We're in the same boat,my husband just passed away a month ago. I came in the US last April 2008 and I got my Conditonal Green Card in May of 2009. I was supposed to take the citizenship this coming July 2012 but the attorney that i saw told me that I cant qualify to do that this year. The reason was I have to be married NOT WIDOW at the time I am taking the citizenship. So in this case I have to wait for the 5year period before I can take my citizenship whic is on November 2013...I hope this helps and that others will help.

I have a question about my US citizenship. My journey to become a US citizen is still not over.

Immigrated to US in 2009 (Conditional residency)

Applied to remove conditions in December 2010 (jointly)

My husband passes away in April 4 and I get approval on 10 year card in April 11 (the day of his burial )

Someone was telling me that I can apply for citizenship right after 3 years of residency. However, I thought I needed to be married for 3 years and residing in US to be eligible.

To my understanding now I need to wait till 5 years elapse to apply...

Please, help

I'm still trying to find out whether we can submit my son's passport application by mail or if we have to appear at the consulate in person. Anyone know the answer?

Hi! You can not submit your infant son's passport application by mail. A parent or representative of the baby has to go to the Philippine Embassy in person. We also wanted to apply a passport for our infant son by mail but they said they do not allow it anymore.

You can only send the application for Report of Birth by mail but not the Passport Application! Goodluck!

Why not open the envelope and see if something is wrong with the thing inside... If none,probably the missing corner was just caused by improper handling,,,sometimes envelopes get crampled and torn and all that.

Hahahaha,i had my visa picked up at the USEM and it was given to me bare naked,hindi kaya NAKAENVELOPE so malay ko ba na may nakatatak pala na di mo pwede buksan.

one thing i did notice, different consulates require different things....why?....i have no clue. but, below is the L.A. consulate forms & requirements.

I agree,they require different things in different consulates,doesn't sound logical to me at all. Somebody has to explain about this #######! Just make things confusing! Philippine Embassy in all different states here in the US is still Philippines Embassy and not a Singapore Embassy or something so why bother to make it all different??? Grrrrr

The ammendment of passport can be done by mail. i just sent mine.

What happens to your passport when it is already ammended? Babaguhin ba nila passport mo or same pa rin ung passport? Di pa kasi ako nakakapag submit ng Ammendment of Passport Application eh...thanks

I did mine last year and you do not have to travel for the Report of marriage application you can do it by mail just complete the requirements and send correct fees. Check their website www.philipineconsulatela.org and speak with one of the staff for clarifications.After that processed approved (report of marriage) you go back to consulate in new york for amendment/renewing your passport.Goodluck.

If you apply for Ammendment of Passport, do they have to renew ur passport or they will just put stamp on it?

)Okey lang ang rebond kapag expert gaya ng David salon or Ricky reyes...but only recommended sa mga dry haired...Kasi iplantsa yung buhok ng bongang bonga,so pag di maganda ang moisturizer na ginamit eh sirang sira nga ang buhok!paalala lang po!

I had my hair rebonded at David's Salon and they did a good job...It's just na overtime lilipas din ung kagandahan na dulot ng rebonding kasi hindi naman permanent ung effect eh...

How many times po ba mag aaplay ng mayonnaise in 1 month, once a month lang ba? Haba rin kc ng hair ko pero ng pumunta ako dto sa US pumangit at naging dry n kc i think masyadong malakas ung shampoo dito . mahal pa paparlor....hehehe

After a rebond that totally ruin my hair..i did it every other day. To give you an idea how worst it was.. after rebonding, naging curly ang lower half nang hair ko na parang sa igorot. Below shoulder length ang hair ko, nang kumulot, hanggang chin ko na lang. It was really a nightmare.

I used the mayonnaise every other day for the next two weeks. As may hair improve, binawasan ko frequency. Naging once a month nang medyo naka recover na. Then i stopped... I shifted to henna.

You just need to tolerate the smell. Pero maganda ang effect.

Relaxing and rebonding really ruins hair to the max!!! I had my hair relaxed in Pinas and that was a big mistake coz my hair got coursed and really dry...so i had it rebonded to make it look beautiful for a longer period of time.

But then again,even a bigger mistake coz after almost a year my hair got a bit curly and dry! Hated it!

Now I'm giving my hair a break from all that relaxing and rebonding for almost 2 years now,just using nice hair stuff to kind of get it back to normal soft and bagsak hair.

I don't use shampoo everyday coz it dries hair,i just use conditioner pag di ko sinashampoo hair ko.

Natawa naman ako sa sinabi ni rheanick na kumulot hair like igorot's kulot hair! Tindi non ha!

Kaya don sa mga balak magparebond,make sure lang na maintain ang rebonding kasi you will just get disgusted pag inistop nyo,papangit kasi hair!

after recieving the visa..you have 90 days to marry your fiancee/fiance right? so maybe when she recieved the visa,OR before ther recieved the visa they are already having a Rocky Relationship.....

Fiancee Visa is good for 6months...Once you entered USA,you have 90 days to marry your fiance/fiancee...

good day to all! i have question please reply me i have my expired fiancee visa from my past ex fiancee last march 2009 then now i have new meet of a american national and we are both happy and married so what will i do? is the NVC will approve our spouse visa or CR1/K3? or am i need to surrender my packet my first expired fiancee and apply for spouse? That's great! How would you apply that to your hair? Do you have to do that after shampoo and conditioner or after shampoo then conditioner followed by mayonnaise? Haven't tried that before so, i dunno and maybe im gonna try that since we have lots of mayonnaise in stock...lol

Apply mayonnaise before you take your shower. I wrap my hair with plastic or shower cap. I let it stay for 1 minutes - 30 minutes. Then shampoo and conditioner.

Another reminder, minimize your shampoo usage. Get more with conditioning your hair rather than shampooing.

hi anyone here who had interview in manila USEM and pick up the k1 visa to USEM instead of delivering at home? would that be allowed? ??

also on ds 156 question when do u intend to arrive in the US? Can i just put month and year using ballpen? we dont really know the exact date that im going to my fiance so i just want to know if its alright to put just month and year using ballpen? also on page 2 of ds 156 i put SELF on who prepare the form instead of NA? would that be ok? i didnt put anything i just put self on name? am i correct?

When i had my USEM interview and got approved,i asked the consul for the visa to be picked up and accepted my letter. It only took 5days and my visa was all ready for pick up...

I highly agree with this. My hair was ruin by too much hair coloring, and several rebonding. I used mayonnaise and it was effective.

Yes, she can attend the cfo seminar even before the interview and after the seminar she will be given a seminar certificate. Better to attend the seminar after she gets her visa for her to make only one trip because she will not be able to get the cfo sticker/stamp without her passport with visa in it.
