City2CountryGirl,
We received our letter from the USCIS informing us of our approval just one day after it had been adjudicated (probably as surprising a success for the Royal Mail as the USCIS). Note that this was the same day that we saw our case was completed on the London list.
By Wednesday the next week, despite the holiday weekend, we were informed by the visa branch of the embassy that they had received confirmation of our approval and we were free to continue processing of our (ir-1) visa.
5 weeks is way too long to wait regardless, especially given that - as my case shows - they are more than capable of turning things around in a timely manner. Definitely chase them down.

There was another update today.
However, there were neither any new approvals nor moves to "Under Review".
Still keeping my fingers crossed for you guys.

JustJ,
Not packing quite yet. Trying to figure out exactly how and when we'll be going home, and - after all this time - exactly where home is going to be, what I'll do for work, etc...
My notice period is 3 months over here anyways... So, we have a little bit of time to figure out the move.
I am keeping my hopes up for everyone left here. Given my delays, there's every possibility of you all being back in the U.S. before me still.
Best of luck.

Oh, Christ... it is!!!!
I'm trying to get my lawyers now to find out the result.
God, I'm shaking right now.

Even better... it is MY CASE that was moved up to "under review"!!!!
Andrew... we might end up racing eachother to Hawaii.
-
Andrew,
I can't believe I missed that! Only able to take cursory looks at these things while at the office.
It used to be that once "Under Review", there was only a week or so wait out of London. While, that hasn't been the case in recent months, I'll keep my fingers crossed that you get a quick turnaround now. Hopefully, you are just a short time away from your wife and a new life in Hawaii together.

Hey all,
Believe it or not, we have another update this morning (Tuesday, March 30th) after getting two updates yesterday.
Not much additional movement; but, the poor soul with the 2005 case who has been "Under Review" for the last nine months has had his case finally completed.
I have to say... although the number of completions could make this seem like Chinese water torture... I'm remarkably happy seeing movement.
Perhaps the USCIS is just looking to get Traci-Andrew to go mad updating his spreadsheet on a semi-hourly basis from now on

So, after much waiting, we have another update.
Since the last update, only one case (from Dublin) has been completed. That makes just two cases completed since February 11th, and one of those being - I understand - a simple case of C2C Girl's.
3 cases (two from London and one from Stockholm) have been moved up to the under review section. These are the first three that have been added since February 11th.
It looks like two new London cases were added to the pending list.
In summary, since Feb 11th, two cases have been completed, while 19 have been added. Under the current pace, for those of us who were on the list on Feb 11th, we have about another 80+ week - or just over a year and a half - wait to see ourselves to the finish line.

Traci-Andrew,
Thanks for the Ombudsman transcript. I couldn't help but think, however, that none of their answers could apply to what is going on in London right now... unless every single waiver that is currently filed in London is freakishly complicated.

Traci-Andrew,
The situation is probably worse than what you are thinking. I've been going over the london tracking list for over a year now, and they have been particularly slow going back to October. Dreadfully so over the last couple of months. It's noticable enough now that my attorneys are trying to discretely find out if there have been any staff changes, etc... amongst the adjudicators. I used to see about 15 cases a month out of london with updates to the list twice a week.
Also, what part of Hawaii are you from? I'm looking to move back there if I can ever get my wife's inadmissibilities waived.

Hi all , just thought i would put this post on , having been to hell and back over 7 years with USCIS , i thought i would let people know that...if a waiver is approved for criminal or other convictions ..and you dont offend again after the approval ...the waiver is VALID FOR LIFE AND YOU CANNOT BE DENIED AOS !! just an experience i have regretably been through and shouldnt of had to !! good luck all !!
Are you sure about this? How do you know?
I applied for a waiver for my wife back in 2000 for a K-1 visa. My attorney misconstrued a request for additional information as a denial, so her and I got married and moved abroad. 6 months later, an approval for our original waiver came in; but, we were told by INS that we would not apply, as we were already married. We would have to seek another waiver if she would come in on an IR-1.

C2C,
While the USCIS is particularly iconoclastic on not handing out info via telephone, email, etc...
I've always heard that the visa branch at the embassy is a little bit more accomodating. Have they confirmed that they've received notice of your approval yet?
