of terms. We had a long wait at the USCIS (because they lost my appointment letter after I handed it in at the front desk!), but finally the interview itself was very straight forward. The interviewer was very nice, and even said he couldn't really see why they'd sent my case up for an interview in the first place. He told me my petition would be approved and stamped my passport with a temporary year-long green card so that I can travel while my case is being officially approved and the new card ordered. (He said that whole process could take up to 3 - 4 months! I've got no idea why.)

So, it's all over. After all that worry and stress it finally seems to be done (although I will be very glad to see the real 10-yr greencard when it comes!).

Best of luck to everyone else, and if anyone has questions about filing while separated please feel free to ask. It really should not be an issue if you have good evidence that your marriage was real. If you do have a divorce finalized AT ANY TIME while your case is pending (even if it's the day before your interview or something), or before you file the first time, it is necessary that you file or re-file with a divorce waiver, or else you can have big problems further down the line.

    Nadia

Nadia . Thanks so much for sharing your story.

Just a quick question... when you write:"In September of 2008 I received a request for evidence, which specifically states that if you have since separated you must give details. " Does this mean that they investigated and found out that you were separated? or is it just a standard verbiage in each RFE?

  15. Hi Papuo,

Congratulations on your recent VSC I-751 approval!

Onto the next stage of citizenship for you!

Ant (Still waiting for I-751, Still waiting for Baby...)

P.S. Funny how the USCIS doesn't work on a "first come first served basis". I can't believe that they are working on October 2008 cases already (and skipped all those July, August, September cases)!.... Nevertheless, glad to hear that someone from the VSC to CSC transfers got approved recently...:)

Approved!!:dance::dance: Just got the letter and the approval date is 04/01/09. According to USCIS website my application is still in VSC but I'm not complaining :) Thanks a bunch for all the advice and info. Now a couple of months off and then time to start the naturalisation application.

Please add me to the list as:

    VSC RECEIVED 7/11/08

    BIO 08/03/08

    Transfer to CSC 2/25/09

    still waiting ...
