  3. HI, I`M A US CITIZEN AND I LIVE ABROAD WITH MY WIFE, I DID (DCF) FOR A CR1 VISA AT THE EMBASSY IN COLOMBIA.......AND YESTERDAY WE RECEIVED MY WIFE`S PASSPORT WITH HER VISA...I GUESS WE WERE LUCKY TO HAVE GOTTEN THE VISA IN LESS THAN 3 MONTHS! FOR WHAT I UNDERSTAND ABOUT THE CR1 VISA, MY WIFE HAS 6 MONTHS TO GO TO THE STATES, BUT NOW MY QUESTION IS: CAN MY WIFE TRAVEL FIRST AND ME GO LATER, SINCE I`M IN COLLEGE AND I GRADUATE IN DECEMBER AND I `LL BE IMPOSIBLE FOR ME TO TRAVEL ANYTIME BEFORE DECEMBER...SO I TELL HER THAT SHE NEEDS TO GO BY HERSELF AND ONCE I`M DONE WITH SCHOOL I WILL MEET HER THERE......IS IT POSSIBLE , WILL SHE HAVE ANY PROBLEMS AT THE PORT OF ENTRY OR DO I HAVE TO BE WITH HER ON THAT DAY TO PREVENT ANY SETBACKS....HAS ANYONE GONE THROUGH THIS.....ANY PERSONAL EXPERIENCES????? I`LL APRECIATE ANY INPUT.

    HAVE A GREAT DAY!!!! PHILIPE

  6. I was advised that the appointment letter was mailed yesterday. Woo hoo!! Antway, the appointment package indicates that my fiancee needs to have blood work and x-rays done in advance of her appointment for the physical exam and interview. Does this mean she will likely be in Bogota for a few days for the interview process? The instructions were not clear at all, other than saying she must do the blood/x-rays first. How long before? How long for results?

If anyone could advise, I would be most grateful. Thanks in advance.

Joe, first of all she needs to call to make an appointment with one of the two doctors that are listed on the letter,I suggest you do this as soon as posible because they are pretty busy!!! or you will see yourself in a bit of a confrontation with them.....once you get a spot at the doctors, call the laboratory and tell them when is your appointment, they will tell you to go the same day of the doctor`s appointment but before that make sure your doctor`s appointment is in the afternoon so like that your wife can be at the laboratory at 6:00am (be ready long lines), results are sent directly to the doctor of your choice (same day). From my experience, i was able to have everything done the same day!!!

  7. philipe,

  9. Many embassies are different. My husband was in ap with another person. Both had 2nd interview schedule. My husband was approved he was denied.

Countries like India do not call you in for a 2nd interview. They say your AP is complete turn in your passport for your visa or they call say that you were denied.

    Have you called the DOS?

I want to say you will be just fine!

HI, I POSTED A FEW WEEKS BACK A QUESTION ABOUT MY CASE.....IT WAS ABOUT MY CASE BEING PUT INTO AP AFTER THE INTERVIEW AT THE EMBASSY (FEB 26/2009).....AT THE TIME WE WERE VERY FRUSTRATED BECAUSE WE DÌDN`T KNOW WHAT TO EXPECT AT THAT TIME...BUT NOW, WE RECEIVED A CALL THIS MORNING FROM THE EMBASSY, THE LADY TOLD US THAT ``ADMINISTRATIVE PROCESS`` WAS COMPLETED AND THAT WE HAD TO BUY A PIN NUMBER TO CALL AS SOON A POSIBLE TO SCHEDULE A FOLLOW UP APPOINTMENT!!! NOW THIS IS THE PART WHERE WE START WORRYING!!!! TO BE HONEST, I`M SORT OF A PESSIMIST AND I TEND TO THINK THE WORST....BUT HOPEFULLY U GUYS CAN HELP ME WITH THIS!!! MY QUESTION IS: WHAT ARE THE POSSIBILITIES OF THE CASE BEING DENIED AFTER BEING THROUGH AN ADMINISTRATIVE PROCESS, HAS ANYONE GOTTEN A DENIAL AFTER AP???

    GOD BLESS U ALL!!!

Hello Mrs Jibowu, did they say the reason for the denial of the second person??

You won't be denied unless there is some giant unlawful record on the part of your husband - you will be fine, I am bascially telling you you won't be denied - worst that can happen is you get put back in AP but that is rare as your embassy is pretty updated if it actually calls your home. So I think you should wait and your visa should be issued soon.

    God bless,

    Tam

tammy god bless u , u just made my heart beat again!!!! thank you for your input.........

  10. But didn't they tell you the day of the interview your application is rejcted or approved? they didn't say anything at all?

Hi cuchita, actually the interview went fine, all documents and proof in order, but at the end of the interview the consul told us that everything was fine but they needed to put the case into AP!!! and i kept on asking her what was wrong and she just said ``don`t worry everything is fine, this is just something we have to do and u will be contacted by us`` that was it....until today we got the call.

  12. Hi, I`m a USC and i`ve been living in colombia for the past 6 years and I married a wonderful lady, we have a beautiful baby boy and we just recently decided to go back to the states; I filled for a cr1 visa and on february of this year she had her final interview. The interview went fine so I thought, but strangely we got our case put into an internal administrative process!! I thought that was weird, since we had all documents in order!!! so I`m wondering if someone`s gone thru the same thing and how long did it take to get the visa??? I`ll appreciate any advise......thanks so much!!! philipe

  13. Hi, i`m an usc and i`m married to a wonderful colombian lady!!!!....i have been living in colombia for the past 6 years and just recently we decided that it was time to go back to the states, on january 13 /2009 i petitioned a cr1 visa and was approved on that day, went back to our city and 2 weeks later we received an appointment letter for her final interview!!!! up to here everything was going well....on february 26, we went to the embassy and waited for a couple of hours....finally the consul called her and asked 2 questions, 1 about our son and 2 about when were we planning to go back to USA, my wife looked at me and smiled, at that moment i said to myself WE GOT IT!!!! but all of a sudden, she pulled out a letter with the 221g box checked and had no more information on it!!!......i went back to the window and asked her what was wrong and she just smiled at me and said ``don`t worry everything is ok and i believe that your marriage is legit but we are going to put your case into an internal administrative process, you wife will be notified when this process is over!!!!!!! WHAT!!! ARE THEY KIDDING ME??? HOW CAN THEY PLAY WITH PEOPLE`S FUTURE LIKE THIS?? this is just insane......couples that are married because they really love each other, have kids and have a whole life together!!! those are the first ones to get the run around!!! my question: how long does this process take?? and what are they looking for??? i would appreciate any help or advice i could get...please i`m frustrated and confused!! philipe
