  1. my husband's visa was approved. he ended up going with our daughter. so that was a bit of a pain for him since whoever was managing the area wasn't nice at all when he asked questions about taking our daughter out for some fresh air and coming back in.

for some reason he was the last person out of everyone to come in at 7:30 to get called. he was the only one sitting there and then all of a sudden everyone at a window took a break and he had to wait another hour with my daughter in there by himself. :(

they only asked 3 questions. i only remember : what does your wife do? they didn't ask to see anything. i don't think much was on the interview letter anyway.

glad we waited another couple of months for that lol

in any case glad it's all over!

    good luck to everyone else

Hi, i was just curious if someone has the interview in frankfurt july 21st????

    lets keep together.

  2. if you don't feel comfortable doing it, best to wait :) only you know your situation

we have a ticket and others who interviewed in FRN did too before the interview

you must bring a self-stamped addressed envelope to the interview

after your visa is approved they mail it to you

we are IR-1 and have been married since 02, and together for 10 years with a 2 yr old child

so i am not worried at all about proving bonafides

now that we got the interview date i wish my husband's ticket was earlier :(

  3. Frankfurt only mails the visa so you'd have to wait at least a week I believe. my husband had already booked a round-trip ticket for aug 10th and we decided not to change it. but like everyone said of course it's better to wait until the visa is definitely approved.

Hey VJ´s, i was just curious if someone can help me.

I do have my Interview on July 21st, when do u think i can book my flight??????

    Thx in advance.

  4. so many parents! my daughter is two. she just left with my husband today to stay with him until the interview/visa. i'm so sad :((( really hoping for an early july interview.

cant wait either, want to see hubby and our son want to see his dad, he cant see him growing up, that is too bad.

which u all luck for the next two weeks, will pray before i go to bed.

same here, my daughter is already a year old now and she wants to see her dad.. thats so sad he cant see her growing up

  5. thanks a lot for the info!

    Hi guys,

Just an FYI - you may already know this - a bunch of us who were approved around the middle of April got scheduled for June interviews during the last two weeks of April, even though we were ALL told by the NVC to call back in the second week of May. So if we were typical you all should start getting scheduled any minute now.

The other thing to know is that the NVC emails the interview letter within HOURS of scheduling the date, if you've given them your email address (the beneficiary will get that too). At least they did with our group.

Also, some people had luck contacting their consulates after being scheduled and getting earlier dates for interviews - guess that depends on how busy they are/if they have any earlier openings/if they feel so inclined.

Good luck to all! Getting the interview date is such a HUGE thrill, and then the next wait starts

  6. it's called a "false RFE" it's just a glitch in their computer system. the review for the 230 and 864 are done by different offices. if they have finished reviewing one packet and the other one has not entered the system yet, it will show up as "missing information" and generate an RFE. but that is good news. nothing for you to do except go back to waiting for them to review your case :)

I called and talk to an operator and she said that they just need to verify the DS-230 packet that I sent because they haven't reviewd yet but they are done with the I-864. I don't understand why the system gives you a message that they have missing imformation when is not true!!!!!

    Orlando...

  7. good luck! i know it is very frustrating. they lost out passport photos, gave us an RFE for items that were not required, etc. but you will be finished soon... this is just the last part until case complete!

the e-mails are always delayed and sometimes never sent at all. when you do talk to the operator, make sure to ask why the BC or MC were not approved.

they refused to recognize a certified copy of the international version of my husband's BC but it took talking to 3 different operators to find out that they just wanted the version in its original language only. go figure. so make sure you get all the information you can from the operators. sometimes it is faster to get a document again then have them "review" your file just to get the same RFE.

Hi, NVC really stressed me out..

First, they didn't recognize my certified copy of BC and MC.. I called them last May 19 and told the operator that those docs are certified copy from issuing entity, which is the court where we got married in the US and registry and civilize office here in my country, the one who issued my BC. That lady said that she will put those informations on their system and request for a supervisor to review my docs. I called them again the next morning just to make sure that they really put those informations on their system, and they said it is already on their system, and ask me to wait 10-15 business days. But now May 21, they sent a RFE to my hubby's email asking for original/cert copy of my BC and MC!! It's a joke!!

I'm just hoping that email is a false RFE and was sent before I provide informations about my certified copy of BC and MC.. sigh..

My BC is an original version in our language, I also provide the translation doc for that. My friend from Indonesia who also file a CR-2 had no problem at all, and she sent certified copy of applicant's BC from exactly the same office where I got my certified copy. So I don't see the reason why they can't approve mine.

I'll call them again tomorrow and ask more about it. This time I'll try to speak to a supervisor.. If they allow me.

  9. it takes awhile for the documents to get entered into the system. even if you overnighted your documents and they were received, it doesn't mean that they have started review. you have to check the AVR or call an operator to find out when the last docs were entered into the system. usually from that time, if you have no RFE is takes about a week or so. i know it can be disappointing if you are checking every day so don't get frustrated. i found it better to call and get the info from an operator.

I was able to log in on mine! I just don't know what to thing  Let's see what happend tomorrow! I will keep praying cuz something needs to happend soon. :crying:

  10. Call the NVC, speak with an operator and ask them exactly why the documents you submitted were denied and what documentation you need to submit. If the documentation they are asking for is not available, explain to the operator and ask if you can submit a letter stating why you cannot obtain that document. If you don't get any information from an operator, ask to speak to a supervisor.

    Hi,

We are having problems with a RFE from the NVC.

First, they said that the certified marriage certificate is missing. They definitely have one in the checklist package as well as the photocopy. In fact, they probably have two since I sent a certified one in with the original package as well. Do I just send in another one? Is there something special that needs to be done to it other than the seal and signature that the issuing court put on it?

Our second problem (which I also posted on the Africa board) is this: My husband is a German citizen who was stationed with the military in Mali for 3 years. When we requested the police certificate, we were told by the Attorney General's office in Mali that Malian nationals get one type of certificate, and foreign citizens who lived in Mali are only issued a "certificate of good conduct", which is what we submitted. It was stamped and signed by the police cheif of the region he lived in his full 3 years. Is this just a mistake by the NVC and they do not realize that Mali will not issue him the same certificate they would issue a Malian resident? Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thank you in advance for any help,

    Danielle

  11. well she did ask a question so she was trying to educate herself. it is possible that you misinterpreted her tone and intention. that's a whole lot of assumptions from her one statement.

Taj's american wife why the offensive response? is it more common in MENA countries than Phillipines to be into AP?maybe that is why she asked.. at least that is what it seems like to me in my frequent visits reading in the forum.. In no way does that constitute a negative picture in my mind about MENA countries... EVER!! Instead of assuming that offensive stance why not educate? isn't that why we are here?

Taj and tngirl , both answeres were not nice really

first not only Muslims go on AP ..everyoe can and i saw examples in many countires ..specially high fraud ones .filip , india , pakistan and nigeria is one of them ...thts according to many articles everywhere ...and thts why no DV visa`s for such countries ...so not only muslims ..lets say ALOT for muslims ..but still applied for everyone else ...

beside tngirl didnt mean this i guess ..so the Taj response may be a little hard ..im sure Tngirl didnt mean so ...

    cool up guys .

Well i have personaly contacted USICS about DV visa`s why not in PAKISTAN or INDIA they said bcz in those countries many ppl comes to USA and this offer is only for those countries where ppl donot comes to america allot and let me tell you one thing I M LIVING IN SAUDI ARABIAFOR 18 YEARS I KNOW ARABIAN MUCH BETTER AND MOSTLY ( EGYPTIANS ) who got married to US CITIZEN they disapeard after getting GREEN CARD or CITIZENSHIP .im sorry but its 95% TRUTH.

    Thanks

well are you going to do the same? are you one of the 95% because i can bet my life that my husband will not dissapear after he gets his greencard
