  1. My fiancee took her interview on the first of september, and passed in only a few minutes.

But.... what do we do from here?

We're already in search of flights from the Philippines... but what is the deal with the seminar? Is it necessary? Any preperation for it? Anything else we should be aware of?

    Thanks!

  2. so happy,my fiancee was approved today at manila embassy, she got the famous pink slip....thank you guys here who help a lot on our process...were so happy right  now

wow congratz!!!!     hope to read here soon her experienced during her interview.. thank u...

supposedly the interview was on sept16,but we re schedule her interview on august 27,i went at embassy at 5am,i got inside around 6am,they check my ds forms, then i went to get my number, after that,i went back to my seat and wait for my name to be called for the scanning, after that i went back to my seat and waited for an hour for my number to flash for the prescreening, the lady was nice, she ask me where did we meet, when was the first time we saw each other,if i been married,if my fiancee has kids, what is my fiancee job, when did he start on that job, what do i do,if i have a degree,.she get my nbi, cenomar, birth cert, eveidence of engagements, affidavit of support,i told her that we have a co sponsor, and she ask why,and she accepted it with a smile..hehe,then she told me goodluck...then i went back to my seat again and wait for my number to flash then after 10 minutes there it is my number flash..the consul look nice,i was so nervous, then he ask me to raise my right hand and ask me to tell the truth, then he started browsing my papers and asking,he ask me,where did we met,how many times, what does he do for living, what does he do before he started work on his current job,he ask me if i have a job right now,if i have a degree, and if i am a license..then he told me,ok youre visa is approved now..i said thank you with a big grin on my face then i went to another window and they gave me the famous pink slip and ask to pay the air21......finally,the long wait is over,we can sleep now with a big grin on our face...god is good

Congrats!! But... how did you manage to get your visa the same day?

  3. Don't make travel plans.. or purchase a ticket until the visa is at hand. We don't know what bump you may encounter along the way on or after interview. ( Which of course we all hope that things would be smooth).

And also, when your girl gets her visa, she can have the CFO certificate and the sticker in just one day.

Do you get the visa the same day as the interview (if approved)? or do you have to come back for it?

  4. We're trying to schedule things for the next couple weeks... and trying to figure out from the interview how long would we expect to receive the visa? We just passed the medical, and the interview is next week. I also know that the seminar will happen shortly after as well. Anyone have any suggestions? We're working on scheduling the flight soon too. Any info would be great! Thanks!

  5. When you get info from NVC you can track the shipment to Manila...

Once you know the date NVC sent off the file, track it at DHL's website: http://track.dhl-usa.com/TrackByRef.asp?nav=TrackByRef For the reference code, enter EXP 10 JUL 2009A (adjust using dates just before the date NVC told you), with a shipping range of that day to a few days later (July 13 - July 14 worked for the example above). Look for shipments to your beneficiary's embassy.

To find out if the embassy processed the packet, call the Dept of State before 5pm: 202-663-1225 press 1 then 0

After they get it follow this...

Don't wait on them to send you anything or you may get old. Go to this page and learn all you need to...Call them and see if they have your package yet and set an appointment.

    http://manila.usembassy.gov/wwwfk1en.pdf

This page is about Setting Appointments:

    http://manila.usembassy.gov/wwwh3238.html

Has she/he got all the paperwork ready yet, is the medical done.

Go to StLUKES send her a copy of the letter from NVC, email or mail your choice: it's walk in so don't worry best to go Tues-Thurs to avoid rush.

Medicals are valid for 6 months. Info about medical is at the wwwfk1en.pdf link above.

Check this site for more info on the visa process in Manila:

    http://manila.usembassy.gov/wwwh3023.html

Check up on the CFO seminar he/she will need either before or after but definitely before he/she can LEAVE the country Look HERE:

    http://www.cfo.gov.ph/emig_manila.htm

    Hope this helps...Good Luck

i tried checking it out... but don't know if any are specific to me. I don't know if I can find my specific package.

  6. Thanks for the resposnses...

But... what exactly do you do when you call? is it just to set up the interview? We havent received our packet yet, but i know our docs were sent from NVC already and they gave me the "MNL" case number. Is that all I need when I call? I've read somewhere in one of the questions to start calling as soon as possible... but the guide says to wait 5-7 business days.

It's getting exciting... but, I'm starting to get a bit lost now.

  7. Just reading ahead... trying to schedule everything.. but I came across this...

Applicants, petitioners and authorized agents calling the 1-909 number are charged US$0.98 per minute, while the cost for those calling from within the U.S. using the 1-888 number is a US$18 PIN payable using a Visa or MasterCard once you have called into the service.

I understand the 98 cents a minute if calling from the philippines... but the $18? Is that a one time thing? then you can call as often as you need to?

  8. You wait until NVC receives your approval and then NVC sends off your package to the embassy.

You can call NVC with you receipt number to see if they have received your petition.

is the receipt number still the case number that was given to me by the USCIS? or will I be receiving one specifically for NVC?

  9. Hello VJers! We've received our NOA2 a few days ago... but was curious... what does the USCIS actually check for? I submitted a whole binder of everything I can think of (forms I-129. I-134, G-325, birth certificate, letters, tax returns, evidence of meeting) but... I'm a bit leary if I've submitted enough evidence of financial support. I'm concerned because I just read about a whole packet I'm suppose to receive from the bank... but I never went to get one. Any input? I want to start searching if I need to as soon as I can.

  10. We use YM, and our chat logs are archived. You can go to the chat archive and export each individual day. It exports it as a TXT file. I had two seperate folders for my individual IDs. At the end... I actually burned a CD. It contained chat archives, photos, monthly phone statements, scanned letters, tax docs, text message history... and an array of other things. Hopefully that helps.

  11. seconds... minutes... hours.... days... weeks... months... and for some even years have gone by. For us... 3 and a half months. It's a long journey that we've traversed to come this far. Many obstacles that we've managed to hurdle over... and yet still many more to come. I'm happy... jubilant... and excited! But at the same time... sad because I couldn't hold her and hug her when she heard the good news. She's happy! I'm happy! I can hear it in the joyful sobs.

Anyways... I'm at work right now... and received notice that our K-1 petition was approved! YESS!!! Woo hoo!! The long wait is done, but the adventure now begins!

  12. Ok... so I decided to call the USCIS for the first time to check on the status of the petition versus the internet. I called the 18003755283 number to see what I can find out... and it asked for me to enter in my receipt number. This might be a silly question, but my receipt number starts with a WAC.... how do I find out the info? I tried just entering the 10 digit numbers, but it said that it wasn't enough digits. Am I missing something?

you got your NOA1 less then one month ago, what kind of info were you looking for?

I was actually just curious how the process worked via phone. Checking to see if it gives the same response as if I checked it online. just for.. if I were curious and couldn't get to a computer, I could always check it out over the phone (since I check the status everyday.) It's more or less preparing myself for once everything is rolling.
