  1. Hello VJers,

Well, My interview was at 0745 hours on Tuesday at Atlanta. I reached there at 0715 hours. Waited there for 10 minutes and this Lady called my name in PERFECT way. She seemed very very serious. Me and my wife kina got scared at first, but I swear when we started our interview process she was the other way around. She told me to forgive her for any inconvenience as it was her first day as Interview Adjudicator. At first she did scare me because she told me we had to go through lot of paperwork and I was worried that she might pick little issues on my application.

Anyways, she asked me my first and last name and in the middle of the application she said Oh Oh... She asked me to stand up and asked to take an OATH. We had to go through everything again. Then she asked if the lady next to me was my attorney. She said no MAIM, I am his wife. Anyways, she was from Italian descent and her husband was a Mexican American in the U.S. Military. She lived in our city for 4-5 years, and later transferred to Atlanta and today was her first day and I was her first Interviewee. She asked me about registering with Selective Service. I opened my file and gave her a copy. She praised me of how ORGANIZED I was. She then asked me 6 questions, writing, and reading test which I passed. She then said that she was gona retire next year, when she would turn 62, would go back to Cancun MX after retirement and live there with her husband and family. She wished me luck and asked me to come back at 2 for an OATH. We came back at 1:00 because of weather. We were through by 3:00 clock. In the end it was a wonderful experience and finally became a U.S. citizen.

Wish you all a happy merry christmas and best of luck on your journey.

God Bless the U.S. and you all.

    Love

    One new U.S. Citizen

  2. YES,

I had sent mine couple of months ago. I called the USPS and had the same answer from them. I told them that since I am the beneficiary and I am responsible for my package, which is why I am concerned. I tried to put a tricky situation on them, too. I told them that why would USCIS care to pick my package from post office, as they are not obligatory to pick my stuff. The lady was very nice and she told me that since there is so much correspondence or interaction with the USCIS, that they decided to do this way as you mentioned that they have a DAILY picking from the POst Office. And I assume that the USPS is not far from the USCIS either. If I remember, I called them around 10 am . My USPS tracking number was updated the following day with the SIGNATURE Confirmation from the USCIS the day I talked to the USPS people( which was the the day before).

I hope it might have cleared your anxiety. I would say not to worry about it. Just go on to the USPS website and check with the Tracking number. If it is updated, just make a PRINT OUT of that page for your record as I did. Thats about it !

    Thanks

  3. Hello Ant + D,

I have no clue about your situation since I have not been there or you may say I have not reached there yet. Anyone who might have filled before you (preferrably in your jurisdiction could answer you well). Thats weird, too. I was also think about this issue but could not come up with a logical reasoning as to why the case is touched which already has been approved years back. I had done my biometrics for N-400 on October 18, exactly after one month of filing my N-400. After my biometrics on October 18, they kept touching both my I-485 and N-400 until October 25 with the same olf previous information on those portfolios. On November 11, I received an email from USCIS that my case has been transferred to the local office but my I-485 has not been touched since 11-05-09. Since November 11, my case N-400 only has been touched everyday until today. I really can't grasp how USCIS is working or how it is working. I really dont know what to expect from USCIS here onwards on my case.

But, anyways, we all are anxiously waiting on a long wonderful experience of yours tomorrow written here at VJ. Wish you a very pleasant journey and GOOD LUCK on your tomorrow's interview.

  4. Hello Koo,

First of all, I wish you a successful interview in your upcoming interview at Atlanta. Hope your journey will finally come to an end on a happy and cheerful note. Mine would be there proabably, but don't know when. Will it be possible ( only if it is possible ) for you to ask your IO for oath dates in December 2009 or January 2010. Just wanted to prepare myself and plan my trip ahead of time, as my date of interview will fall in those months (hopefully). I would really appreciate your help.

    Thanks

    Well Wisher

  5. I applied for N-400 on 09-19-09, received my Biometrics letter dated 10-01-09, and had my actual Finger prints done on 10-17-09. USCIS has not touched my case since 10-01-09. I was wondering anyone here on September Filers, who had their Biometrics done recently and whether or not USCIS touched their profile/status online after PHYSICALLY taking biometrics.

    Thanks

Thanks for your reply buddy. Also congrats on becoming USC

  6. Hello Friends,

I was just wondering if you guys have checked your Online N-400 Application status on USCIS Website, once you are done with Biometrics. Mine still says the same message which was posted after the Famous RFE or Biometrics letter sent, probably 2-3 weeks before your Actual Physical Biometrics taken. Did anyone have any touches from USCIS after you had done your Finger prints for N-400? Any help or assistance wil be appreciated.

    Thanks

    Well Wisher

  7. Hello Everyone,

First of all, had been out of town for couple of days due to my job, which is why was not able to read the forum. Heard of this Gentleman "Tim's" two interview for n-400 kina scared me. I hope God will make a way for him. Well, I received an infamous RFE email today, stating it was sent to me on 29th september. I might get it tomorrow or may be by Saturday. I also checked the status of my money order, which I sent as my medium of payment. It was cashed on September 28, too. I hope everything is going well. Would request any well wisher to adjust my profile in this thread plz for CHK CASHED. Anyways, once again wish you all successful completion of this remarkable journey worth remebering for life.

    Just

  8. Hello Ant D !

I have been so lazy that for last six months I have been asking various ppl here on various thread to update my information. Thought to request you today to add my status on this thread (since you are one of the most renown name here). I received my I-797 C in the mail today. It says that USCIS received my application on 21st, and the Notice Date/Priority date is September 23rd. It states my full name and residential address and requires from me to contact them in case of any discrepancy with my name or address.

Now my question about cashing the chk. Since I had lost my job last month and had been claiming Unemployment until last week. Therefore, I had to ask loan from my friend. He did by giving me a Money order. I have been calling the 1 800 number to confirm the status of the money order, whether or not it has been cashed. Until writing this email, it was not cashed. Am I in a weird situation? Response is greatly appreciated. Wish you all best of luck in this great journey.

    One Well wisher

  10. Hello VJers:

I lost my job rather company was shut down and everybody lost job. Everybody is ready to file for UNEMPLOYMENT this week. I want to claim UNEMPLOYMENT, too. I have been paying my taxes for the last 5 years. But, I am confused now as I heard rumors from so many people that if you claim unemployment or any benefit from the GOVERNMENT, you could be denied citizenship or your application to sponsorship( in my case , my mom) could be affected, even may be REJECTED. I am not sure about it as I really want to confirm this issue, before I go for claiming unemployment if I have to. I can live hand to mouth or even work odd jobs to take care of my wife and our bills and take no benefit from the state or federal, if that could in anyways HURT my N-400( Will file on Spetember 20, 2009) application or to sponsor my mother in future. Anyone here at VJ, who was in an immigrant status, had ever claimed UNEMPLOYMENT while applying for N-400, would enlighten me please. I would really appreciate anyone's input here. Thank you so much in advance for reading my topic. I dont know if it was too stupid to ask or to laugh about, but I apologize for that.

    Good Luck
