  1. I was in Juarez in June. I didn't even go with a appointment letter because they never sent me one. I called them and after 4 weeks of calling they said just to come with your repicet number that you get from the NVC, go to Juarez and stand in line and they will give you your appointment letter. While your there, You'll have to dedicate one day to get the appointment letter, another day for the medical Exam, and the another day with the interview. We were there for three days, my fiance get hers on the same day as the interview. we walked accross the border to el paso the next day. Now weve been married for 5 months, and my wife just got her Green Card. Everything goes smoothly, just dont get stressed out. Also go to the Juarez thread, it is veru helpful. Feel free to ask me for any other questions

  2. hi everyone!....what does it mean, when the NVC operator say this? " THE NVC HAS RECEIVED DOCUMENTATION FOR THIS CASE. AS SOON AS THIS FILE HAS BEEN REVIEWED, NOTIFICATION WILL BE SENT".

Well I think it just means they are processing it, give it a few days, then call back. For my wifes visa, it was stuck at the NVC for 8 weeks, because after 2 weeks i called and they said it was going through "additional processing. " and i found out after calling every other day that they finally sent it to the consolate in mexico, I never recieved a notice from them, some get it some dont, so basically to sum it up, just keep calling!!!

  3. i went through the same process last year, They told me that my wifes case was going through addiontial processing. it was stuck there for 8 weeks. Then they fowarded to the Consolate, but they never sent me a letter. I called and found that infomation out on my own, then I called the Consolate, after 3 weeks of calling and eveytime they told they would send a letter, they never did and told us just to come and they would give us the letter there, and it all worked out, you just gotta keep calling to find out Info!!!

  4. Dont worry about it too much, After We got married we tried to go and get her named changed, they saiid not until she got her Green Card. Last week we just got apporved and during the interview i asked about SSN card and her named changed and all that, she said not to worry, so, we are going back to the SSN offcie soon to get her named changed over.

  5. Hey Everyone,

I was just wondering how long it usually takes for the consulate to send out the Fiance Packet. They received our petition on June 19, 2009 and i've contacted them several times already to see if they've sent it, but they keep telling me they have not sent anything out. It's been more than a month now and I'm just curious as to why it's taking so long. Does anyone know the standard process and time? Also, is there anything I can do to speed up this process? One more thing...Once it is sent out, how long does the packet usually take to arrive? Thanks in advance :)

You Dont have to Wait for them, I never got one, All you need to do is get the case number and fill out the papaerwork thats on the COnlsate website. Then go to Juerez to the Infoation line, and get the admittance letter. Thats what we did on June 16th, and eveything went great, posted my expirence on here, so you can read it.

  6. Alrighty, I can tell the rest now

On wed. my finacee went to the consolate at 7:30, there was already a HUGE line. but the guard called people with appontment letters, and we had ours to go the front. He then checked her paapers, and she got in at 8. I went back to my hotle room, then about 15 min later she came back they said that she was missing a form, one that wasnt on the webiste, but they gave her a copy, we filled it out and made two copiesright in the hotel loby. Then she had a pass to go right back inot the consolate. Then i went back up to my room and wacthed TV,. but i couldnt just sit there, so i went out and sat on the street corner liek everyone else out side the conoslate. My advie bring sunblock, and something to Rea if your gonna wait outside.

She then said that she went inot the consolate, she took a number, sat for a while, until her number came up, she said that they were not in order, then she got called up, a man checked her papaerwork, stamped it and told her to take a seat. She then got booted out with 15 others, because they were doing older people and mothers with children first. She waited outside for about 20 min then they called those that got booted out back in. SHe then sat down and they called her by name to another booth, where a amercian lady that spoke great spanish, looked ovber the paperwork, asked her, "ow did you meet." "Where does he work." and that was it, then she stamp the papaers and said your approved. My finacee was like i brought photos and lots of eveidence, but she said that we had enough on our orginail paper work.

Meanwhile i was outside about to have a ulcer and a heart attack from wating, when I see this amercian women walking down the strrett towards denny's when all the usdden she just said, "hey, I just apporved her." I just said wow, mmm then she said I reconized you from the photos." i said thanks!!! witha big smile, My finace came out a little bit later and need to pay 8.00 Dollares for the DHL because she forgot her money. So she went back in and paid, then we just waitd at the hotel for several hours.

Around 6:15 i saw on the internet that the DHL was ready!!! we rushed down to the offcie in a taxi, we were the last ones there, and we had the whole packet in our hands. We chec out the next morning, took a cab to the other side of the Birgde, and walked into the prt of entrey, She had to sit in a room fr a little whiole there, they took her fingerprints and we had to pay 6 dollars for her to enter at the Bridge in El paso. Then we walked accross picked up my car a drove back to AZ. HOOOORAY!!!! we did it, after being stuck at the NVC for a while, we finally made it and are getting married really soon. This site has been very helpful, just the little details that it has provided thanks to all!!!

  7. Well, We got it!!!

On monday, I walked accross the Birdge into Juarez, got a taxi, went to the airport, picked up my finacee, Then went to the Holiday Inn express, las misiones, it was really conviently located next to conoslate. She then waited in the infomation line for 4 hours to get the inivtaction letter. She got it around 12:00. So then we just hung out the rest of the day. Went to the mall across the street, ate at denny's and other close places. Tuesday we went to the clinca medica next to the consate, where while in line a lady pulled us out and got inot a new line to go the the old clinc. This was alot better, it is not near as busy. We got onto a bus they provied and drove over.

She said they sat ina room with everybody, drew blood then spearted the men and the women. Girl docotrs checked the girls and the guy docotrs checked the cys. she said then they took her xray, and sat in a room with just a hospital gown on. They checked everything really quick and asked her if she had taken drugs, if she drinks, any mental problems. Then she put her cloths back on and got back onto the bus and it took us back to the hotel. We were done by 11:00 AM. At 3:00 we got back onto the bus and went for the results, you just sit ina room and they call you by name, tell you not to open the small envelope, and the big one is yours to keep.

I wil get more to you on the interview a little bt later

    by for now

And If i dont have the Funds for the public charge can use a form-184 Affiddalt of Support? is that the right form? COngrats on all those who got thier visa!! I will be going to Juarez very soon, I am really nervous about everything, thanks for all the advice everyone!

  9. :dancing: :joy: we just got approved. This is the best feeling ever, no kidding. After all that waiting, I'm so excited. My fiance just got back from his interview and he texts me, "start cleaning the house" so that means he was approved YAY!!!

COngrats!!!! thats awesome. I am still waiting on the letter, i called them and said it would be out within 4 weeks, my lawyer wont proceed without a letter, so i am waiting on it, does anyone know who they send it too? The petitioner, Benficary? and how long did it take them to send it? anyway congrats epifreak!!!

  10. hello, when the consolate reopens, i am hoping to get news that they have recieved the peitition from the NVC. They sent it a month ago, nayway i was wandering when my fiancee gets past the interview and she is approved, can we just walk across the Border to El Paso that same day? thats what i would like to do or does she have to wait a while before she can enter the US or what? Thanks for all the info this thread is great

You can leave Mexico the same day that you have the visa in hand! Just remember that sometimes the visa might not reach DHL the same day as the interview/approval. When crossing, as is if you are flying to another point of entry, she will have to go through inspection. In our case we flew from Cancun to Pittsburgh airport, and we went together through the immigration line and the immigration officer scanned and stamped my passport and sent us to an office right there in the airport. When we went into the office I handed over my passport, my foreign fiance's passport, and the brown packet that you get at DHL along with the visa (the corner is cut on the packet, and you cannot open it). The officers there open it, stamp the I-94 arrival/departure record (basically invalidating the visa) and explain that you have 90 days to get married. They keep all the papers in the brown packet and the bottom half of the I-94. Sometimes they ask you a couple of questions like when you are getting married, etc. but in our case they didn't. Then they send you on your way.

On our visa, and I'm assuming everyone's visa it has under annotations: Blanket waiver. The officers at the airport asked "does your fiance have a medical condition? I see here that he has a blanket waiver." I said no, and explained about the vaccinations.

THanks! When we have it in our hands, we are going to walk across to El paso and drive to AZ. Hopefully we wil hear something soon, that they have it in Juarez, i mean its been a month, anyway thanks!

  17. I am hoping and praying for the same.. When was the last time you called NVC to follow up? We are calling twice a day, everyday.. :P Yesterday morning the operator told my husbie that our case HAS BEEN REVIEWED. I called in the evening and the operator told me IN THE FINAL STAGE OF REVIEW.. Their statements made me confused although they both said to call on Tuesday because it might have been complete by then..

    Goodluck to us!

Sounds like your CR-1 will be completed soon since it's on final review  We will call again monday or tuesday, we only call them once a week, yay  , gotta start calling them more

I guess, you better start bugging them everyday.. :P

Yeah, I am still waiting,. I have been calling everyday, i have been waiting for about a month and a hlaf now, i hope they will just hurry the process up for all of us!
