  1. Sooo... I've been watching the Loomis website with the tracking number they gave me and there hasn't been an update since Friday. My husband's passport is scheduled to be at the Dorval Drop-off point and since Friday it's saying "Arrived In Loomis Transfer Facility". I'm assuming that it means it's still not ready to be picked up, so how long does it usually take to be ready after this point?

  2. His passport will be with the Do Not Open envelope when he goes to DHL no worries, my wife and step kids just picked up theirs in Dorval a couple weeks ago. Note that online the DHL (well really Loomis) tracking said Undeliverable as a status... that just means it is ready for them to be picked up.

    Okay thank you.

That saves me from getting a few grey hairs. :)

  3. So my husband was just approved for his visa at the Montreal consulate today and he's scheduled to pick up his visa in the DHL pick-up point in Dorval in two days. When he was at the interview they didn't give him his passport back. Does he get that back when he goes to pick it up? I hope he doesn't need it to pick it up.

  4. Did he have it down at his local RCMP or an RCMP "approved" office?

Do you know if it says that the National Criminal Records Repository was searched?

He had it done at his local police station since the instructions stated that he could have it done there.

I'm not sure about the NCRR, he asked them for a Canada Wide Criminal Search for immigration purposes when he applied, and that is what was given to him.

  5. So my husband and I mailed all of his forms to the NVC. We have been married and living together in Canada for two years. I came back to the US back in May to find a job and prepare for his arrival.

He had gone down to the local police station to get his certificate, which stated "the following states that our research shown no criminal record to anyone with that name, born on the said day, in Canada". Today, I had gotten a letter from the NVC that says "10 - Canada Police Certificate - The Police Certificate that you have submitted does not fulfill the necessary requirements."

I called the NVC to find out what was up with that, and the woman that I talked to could not understand why this was rejected. She told me that she'd have to talk to her supervisor and that I'd have to call back in a few weeks. So this is going to set things back by AT LEAST another month. It's getting harder and harder being apart every day.

I really don't understand what is wrong with the police certificate. Any help on this would be appreciated.

  6. Hello all. :)

I'm a 26 year old college student from Michigan. And the love of my life is from Quebec, Canada. I just wanted to say a quick thank you to whoever set up this website, because I have a feeling it will save us a lot of headaches as we travel our journey together. :)
