Hello friends in Visa Journey!!!

I have a question to see if anyone in here can help me:

My husband (citizen) applied to bring my son (his stepson) to live with us in the US, and we have the interview on July, for your experience how long does it take after the boy interview to get the visa on hands. I am just booking and buying the flight ticket and I would like to know the time frame.

I got the "ordered card production" on june 24th and I got the greencard on july 6th, well less than 2 weeks, I think there is no delay anymore.

Hi my friends..

I want to share with all of you my happiness.... I just got my greencard in the mail!!!

I havent done my time line, but I can tell you that my interview was june 24th, on june 30th I got my welcome letter and today July 06th I got my card!!! I started the process on february 15th!

I can not believe such a fast thing!!!!

I wish good luck for all of you who are still in the process .....

No they did not, they said when I would get the welcome letter I have to make an infopass and go and get my passport sigh, and I got the appoiment, but it is for july 14, which means more waiting!

I have a question, is this letter valid to apply for the Social Security Card??????, Anyone here that have done that before???? , I never got my EAD so, I havent gone there to aply yet.

Hello vj family,

I have a question, for people that have done their interview, I have my interview this june 24th in Orlando, and checking the list from USCIS, they are asking to me to bring "A certified copy of your Marriage Document issued by the appropiate civil authority"

I am not sure in what do they are asking for??? is it just my original document of marriage or is something else???

Hi friends!

Kim I did the same I bought three ring binder, with the plastic pages, and something that I am doing is bring all the original with its copy, like birth certificates, marriage documents, my husby divorce document, because I have read that they could ask for copies to keep, I know we already sent but I am doing just in case. I have also cars insurance, the car that he bought for me is in both names, joint bank account,apartment lease, and all that kind of stuffs, this week I am going to print a bounch of pics that we have in the computer from the digital camera, i have tried taken pictures whereever we go out, with his parents who we visit every month, and well trying to do our best. I am not really scared because we have been together for 7 months (I got here oct 16/ 2008) just 7 month today! but for us it seems to be much more.

I sent all my paperwork in feb 14, and we havent heard nothing about I-130 yes, I have read here that you will know something about that just in the interview day.

My interview is in june 24,

I am really sorry that it happen to you, I dont understand how can be people so bad in this world, it is nice that she killed herself, after this she can stay in US, but she is going to be illegal, there is not way to have a normal life here, even if she try to marry someone else it wont be any easy with USCIS to her......and you are going to find someone who really loves you, you will see!!!

ohhok, you should have received that letter yet, you know wht happen to me, that mail that I did not receive in the first time that they sent, was because my name wasnt in the apt complex mail box, so the smart mail lady sent back my mail! yesah they leave all kind of junk in our mail box, but just the most important thing she sent back! I was so mad when I realized it was happening, finally we added my last name in the mail box and i got the letter when was sent the second time, if I were you I would call to the immigration center, and say that you are worried because it is ging to be almost 2 months since your biometrics were taken and you have not get anything, they are going to tell you that you have to wait, but just ask them to make a request to see what happen, if something was lost in mail they will send you again.

But it is nice that I least you received your EDA and AP, I dont have that because I did not send those forms because I though I had to pay fees for them, and I did not have that money, and later when I found this website I realized that it is free when you send when you I-485, well I can not work yet and I feel really bored at home sometimes, I really can not wait to get out all this paper work and worries, and finally get a job and make the life that I was used in my country. Are you working now? if yes was it easy to get one with the authorization?

Well, I sent my I-130 and I485 in feb 13, about 2 weeks later I got my biometrics appoiment, after the biometrics were taken, (march 14) I tried to open my case in USCIS website and I finally did, and surprise! it said that my case was in hold because they have sent me initial evidence request in feb 26 (which mail I never received) so in that day (it was march 16) I called to USCIS 1800, and I made a request telling that I havent receive that mail that it said in the website, so they said I had to wait that they will send that again, I was so worried because I did not know what they were asking for, and in customer service they said they did not know, so I had to wait until I get the mail again, well about 3 weeks later I got the letter, and they were asking for some taxes information from my husby and a letter from the company where he works, and also I had to send my medical, which I did not send in the beginning, just because I was so confuse, as you know all those paper work are confusing.

Well I finally sent all that they were asking for, that they called "initial evidence". 2 weeks later I got my interview appoiment, the interview is on june 24th. Yes almost 2 months of waiitng but at least I know when it is, which is good!

When were taken your fingerprinter? have you checked your status in USCIS web site?

That is truth, you sent to Chicago, but when they got they sent to Missouri, there is where my case is, I sent all my paper work in feb 13 and I got the interview appoiment in may 1, it was a little late because they asked me to send initial evidence (taxes information) and after I sent that they sent me the appoiment letter.

So you should be getting your appoiment pretty soon hopefully,

my husband and I sent a copy of W-2 and then USCIS sent us a letter saying that we had to send the IRS (Forms 8879, and 1040A) they are 3 pages, so in total we sent 4 pages. Dont miss any of the copy of your whole information from taxes. Also they asked in that letter for a letter from the company where my husby works which has to say Date of employment, nature of job, wages or salary earned, number of hours for week worked.

and we also had to send pay stubs of pay for the previous 6 months.

We sent that and was enough because after they got those they sent us the interview appoiment.

Hi VJFamily, first I want to thank you guys for being so helpful all the time, well yesterday I got my interview appoiment, it will be on June 24, ohh almost 2 months more being bored at home, I have a question, when I sent all my AOS paperwork, I didnt send my EA because I didnt know it woudnt cost, and I didnt have the money, well I didnt know about this web site either....some weeks later after I sent that I found this website and I realized I could send all those togeher for the same fee, well after that I decide just wait for the interview to see how long more would be the wating,,,now I now it is going to be a least 2 1/2 months more.. and I really want to find a job so badly... it is so frustaring being at home everyday, the days go by very slow to me nowdays....

Well I would like to know if you think I should apply for the EA or it would be better just wait until I get my greecard ..

thanks so much for your replay but I am kind of lost, you are talking about the page that open when you enter in USCIS your msc- number? I dont see there any update, my case just said that is in hold because they asked me for initial evidence, which I sent 3 weeks ago, I could open that page just after my biometrics were taken, and it is the only thing that I can see there.

thanks so much for your replay, yes in future we do want bring him but not yet, it is why I was thinking about apply for the turist visit, because I would not like to have problems with him being out the US for long time, you know how inmigration things are!!!!

I just was wondering if there is any way to my husband who is citizen or me could ask for him from here????
