  1. Actually I mailed my documents for submission on 11 th may. Usually the embassy gets them in a couple of days since I sent them through AMEX. Regarding your second question, I think and the other forum members willl also agree with me, that the normal turnaround time for the embassy is usually 2-3 weeks which doesn't factor in weekends, public holidays etc, so this I guess is slightly above the average time but normal nonetheless.

    Hi Folks,

Thanks a lot for all your wishes and support.

    Hi syed,

did you mail in your passport on the 11th, or did you submit it at the embassy at 11th? why did it take so long for you to get it, 24 days when they said it would take a few days?

  2. I can relate with Sibtain's increasing anxiety because I am going through the same. It is very natural because one tends to get used to the undefined waiting time also called AP as the time progresses but once there is a hope that something is on the way then one becomes very anxious and each day of waiting is difficult to spend - so still waiting as my passport and docs are with the ISL embassy now.

However Sibtain bhai, a small confusion, I think as you mentioned that we are on the same boat, our situations might be almost same, but there are some differences. I think they kept your passport, while mine was returned to me on my interview on 20th May 2008, and they have recently asked for it.

So lets hope and pray - would request all of you to keep praying.

    Thanks a lot all,

    Cheers

    Syed....

    Sibtain,

I will say InshAllah to your talks=)

You both should/and i'A will hear something soon from ISL.

loads of lucks to you both,

    duas n sallam,

  3. hi revived

Actually they never told me AP is over . On morning about a week ago I received a call from IsL for passport and other docs. And this is almost one year after interview. So I assume AP is over that's why they have asked for passport. However DOS is saying still under review.

    hi all

As I mentioned in my earlier post, I have sent my police cerificate, medical and passport about a

week ago. I just called DOS today to inquire what is the status of my case . There was a lady on the line who told me that my status is still showing case under review. I asked her if she could tell me details and she told me that your documents are with the embassy and they have received them and are still reviewing them. Can someone tell me why is it showing review at their end and not cleared . Is this normal ? Or do u think it will still take some more time. Your feedback will be appreciated

    Syed

hmm did you submit your passport, medical, and police cert for visa issuance after conclusion of AP? if so, allow ISL at least 2-3 weeks to review and issue visa and return passport back. Your case will remain in AP/review until visa is printed and in your hand. No need to panic!

    good lucks,

  5. Hi all,

Have sent the documents that ISL requested on the 1st of May today, i.e. Updated police certificate from current area of residence, updated medical report from panel pyhsician and THE ORIGINAL PASSPORT via AMEX. Keeping my fingers crossed. Lets see what happens. Best of luck to all your brothers and sisters. God Bless. Cheers

  6. Hi,

Have written to the ISL embassy and they have responded by saying that following will be required:

Original Updated Police Certificate from Rawalpindi.

    - Original Updated Medical Report from panel physician.

    - Original Passport.

So will try to get these things, the police certificate does take a couple of days so hoping to send all three things in a week's time. Can someone tell me from his/her experience what follows when I send these to the embassy. Am anxious to hear so please respond with your experiences.

    Cheers.

  7. Thanks a lot sibtain for your reply, that's what I was thinking as well because I have not changed my address since my interview and have been living in rawalpindi, my 2nd police certificate from the other city has the same dates cuz it was a long time ago so I was thinking on the same lines as sibtain bhai has guided me.

Anyways does this mean that AP is over and they are about to issue visa?

    Regards

    Syed

Revived sister you did not reply his this question.

Well Syed if u r still living in the same place and you did not change ur locatioon then you just only need to get your new 1 police certificate, mentioning ur present home adress.

You dont need to resend 2 Police certificate.Coz now your present living adress will be count.

Hope it will be helpfull for u.

    Praying for everyone.

    Sibtain

  8. As I mentioned I wasn't there to receive the call myself, and could only get the message through my uncle who was at the house. He was mentioning copy of the passport so I was confused as well because copies don't make sense as they already must be in posession of passport copies which hasn't expired .

I actually tried calling the embassy as well but it had been late by then, so would do it on monday.

In the meantime if all of you folks could guide me on this. Should I consider this as a good news and assume that ap is over?

Also please guide me on whether I would have to redo both the police certificates or just the latest ones.

Your feedback and guidance will be really appreciated

    Regards....syed

    Syed,

Police cert expires after 3-6 mons. You must re-do all and re-submit to ISL w/your passport.

    Same goes for medical.

When you say 'copies' of your passport you mean the actual passport?? If they didn't retain your passport at the interview, then you must submit the passport along w/expired docs.

good lucks and have a safe journey!

  9. hi fellow vj' ers, hope all of you are doing good. I appeared for my immigration interview on the ir1/cr1 category as the benefeciary on 20 th may 2008 (almost a year ago) and was told that my visa has been approved but can not be issued at this time and was given a blue paper and a peice of sticker pasted on my passport which was given back to me.

The waiting time started which was a bit frustrating in the beggining but I have got used to it as time has passed. The good thing is that my wife has been here with me throughout and hasn't returned back to the US since our wedding so I haven't really been bothered about the waiting but still I know it is a very tough thing and can relate to the people who are going through this agonizing wait.

Just today we received a call from the islamabad embassy which unfortunatly I wasn't able to receive. The message delivered to me was that I have to submitt my police certificate , medical report and copies of my passport.

Could anybody of you please guide me what it is all about and what I have to do. I had submitted 2 police certificates one where I lived previously ( haven't lived there for 10 years now) and one for my current residence area. Would I have to resubmitt both or just the current one.

Would be really grateful if someone could guide me through this.

My prayers and sincere wishes are with all of u. God bless.

    Cheers

    Syed
