  1. Hey all,

My husband (non US citizen) and I have our AOS interview tomorrow! yay! I have a question... as far as documentation to show we are married (things in both of our names).. we dont really have much. This is because everything was put in my name only (lease, utlities, cable and internet etc) due to me being the only one with credit history in the U.S.

    Will this pose a problem?

We have a joint bank account and both of our names under the same cell phone plan and thats it. Of course we have our marriage license and tons of wedding photos.. will this be sufficient?

I am just nervous so any tips are appreciated!

    Thanks guys!!

    Meggie.

  2. Hey Kevin

I waited 8 weeks for a bio letter, and that was in Phoenix to.

I did have to make an infopass appointment, and they printed me one right there and then at the meeting.

Let me know when you get it and I will tell you all about walk ins at Phoenix.

    Hey 'andymac',

What type of infopass appointment did you make? Service for a case already filed? Also.. if we call the USCIS will they be able to tell us anything?

Thanks so much for the help!

  3. Hey guys,

I have a questions about the I-693 for the AOS process. I know my husband wont need another medical exam because we are filing within a year of his overseas exam, but do we need to complete Part 1 of I-639 and have a civil surgeon complete part 2?

I have seen this on the guides, but have also seen other people's info about what they have sent in and this was not included?

    Thank you for any help!!

    Cheers!

    Meggie.

  4. Hi Guys,

We are just starting the AOS/ EAD process and have a questions. When it comes to Eligibility category we have no idea if we are supposed to be (a)(6) or ©(9). A-6 is for K-1 nonimmigrants who apply within 90 days of entering the U.S, which is us..... but C-9 is for Adjustment of Status Applicants and that's us too because we will be filing for AOS at the same time.

Any help and past experience would be greatly appreciated!!!

What did you all file as?

    Thank you so much!!!

    Meggie and Kevin!

  5. Hey All!

My fiance has his interview at the London US Embassy tomorrow and has read of course that you cannot bring a cell (mobile) phone in. For anyone who has gone through the interview process there, could you tell us if there is a way to bring a phone AT ALL?

Like.. is there an area where you can check your phone in upon arrival so that he doesnt have to travel and be all day with his phone when he is done with the interview?

    Thanks for any info!!!

    Meggie.

  7. Hello its Claire here.

It should be easy enough for you to get your long form Birth Cert.

    http://maps.direct.gov.uk/LDGRedirect/MapA...do?ref=grolight

If you check this link above, you can search up the register office home town where your fiance was born and contact them over the phone to arrange a long form Birth Cert.

They will ask for your fiance's full name, date of birth, both of his parents full names. It costs about £7 - £12 but I cant be fully sure.

Im sure if you call them early and pay over the phone you could possibly have your Birth Cert in the post the next day or two :)

    I hope this helps you.

    Claire.

Thank you so much for all of your help! I truly appreciate this!! :)

  8. Hi All,

I would really appreciate help from anyone who has gone through the K-1 interview at the London US embassy. Did you (or your fiance) need the "long form" birth certificate for their interview? I am seeing people talk about this on different forums. My fiance has his interview in London on Dec. 16th.

Any info would be greatly appreciated!!

    THANK YOU!!

    Meggie.

  9. Hey guys,

I have a question about some of my confusion on the I-134. Do I need to submit Tax returns and/or Tax transcripts for the past couple of years no matter what? The job I am in now, where I make enough money to support us, would NOT be reflected in the past 2 years tax returns. Does this matter or are they simply just required so I just need to send them anyway?

Any info would be GREATLY appreciated!

    Meggie.

  10. Hi All,

Could you please let me know how my fiance is supposed to pay the visa application fee ($131) that goes along with form DS-156? Does he get a postal order and send it in with his Packet 3 info? Or how does he pay for it.

Any advice would help becuase we are ready to send packet 3 but do not want to leave this out!

    Thank you!!!!!!!

  11. With the Visa Waiver Program (VWP) just remember that the rules changed sometime last year and you now have to register online BEFORE leaving. here's the website:

    https://esta.cbp.dhs.gov/

    Good luck :D

I had no idea about this! How long does this application take!?

It only takes a few minutes. Its just an online thing so that in the system they know the person will be coming over for a visit. My fiance does it all the time before visiting the US from England. In fact he just did one the other day because he is leaving to come visit me TOMORROW!! WOO HOO!!! :)

  12. SO.... in 10 days we will have hit the 5 month processing time with CSC. I'm so mad! I mean, I know it happens, but really... of course it would happen to us.

Anyone else file in March and still have not heard either? I feel like the only one! And then I see these May filers getting approved and its so unfair that they do not go in order!!!!!!!!!

    :(

  13. Hi all,

i need big time HELP... send my I-129F on March-03-2009 and got my I-129F NOA1 back on March-16-2009.

still waiting for I-129F NOA2.. looking at the time line posted here today its saying March-21-2009 are being processed and person who file 3 days b4 me got his NOA2 10 to 12 days back.. so i dont know what can i do? or do i need to do anything?

on USCIS web page still saying "Current Status: Case received and pending."

    case history

    Immigration Status: K-1

Place benefits filed at: Vermont Service Center

    Country of Fiance: India (BOMBAY)

    please help..

    Thanks

    Hemal

We filed on March 28, 2009 with CSC and still havent heard anything either. CSC is currently working on cases filed in MAY and we still havent heard.

Nothing to do but wait. We know how you feel :(

    Hang in there.

  14. You say "almost everyone else in March is getting their approvals" and I notice you filed yours the END of March. I'd give it more time. If you start bugging your congressman now, they might get annoyed in the event you REALLY need them for something. This process takes a lot if time and you have to learn to be patient, otherwise, you are just going to drive yourself crazy.

True. But with CSC currently processing those who filed at the end of April now, it just makes me a bit nervous. Well.. good news being that in about 3 weeks we will have hit the 5 month point, which is the current processing time for CSC on their website so we can actually start inquiring then anyway :)

  15. Hey guys,

Question about when should I have a congressman/senator's office call the USCIS for me to check on my I-129F?

Do they have to wait til the wait time (5 months) is expired as well, or can they inquire now??

I just feel like I have been totally skipped over since almost everyone else in March is getting their approvals and we havent even been touched or anything!!

    I appreciate the info :)

    Meggie

  16. So, my UK citizen fiance says its a terrible idea to get on Job seekers allowance in order to get a job, because it would make him look bad and get him turned down for the K-1 Visa at the interview. I make enough money to support us both, and he's not going to go on unemployment in the US when he gets here, but should he stay home and not work? He says going on Job Seeker's is the fastest and best way to get a job in England, and its almost impossible for him to find work without being able to go to the job centre. I don't understand this whole thing. Would he really get denied for being on job-seekers?

My UK citizen fiance is on Job Seekers allowance right now in England. I dont believe it will hurt anything. He is an electirican and was layed off due to the economy so what else is he to do?! Surely they understand being unemployed in these times...

  17. it really depends.. a few of the march filers didn't see anyting until they got the actual hardcopy letter in there mailbox and not the email type of mailbox. others have just gotten an email, and pretty much most of them are still showing as received and pending on the uscis online site.

i have no idea what is going on with CSC...april 27ppl are being approved and i'm still waiting..sigh. :(

I am in the same boat as you :(

Here's hoping that we get ours soon....

  18. yes... it is a self adhesive document that takes up an entire page of the passport

ok cool. That's usually the case but just wanted to check. Thanks for the info :) Now I just wonder when he should renew his current passport... sooner or later. Dont want him to be without it if by some miracle we have an interview in the coming months....

  19. ok, I know people post these types of things all the time but I am getting so anxious/nervous about my noa2!! We filed on March 28th, noa1 date of March 31 and all these April filers are now getting approved... I hope we didnt get skipped over. I know things go out of order all the time, just wish ours would hurry!! :)

    Ok, done ranting now :)

    Fingers crossed.

Don't worry just hang in there, as they have a tendency to do this. But, they will eventually come back and finish up March 09.

I sure hope so! Then I can stop checking my email and mailbox 17 times a day ;)
