What to wear for the AOS interview based on marriage? Is a business suit too "formal"? Is jeans too casual? My husband said he is just gonna wear normal clothes(polo shirt, shorts, shoes not flip flops) Does this sound ok?

What did you wear for the interview?

  2. We did it! We never gave up, since 2007, she and the boy survived kidney stones, typhoid fever, exhaustion, dengue fever, financial distresses, a terrorist siege -- taken hostage, bound with ropes, jabbed with AK-47 bayonets, house burned down, car shot to pieces, entire town destroyed, 30 days in evacuation center, year-long annulment process to end pointless marriage to extortionist pig who kidnapped his own illegitimate boy for ransom, two weeks at St. Lukes, two return trips to embassy, and finally, finally, a K-1 and K-2 visa for two deserving and faithful people from a forgotten corner of southeast asia.

They never lost faith in me! Thank you God! I never lost hope for them!! We made it! WE MADE IT!!!

Please share our joy, this family is finally complete! Thank you Visa Journey Administrators and Friends!! We couldn't have done it without you!!

John, Gen and li'l man Ry!!

You climbed a Mt. Everest of hurdles. Anyone else here has NOTHING to complain about. Congrats, and enjoy your new life.

wow. Mt. Everest...cool. Good parallel. Thanks bluedog. BTW, you gotta work on that pic. Shadow gives your shnozz a sinister hook, like a Gary Larson Mad Scientist. J

  4. This seems too good to be true...

I received my NOA1 just on 5/26/09, and today I already received the NOA2, dated 6/17/09! It says that it's an Approval Notice, has the validity of four months, and even has the A number on it like the sample NOA2 I've seen here on the website. The only thing that looks different is that in the text of the letter, it doesn't say it's been sent to the NVC, it says it's been sent to "the listed consulate." I am nervous to start rejoicing just yet because this seems to have gone through so quickly, and I'm wondering if this difference in text is some kind of indicator or something having gone wrong? Thank you so much for any help!

Be happy! Our NOA2 also arrived months before we expected it, and I was also skeptical when I read that it would be forwarded to an unnamed embassy. I'm here to vouch your NOA2 is legit - - We had our interview last week

  5. My visa is approved today but i was asked by the consul to submit a new nbi with a.k.a. Eventhough i wasn't able to get a pink slip but the consul assure me that my visa will not take any longer as long as i can submit the needed document. After the embassy i went immediately to nbi to get a new one with a.k.a and i am so happy coz i able to get it right away. I am going to pass it tomorrow and hoping i will be done at 2pm coz i will be heading back home to cebu at 3:45pm my flight schedule. I want to thank everybody who prayed for me and those people who always cheer me up and being supporting and most especially the lord and mama mary. To my beloved fiance i will be seeing him so soon, he wasn't able to sleep while i am at the embassy this morning....hehehehehehe\

To those who are still waiting your time will come and you will be fine. Trust me interview is so easy nothing to worry.

Goodluck and God Bless you all :dance::dance:

where will you be moving to tiger lily? When are you leaving? Can we see you and your fiancee together? SP

  6. I've no advice to offer but i wish you luck on your medical and interview

Thanks guys. It was nice of you to notice my little post in this huge VJ site. Remotely trying to manage this stuff is a stress nightmare.

My fiancee finally finished at St. Lukes after 2 weeks of trial and error.

I do my best to keep her spirits up, but it is real tough sometimes, especially when I hear her getting beaten down with the stress.

I hope all this difficulty will make our bond stronger when she finally gets thru the interview, God willing.

    Regards to you,

    John

  7. Be sure that you bring yourself to the interview, or at least be nearby on the consular premises.

    agreed!! can't stress this enough!!!

Hi Gary & Alla! I just have to say, I love that VJ avatar pic you guys have! That smile on Alla is the best on the whole site! I just want to confirm, your answer to this new post implies that I, the USA petitioner, should be in Manila for her interview, even though I will not be allowed to enter the Embassy at all? I had originally planned to go to the interview, but after reading so many threads that indicate that I wont even be recognized as being there, I decided to use my flight after the interview, when the Visa is delivered and in her hand a week or two later, to carry her to the US with me. That way, I wont waste the flight if the interview goes badly (God forbid). I dont have the money to go twice, and I cant leave my engineering business (sole proprietorship) for two weeks or more. You strongly encourage this? I have read many of your comments and respect you two greatly. How will the consular officer know I am there during her interview, if I have to stay out and never see him (the consulate) anyway?

  8. Wow, I just got blindsided! On May 1 I phoned the Manila Embassy; they offered me a K-1 interview for June 3 (Happy!). I just came from Cagayan de Oro NSO to get my toddlers passport, and the NSO informed me that his passport will not arrive at my hometown for 12 business days! Can I still go to St. Lukes and do the medical with him if he has no passport yet? If I wait til his passport gets here, it will be May 27, and even if I traveled to St. Lukes that same day, and the medical exam results are clean, is one or two days enuf time for the medical results to be processed at the Embassy, in time for my interview? I think there is a 7-day advance notice requirement to reschedule the interview! I'm leaning toward rescheduling the interview, but I fear that doing so might be a red flag for the interviewer, or that I will be questioned and grilled as to why I didn't show up. Ok, my friends, will St. Lukes accept my toddler for medical without the passport? Should I just bite the bullet and reschedule? :help:

Sooooo, I am overwhelmed with all the support and advice I'm getting here...Uhhh, is it my breath? The silence is deafening!
