    Brahim and I met when I was volunteering in Morocco in 2006. He was in the US on a J-1 in 2007 and we went through a lot to get the home-residency rule waived (best advice: don't listen to people who say that it's impossible to get a J-1 waiver!). We were finally able to apply for the K-1 in 2008, and things have gone much faster since then. It's been a very long process, but we can finally see the light! Inshallah, we will be together soon.

    Still waiting! I asked friends who are consular officers in a different country, and they said there's nothing i can do but wait. They said the goal is to get them out of ap within 1-2 months. the state dept website says you have to wait 90 days b4 asking. So we're waiting patiently!! The consulate wrote me a nice email tell ing me it was still in process, which made me feel be
