He cannot have you deported and if you have not anything illegal in this country, the courts/jail are not a possibility.

Look in phone book or on-line for a local women's shelter and/or legal aid --- they can provide advice on getting divorced.

If you want to go back to India, that is your choice and he cannot stop you.

Please, please do not get pregnant.

Hi, my name is monica..i married 4 years ago in my country india... i came to usa about 6 month ago. getting 10 years green card, after coming here i came to know abt the truth of my husband, and the last 6 month has been like a hell for me here, i m trying to escape from this country now, cos my husband has mentaly threaten me soo much, that even my hello get abuse to him now.. he hates meeeeeeeeee. i dont want to go in detail , i just want to say, i might get mentally upset soon, he is threating me , and he is now calling me that i m mentally sick, which i fell that one day i would bcos of him. last night he said he will deport me to my country , and my 10 year card will be of no use. i dont know what he is trying to do.. but i think he is going to do something, i have nobody here..i dont know anyone. i dont know how to go to court, how to contact here...i dont know what to do, i just this site at internet i might get some advise..i dont care about my 10 year green card cos i m not here for green card i was here for him.. i want to go back to my country , but he is saying i will be facing court and some jail..... i dont know why. i have not even done anything to him.........help me......thanks

Monica, first of all take a deep breath, 2nd he can't DEPORT you. Are you being abused? He doesn't have to hit you for it to be abuse...abuse comes in many forms. Do you have a friend, neighbor or family member here that you can reach out to?
