To wait for the next one.
And to update them if you change your address.
I posted on my wordpress blog all the sample letters that we received from USCIS, NVC and US embassy. you can click on the link below..
-
We recived our NAO2 on 4/6 after 192 days...so happy!! Still waiting for hard copy. I m curious...does USCIS update online things like when NVC receives and when NVC sends out, when Embassy receives, when packet 3 is sent out, etc?
Thanks everyone!!
I didn't see any further update from the USCIS website from the day they forwarded the petition to the NVC. But I received my fiance received a letter from NVC 9 days later and and I received a letter from the embassy 7 days later..

My fiance's original was kept by the DFA in issuing her passport. Will the photocopy pass muster at the interview?
If not, is there way to get a duplicate on-line, via the mail? It's a 3-hour bus ride for her back to the NBI in a neighboring city.
THanks for the assist.
The original is required. If i remember it right, one of the letters i got from the USEM said that, if you will submit a photocopy.. you still have to bring the original ones and show them..

Hello all VJ'ers! In reading the various threads I'm slightly confused. Now that I've received my NOA2 and waiting for NVC to forward my case on to Manila what I want to know is will packet three be mailed or must we download it? As nears as I can tell all I really need is DS-156 for my fiance in the Philippines as well as the remaining list of birth certificate, police record, cenomar, proof of on-going relationship, etc. Obvously my part is the financial stuff--tax returns, I-134 I think it is, to show I can support her, etc. So the question is do I download (need link if you have it handy) or do we wait for snail mail of packet 3? Am I forgetting anything?
Thanks everyone! This site is pretty amazing. It has been oustandingly helpful through this process and I'm very appreciative.
Best wishes,
Steven & Grace
hello! yeah, you have to download the form from the internet. you can download it from this website... http://manila.usembassy.gov/wwwfk1en.pdf I dont think that there is any packet coming. I've heard that before, the USEM used to send the packet with instructions and everything. I didnt get anything. But they did sent me a one-page letter. They just provided me the website with complete instructions and links where we can download the forms...
good luck..

My girl will be there April 16-17, interview on April 27. I am sure she would like to know someone else doing the same things there.
how was the interview?
-
Thank you so much for sharing your experience here. It is very helpful!
Question, why do so many people arrive so long before their scheduled interview time?
The instruction that you'll get from the embassy will say that you have to be an hour before the scheduled interview. My schedule then was 7am. But knowing that the embassy is still close before 7am, i decided to go just 15 minutes earlier.. I was there around 6:45 and didnt encounter any problem..
by the way, i posted my K1 interview experience at wordpress.. you can click on the link below... I also posted almost all the letters i got from USCIS, NVC and USEM...
good luck..

Hi,
I don't mean bad when I say this so don't all jump on me.....but why do most filipinas always ask questions like this? It makes them sound like they just were searching for an American victim to pounce on!! When you talk about "looking for a certain race" in makes you sound like gold diggers!! So many filipina post like this and it makes them all sound the same!!! Hard to respect this style. Thats maybe why there are SO many filipina girls married to their "grandpa". You know the ones you see here that are so young and pretty looking with some old fat white guy? WTH! Funny, I live in manilla for over 5 years and almost never saw filipina girls with older filipino guys....but let a fat white guy walk down the street and he was like fresh meat in the jail......I guess he just looked like a big DOLLAR sign!! Here's a hint, filipinas.......clean up your image by having some self respect!!
can't find the forum entitled "what if there was no USA?" Was it a fourm , anyway...
by the way, i just want to add this... This is not just "self-respect" we are talking about.. its also about respect for the country and respect for fellow filipinas...
coz we really cannot avoid stereotyping...

wow.. this attracts attentions! Well, honestly, i thought of the same thing whenever i see filipinas with older white guys. During the interview at the embassy, i've noticed that theres a few who could not even express themselves in english. Not learning english is NOT an embarrassing thing. But i just wonder how they can fall to the guy (or how the guy fall to them) when they couldnt even tell them what they think and feel. Isn't just amazing how it works??
And also, sometimes it felt so cheap when you are next to these bunch of people who seem to have $$$ in their eyes.. I don't mean bad to people who did it in good faith... Its just that there are really someone who do this money and opportunity.. and Its not like a new story.. Its an old story that's why we go through all the process to make sure that the relationship is genuine.. still, how can the consul really tell??
As long as we know that we are not one of them... then its good.. everything is good... right?

hi there people,
1 copy of ds 156k filled up handwritten ( and 1 blank extra copy)
ques: can i fill up now the name of my fiance, my name and signature then the date using the date of my interview under the box ( do not write below this line)
2 copies of ds 157 filled up handwritten ( 1 validated from BDO) ( and will bring 2 balnk extra copies of ds 157)
2 copies of ds 156 filed up hand written ( will bring 2 blank extra copies of ds 156)
ques: since we moved our interview schedule, we filled up all ds using a date near to our original date of schdule wil it be fine?)
Whoa, don't do that, I just came upon a comment on USEM website that clearly states that typed or hand written DS156 will not be accepted, they request that these forms be filled out online and printed with inkjet or Lazer printer.
http://manila.usembassy.gov/wwwhniv1.html
scroll down to DS156 to read about it.
Hope I caught you in time
I filled out mine online. But i think they are not strict about it. During my day at the embassy, I noticed a few people who hand wrote them. And also there are a few people who forget to bring these forms. So, they were given blank forms for them to fill out..

Hello everyone! just want to share my k1 experience.
My K1 visa has already been approved. I had been really frustrated to find more info about K1 when we were still under the process. Some blogs have been useful. Now, that I completed the K1 process, I wish to share my own experience. The blog includes the requirements, med exams, questions on the interview, CFO and more. I hope that it will help. Thanks. Cheers and good luck..
the blog is on the link below..
My K1 journey click on this link
____
the link below is from the official website of USEM in Manila. Its the list of the requirements. Just thought that i'll post it for the sake of everyone who just started the journey on K1...
PS... I wish to know more about the process of the adjustment of status. I'm leaving for the US very soon. Replies will be greatly appreciated.. Thanks in advance...

[/sizeHow long does it take for the usembassy in manila to invesigate the papers for k1 visa?
im wondering how long does it take the imbestigation of k1 visa after your papers been approeve in state..can anyone know the answer?
Once the petition is forwarded to US Embassy in Manila, it will be mostly up to you. If you have all the requirements then you can call the US Embassy to schedule the interview. But if you don't have all the requirements yet, you have to work on it..
Anyway, mine took about 5. It could have been earlier (by 2 to 3 weeks) if i completed all the requirements earlier. By the time i received the letter from US Embassy, the only requirement i have not done is the med exam. Bec i have school, i wasn't able to do it right away..

About your first question, don't write anything on the line that says "Don't write below." But they will actually asked you to fill it out but I think its safer to follow the instruction. Anyway, its easy to write the names and signature later than to repeat filling out the forms...
Question #2, i think there's no problem about when you filled up the forms..
I am not familiar about your case about the affidavit of support. But i think that because you have a co-sponsor, its OK to write N/A....
To make you relax a bit, i want to share my experience at the embassy. I also brought everything that i can and organized it so neatly. I also have the sample invitations, copies of passport and all. But you know what, they didn't even look at it, they didn't even ask anything about it... I was just asked a few questions then the consul said the visa is approved. So just chill. As long as you know your love story, it won't go wrong....
Oh but they did look at the pictures. What i did was, i paste pictures on the bond paper and i wrote captions and date on it..
Good luck!!

Hello
This is regarding 3 questions I have on this form
32. Do You Intend to work in the U.S?
should i check yes and write down, After I obtain my EAD.
33. Do You Intend to Study in the U.S?
My fiancee will be going to school but she is not yet accepted, should i check yes and write down name and location?
32. Answer "Yes, with authorization" OR "no"
33. Answer "Yes" and give name of school, OR "no"
For the K-1 visa this is basically an "NA" question. You could probably answer "NA K-1 visa" and be just fine. These answers do not obligate for the future. Whether you say yes or no, she can change her mind later.
I also got confused about these particular numbers. I answered NO to both even if i plan to work and study in the U.S. Because if you answer yes, they asked more question. And i wouldnt be able to provide the answer bec i do not have employer yet and i do not know which university will i take my masters.. so... thats it... but i think, "Gary and Alla" is right. The question is really not applicable to us, K1 Visa holders/applicants.

I've looked in other forums but can't find an answer.
Wondered what the real time period is for a visa to be delivered if the interview goes smoothly. The manila embassy website says 7 to 10 business days. Is that true or are things running faster/slower?
Would like some feedback. My fiance has her interview schedule for April 23 and wants me there. If I am going to buy a plane ticket, just want to get an idea for return date to avoid additional costs.
Thanks, Jim
i got my visa exactly a week later. Like i was interviewed tuesday, and i got the visa the next tuesday.

Thanks everyone
Yes I am confused with all this..lol....we are getting married here in the US. I will be sending the I-129F next week. As far as getting her passport, wouldnt it be good that she goes and gets it now??? Or would it better to wait and get it when she gets notification of her interview, or does it matter?
I have filled out the I-129F, but I need to read more on this site to make sure Im doing everything correctly, then I will send the paperwork in. Sorry if I sound confused, but being a perfectionist, Im afraid Im gonna miss something and screw this all up.
OK.....off to read some more. Thanks again everyone
Kirk
She can get a passport now if she wants.
yeah, she can get a passport anytime. If she's asked for the purpose of the travel. I advice that she'll say its tourist because if she say that the purpose of her travel is to get married abroad she will be required to attend the CFO Guidance and Counseling BEFORE she can get her passport. THE CFO COUNSELING IS REQUIRED but she can attend to it anytime when she already has the passport. Because the CFO can already put a sticker/stamp and attach certificate to her passport. If she doesn't have a passport yet, she'll be ask to come back with her passport so that they can put a stamp on it..
You and your fiancee can do it. It might seem complicated. But its not, really. Just follow the instruction on I-129 as strictly as you can.. and take one step at a time..
I posted a blog about my k1 experience... you might find some info useful... you can click on the link below
Good luck!

it sounds like ur doing just fine. the screw up would be in hiring a lawyer when you can do it faster and better your self.
Cheers
The passport is not necessary YET but she can start completing the requirements now while you are also filing the I-129.. The passport and other documents will be required for the interview which will be in a about 4-6 months after you applied the I-129F. the complete list and instruction will be found on this site.. --> http://manila.usembassy.gov/wwwfk1en.pdf

Hi All,
Im a bit confused and shocked today. I received my NOA2 today just 30 days after my NOA1. I thought for sure it was a RFE but to my surprise it was not! So its caught me a little off guard I didnt really think i would see it for a couple more months but the CSC must be burning through them. So my question is what is my next step? The NOA2 says its only valid from 3/18/2009 thru 7/17/2009. I thought the next step was for the I-129 to be sent to the NVC but the notice says it was forwarded to the listed consulate. So do I wait to hear from the consulate? (Manila) Or do I make contact with them myself?
In my case, it was forwarded to NVC. Soon later, we got a letter from NVC informing that they already forwarded the petition to the US Embassy in Manila. A week later, I got a letter from the Embassy stating that I am eligible for the interview. A few days after that, i did my med exam and called the Embassy to set the appointment for interview. If you want to see the sample letters, you can click on the link below.
Good luck!

Hi everyone
My name is Kirk and my fiancé is Jane, she is from the Philippines and we met in December, well way before that but just chatted as friends and started a relationship in December. I went to meet her in February for 3 weeks fell in love and decided to get married. I have downloaded all the forms I need and will start to fill them out shortly. Jane has got her ID's...Birth Certificate, Baptismal, SSS and also has her NBI report (police background check).
I have 2 questions.....1) are the Id's Jane has now sufficient???
2.) Does she need to get her passport before I petition????
Thank You:)
First, where do you intend to get married? Because if you want to get married in the Philippines, the requirements are different. But if you intend to get married in the US, you should apply for I-129F otherwise known as Petition for Alien Fiance. Read the complete instruction. You can find it on the internet. As far as I know, the I-129F requires that you have meet in person 2 years before the application but there are certain cases that allow it. The instruction for I-129F has everything you need to know..
He has K1 on his Handle Side
Yeah, i see that actually. But he seems lost (which made me lost, too). It seems like they are completing the requirements for the interview while he did not even file the petition yet. It made me think that maybe they are preparing for a marriage in the Philippines. For his question #2, I'll answer that Jane doesn't need the passport, YET. But she'll need if she already have the schedule for the interview.

HI everyone
I am interested to know what exactly about DELBROS and AIR21 because based on the forum at vj it say's that no longer Delbros. So when i do the payment where should am i suppose to pay DELBROS or AIR21? i just don't want to waste time and money so any info would be greatly appreciated. Thank's in advance
P
That's right. Beginning feb 2, 2009, the Air21 is the official courier service provider. And you'll pay for it at the Embassy right after your interview..
There's an Air21 booth inside the embassy..
-
can anyone help me please,..
I tried tracking Air21 for the visa, and it says Tracking Number not found.. What does that mean? does it mean they didn't send the visa yet?
Please help..I am worried..
It happened to me also. It means that the Embassy didn't turnover the visa to air21 yet. check again a few days later.

Hello Everyone!
Barely 1 month only me here. I went here as a K1 visa. Suddenly, I discovered he was having online affair to a new Cebuana Lady.
Is there anything I can do. I will go back to the Philippines. I dont want to have problem here.
Wanted to know what should I do. Should I go to the us embassy and tell the reason why we didnt get marry?
I needed an englightment.
Thank you very much in advance.
r_29
I am sorry to hear that, r_29...
I agree with everyone, try to talk to him about it and maybe tell him that you intend to come back to Philippines if he keeps doing that.
I don't think you have to let the embassy know that the marriage didn't push through if you really decided to come back. But you know that K1 visa is a one-entry visa right? if you come back to Philippines, and he wants you back, you'll have to undergo the whole process again...

Need Help!
My concern is in the #7 of I-134 form .. my fiance was laid off from his recent job 3weeks ago and he has no work for now.. the Noa2 just arrived this week and sooner or later we are about to fill-out that form. What will we write to the #7? Does it affect our K1 application?
thank you for reading and for thos who will post.
Found it.. http://ducecoop.com/interview/#flow Click on the "Flow of the Embassy Interview." Also, you might find his info accurate. But of course, it will not be 100% similar to your case. But the flow will be quiet similar...

Yup, it might really affect the application because I think the embassy is particular to that. I've read a blog about it. cant find it now. I'll search for it again and give you the link later..
If you are really being doubtful, consider having a co-sponsor. You can start asking for co-sponsor thing coz i'm really not familiar with that..

I guess... just don't make things too complicated... just follow all the instruction and most likely if the documents is sufficient, you will be approved in 6 months..
