I tried the directions from the link below and it worked for me. You have to give it a few days before they actually send it out and try using a few dates surrounding the date you believe it to be leaving NVC. Having this information allowed me to have everything ready when the info arrived in Kenya. I gave the Nairobi embassy 1 week before I called to make an interview. They allowed me to do this before my husband's medical was complete because we already had one scheduled and I wanted to be there for the interview. I obviously needed to know when to get a plane ticket so they were flexible. Keep in mind it is VERY hard getting a hold of someone at the Nairobi embassy. It took me a week and I had to chew someone out. Then they were very nice to me.
I just checked DHL site and no packages were shipped to Nairobi, Kenya yesterday or today. The DHL track post is below. It really only works for you if you know the exact date NVC shipped your petition. Sometimes they just tell it's on it's way...and in reality it just waiting to be shipped.

Those shots are both a series shot, meaning that there are 2 or three of them to complete the series. I had already kept my husbands up to date through a checkup he had once on my insurance. I have read places where you really don't need to have them for your AOS, but you might as well complete them, because you will probably have to have them complete for removal of conditions anyway.

If you have the w2 for the past 3 years too you should be fine.

I don't think you will get anything until you get the card. My husband's EAD and AP were both approved last week. We received the AP pretty quickly but just got an update online saying they ordered production of the EAD. We still have not received a notice via mail that the EAD has been approved.
-
Do you have a copy of the shots? That is all that needs to be resubmitted if she has had the physical within that past year. Read the I485 instructions and the Physical paperwork instructions very carefully. I had to highlight and explain to my civil surgeon but finally got through to them.
-
you SHOULD do this because you want to make sure all the medical papers are ready by the time of the interview. You have no control over that one. We cut it pretty close with my husband and I may have lost of few years of my life in worrying.

One thing that helps is to have any employer you have write a letter stating how long you have worked for them, what you do and how much you make. Even if you work off your rent, it has a value. Make sure that you use that as part of your income. You probably have to put what you owe to the IRS as part of any debts though. Good luck. I didn't have a complicated situation and even I hated that form.

John - thanks for the info.
What status would they use if they filed with just the I-94?
I don't believe that you need to apply for EAD with I-94 from K1 visa. As long as your I-94 is valid you are ok to work. Usually people don't because as soon as your i-94 is no longer valid you must then wait for your EAD and I don't think many employers would be very understanding of this. You should wait to apply for EAD when applying for AOS.
Again, why do you need birth certificate to marry?
This is not true. K-1s are NOT authorized to work without an EAD or Green Card. They never have been, really, but until early this year, they could get away with it as the I-9 form was vague. That was corrected in February.
I don't believe that you need to apply for EAD with I-94 from K1 visa. As long as your I-94 is valid you are ok to work.Does your I-94 have a stamp that says "EMPLOYMENT AUTHORIZED"? If not, then you CANNOT work using your I-94.
Doesn't matter. That stamp is not valid in conjunction with a K-1 in any case.
Actually, they are work authorized based on class of entry--they just aren't employable. That's why a K1 can get an SSN based on their visa and valid I-94 without an EAD.
How are you defining the word employable?
Was my interpretation of the law correct?

Finally i got My GC , so let take some rest for 21 months and good luck for everybody that still waiting ....
Congrats. I am very much looking forward to the day. Enjoy

If you already have a license then all you should need to change your name is your marriage certificate. I would maybe try another DMV or someone else at the DMV. Social security is not very well informed about immigration unless you are in a high immigrant area so I wouldn't bother trying there again.

Don't worry, it will come. I used to be a very patient person until I started this process.

A visit is not the only way to document an ongoing relationship. Have your fiance take the emails, phone bills, etc to interview and don't sweat it.
I agree don't worry about it. If you can make it to the interview it should be super clear sailing. I was at my fiance's interview and they didn't ask to see any of the ongoing relationship.

You can print all the documents you need except for the medical forms from the website. The medical forms can be picked up from the embassy so that you don't have to wait for packet 3 at all. Once you know that the embassy has received your paperwork from NVC and she has completed the medical, you can schedule an interview by phone. They will schedule as close to one week out. I went for my fiance's interview so I was able to schedule before the medical was completed. If you can be there for the interview I HIGHLY recommend it. It was the most stressful day of our lives and I am glad that we were there for each other. Good Luck!

I heard something today about immunity for people who have been hiding money overseas from the government, but nothing about immigration. When I heard it on the news this morning it sounded like it might be about immigration so I listened more carefully, but it was about extending a coming clean campaign for people committing tax fraud. Could this be what you are referring to?

I am comfortably over the poverty line, but I just brought my most recent statement with me and I had no problems

My name is Moira and I am an American. People mess it up all the time, but I don't care because it is my name and I am proud to have it. The people who matter will learn and your children will get used to correcting them.

I'd call them again and speak to a real person.
Yes cal again and speak to a person the automated number is not intended for K1 Visas

is there sucht hing as additional processing after the interview...when they take your passport and say congrats does that mean your approved or there is a chance of some sort of additional procesing
Did they give you a date to pick up your visa? They told us we were approved but couldn't pick up the visa until This coming Friday.

I can't get this to work for me. I was informed by NVC that my case was sent out August 3rd. I entered it as EXP03AUG2009A Is this correct? I also tried the 2nd as in your example it showed a day earlier, but the 2nd was a Sunday. Please help knowing when my paperwork arrives will help me speed things along for the embassy I am working through. Thanks so much for the info.
Here are a couple of 'TIPS' I have used successfully recently. Just wanted to share with anyone who may need it. Good luck! ~Jan~TIP #1: How to track your case from NVC to Embassy:
When you know from NVC that your case was forwarded to embassy (mm/dd/yyyy) lets take an example case that was forwarded to embassy on March 20th 2009.
1 ~ Go to DHL TRACK
2 ~ Under track list, click on Track By Reference
3 ~ Type the reference in this format: EXP19MAR2009A, below that enter a date range and click track.
4 ~ A list of packages will come up and you can search for the city of your Consulate and it will show details.
This worked for me and I was lucky that there was only 1 for Casablanca.
----------------------------------------------
TIP #2: You can track the progress of your case after NOA2 & it has gone to NVC and/or Embassy by calling the Department of State visa line at 202-663-1225 options 1, 4, 1, 5, 0. This will get you to an operator. (M-F 8:30AM - 5PM Eastern time) Give them your USCIS or Dept of State (NVC) case number and they will be able to tell you if the embassy has mailed Packet 3 or 4, the interview date, ect...
**This is how I found out our interview date even before my fiance' has received his letter in the mail!**

i'll be adding this page to my favorites on the computer so i can come back and use this info when our time comes, thanks for posting this!!!
Not a problem! Once I found the information and used it for myself, I knew it would be helpful to others going through this journey as well. Good luck!! ~Jan~

I called the NVC today to check on the status of my case. I discovered that someone had entered my fiance's birth date wrong in the system and they would only give me the case number and nothing more. I asked the very friendly woman if it looked like they had switched the month and year and she said that it did. She wasn't supposed to tell me what the birth date entered was though. So my question is, now that I know how the birth date is entered in the system, even though it is wrong, is it safe for me to call back and use the incorrect birthday to obtain further information? Do they track the calls you make to the NVC? Will this get me in to trouble? Should I just wait until I get them to correct this? I am sick of waiting.

Also try Craigslist.com. The place I work at always posts open positions there.

I apologize if I have offended anyone, but my intention was to get the correct info to the poster. It is hard to tell that someone is knowledgeable when there is no information in a user's profile. I have never trusted and never will the member meter. Too many people drive up their ranking with useless posts. Thank you for affirming his response. It will come in useful for me in the future as well. Good Luck to all with the rest of your journeys.

There isn't customs when you travel between states. Depending on your airport, you might not even go through security again.
