Let me give u my example , i did send both AOS and DS 230 together for my wife and it worked in 2009. I did the same thing for my dad now but i got checklist or RFE this time .So GOOD luck .

Hi I already paid my AOS and it said PAID when I signed in to check on it at the nvc website

I have all my AOS information already

But I am still waiting on all my husband information for Ds230, I wont get all of the paperwork until next Wednesday and I most likely wont mail it in at being that i am getting it toward the end of the week I want to mail everything off during the beginning of the week during working business hours..

So do you guys think I should wait and send in both AOS and Ds230 together or should I just go ahead and send in my AOS since it is paid and ready to go??

I read on here most ppl send them both in together I am wondering why?

I send my AOS for dad CR5 Visa and got REF regarding the income as they say doesn't meet the poverty guideline.I had 4 members to support including my dad. My income is around 27048.But i include my assest that was enough in my view .But I guess they don't care about the assest . My question here is can i include my wife income as a household income ,which i did't include before. Beside that do i have to send them entirely new AOS again or what ?

I sent my dad AOS and DS 230 together. I sent both AOS and DS 230 in different envelope but i put both in one fedex envelop and sent to NVC.NVC generated REF for AOS but says didn't receive my DS 230.So i am wandering what happen to my dad DS 230.Did they lost it , throw in trash as i sent them together or sending me back to sent with corrected address. Please advise me anyone who had come accross with this problem. I will be greatful .

Hey guys , finally iam done with immigration process for my wife .She got visa and coming soon to USA. I am so thankful to all of you whose topics and suggestion helped me a lot starting from filling I -130 form to NVC and embassy process. Thankyou for the Visajourney boards member and administrators. Hi Everyone,

I have some questions that I need to get answers to before I can send my I-864 AOS packet. My AOS 70.00 bill fee has been processed and paid and last night I have paid my IV Bill fee of 400.00 online which is in process. Today I am organizing my AOS packet which I want to send out. Below are some questions I need answers that would certainly help me out.

1. It says on the James SHORTCUTS checklist that with the AOS packet attach the I-864 BARCODED COVER SHEET, is this the same DOCUMENT COVERSHEET that I received once my 70.00 AOS bill fee was processed and paid.

2. Now I know once my 400.00 dollar IV bill fee is processed and paid I am expected to receive another document coversheet do I have to wait for my IV bill fee document cover sheet to attach it to this I-864 packet.

3. It says that submit your pay stubs from the most recent 6 months, and/or a letter from your employer. I am attaching only 2 paystubs because I just recently got a new job and have been there only 2 months so I only got 2 paytubs, however I also did get a letter from employment verification as well, Do I still need to attach 6 months of paystubs???.

I was also laid off from job and had to get new job. After 2 week of new job i send AOS without any paystub , thank god it was approved without any RFE.But i send employment letter from my recent employer4. The other concern that I have is when I first filed the I-130 application which was back in December of 2008, I worked for a different employer than and I put down their information on the I-130 packet, but I recently changed my employer and by submitting my new employers paystubs to the I-864packer, will that make a difference at all???.

I had same problem like urs so far it did not trouble me .

5. My wife who is the beneficiary back overseas, can she fill out the DS-230 packet now or I have to wait till NVC receives my I-864 packet. Also since I am her choice of agent now, can I print out the DS-230 form and mail it to her and she can fill it out and mail it back to me or she has to fill it out herself and mail direct to NVC.

u can do it but she needs to sign on ds 230 part 1

6. And say she mails the DS-230 form back to me, that means all the supporting documents such as Police report, birth certificate etc will be sent to me and then I will send all those documents to NVC myself.

I would appreciate if someone can answer these questions because I am eager to send my I-864 out in a day or two, and until I dont have answers to these questions I wont be comfortable at all. Thank you very much and I pray everyone meets their loved ones soon.

I believe interview dates would be scheduled starting next week on Mon till Fri. But I had read in the few of the posts that VJ'ers who have had their cases completed recently have already gotten their interview dates by calling NVC. I believe you should try calling them on Mon and Tue and im sure you will get a positive response. Wish you the best of luck for your journey!!!

In my case it was just a week after sending AOS and DS 230 together. I did not get any RFE. I mailed my DS 230 and AOS in april 20 , NVC received on April 23 and my case was completed on may 1.

Hi Everyone , my case is complete on MAY 1 , 2009. Called AVR several times but i don't have interview date yet , how long it takes to get magic email with interview date on it. Talk with operator too but even they don't have any . They say may is full for embassy and probably in june .Can u guys give me some relief how long it takes to get interview date. Thank you.

Hello everyone....I just have a few questions that I have concerns about. I am about to send in I-130 packet and I want to make sure that I have everything I should include.

When writting on the back of the passport style photo, is it really necessary to write in pencil or felt tip pen?? I can understand they don't want a regular pen to press through the photo, but anyhow I wondered if they were THAT picky.

Also, thoughts on stapling or paper clip papers together? Did anyone insert two hole punches on the top of all the material (I know I'm being a bit ####### now)?

My name has changed since I got married, I now carry my husbands name. I will be including a copy of the un-expired passport with the OLD name. Also, my birth certificate, driver license and social security (both with NEW name on it). Should I have gotten a NEW passport with my new name?

Lastly, I have two letters/affidavits from family to support us. Should I include phone bills? Perhaps, emails? What about pictures? Any advice would be appreciated.

In my case

1) with photo, i wrote with pencil -name n date of birth and put on small ziplock

2) i did not send marriage photos but a many emails, chat logs and phone bill

3) use paper clips which will be easy for them to disassemble

My wifes case has been approved and has been forwarded to NVC. This past week we were also assigned a NVC case number. However, I am concerned about one thing. Our original marriage certificate ( Nikahnama) is what they call it back home in Pakistan has an error on it. On the day of the Wedding my wifes birthdate was printed incorrectly. The year was off by 1 digit. The original marriage certificate is in our native language. However, it was corrected by crossing out the incorrect year and rewriting the correct year. However, the english version of the marriage certificate has the correct information and is also notarized by the local authorities there back home. My concern is when my wife goes for her interview at the embassy, I hope she does not face any conflicts or any delay in getting her visa just because the original marriage certificate has crossed out markings on it and the english version of the marriage certificate has no error on it. Plz if anyone has had any similar problems in the past, since my wifes case is still in the process I would like fix this mistake before facing any future problems. Thank you.

Better u don't take a chance ok . If u can get another original one with it will be better. Otherwise i am pretty not sure , i had same problem and the authorities who issue it had mistake and they corrected it n signed on the place where they had corrected.

hey guys , this is a story about my friend .

My friend came to usa on DV lottery and now is ready to file N 400 for citizenship. He was married before he came here but he did not bring his wife n two kids five years ago. He just file DV as single and came alone to USA. Now as he is going to apply for citizenship what should he do ? Does he has to put his wife name and kids or file as single again. He is too worried abt all this. Beside later he is going to apply for his wife and kids I-130 for cr1 visa too.

What conquences does he have to face and how much trouble he have to deal with immigration process later for his wife as i know being married he came here single.

It doesn't matter as long as u send those in right address. I used fedex provided envelope.

Do i need to send letter from my employment. I am afraid to ask one as i just started my job . I would appreciate to hear from you guys.
