His wife is his sponsor I guess. He doesn't have any other sponsors.

My brother was working on a H1-visa. He recently married an US citizen and they filed for his Green card. USCIS mailed acknowledgement of receipt within 2 weeks of filing and his fingerprinting just got done last week. He found out today that he was laid off!! Can he still remain in the US?

Has anyone been in this situation? Appreciate an advice!

The infopass appt that I scheduled for my husband April 8th helped!!They said his letter should have been mailed but since we had not recd anything the IO emailed the Service center I think and we just got the letter for his fingerprinting appt -5/2/09. Such a relief. Didnt think it would take sooo long just to get to this stage! How much time after this should the interview letter come in? I think Chicago is one of the SLOWEST cities in processing n-400's.

Once he gets done, my process begins with him filing for me as a citizen.

Yes it was a yellow page! The leter was sent to us Jan 28th so its been long enough now.I hope the INFOPASS appt helps.Thanks

I have taken an INFOPASS appt for next week. We havent moved and nithing has changed since my husband filed for his citizenship. So I think my concern is very valid. Will know more I guess next week. Thanks for the response.

Hello everybody!

I'd like to join in although most of you seem to have already got done with this ordeal!! My husband filed for N-400 and we mailed the application Oct 1. USCIS recd it oct 9th and we received a letter of approval like Oct 20 I think. AFter that we received another letter in Jan 09 stating he needed to bring his Driver's licence or STate ID to his interview! But there was no date specified on that letter.

Does anyone have a clue what going on??

I'm the worried spouse obviously . The application status says its at the Nebraska Sevice Center and being processed.

ANY ADVICE ?? What should we do..
