  1. Hello All, I'm from California and I go to Cuba via Mexico. I am planning on moving to Cuba at the end of October and living there for about a year as my fiancee's mother is very ill. We would like to get married in Cuba and then I gather I file for a K-3. I have found that I need all my papers but translated in spanish. All the references keep taking me back to Canada. unsure.gif I would like for an American who wed in Cuba to contact me as to how this paperwork s to be done. My fiancee does not live in Havana but about 12 hours away and the largest city near him is Holquin. This process is making me crazy. crying.gif You can reply to me by PM.

  2. Thank you for writing, you can write me anytime you like. I live in Southern California and through the assistance of a wonderful member of this site told me of an Immigration Attorney. It has cut the stress in half, well sort of. I have a long road ahead of me. I am happy you told me about getting married in Cuba as thats what we were going to do but now we wait. Everyday the laws are changing and changing in our favor. Right now I am applying for a K1. I hope next Easter we will all be together as a family as we should be free to be.

  3. Hi, I'm in this big time right now too, we are sending our afacavit of support tommorow i hope and going on thru the gauntlet of steps.. i will tell ytou right now, do a fiancee visa it is actually faster and much much less expensive!I KNOW!!! as much as I loved my marriage in Cuba hat ai had tyo go through and pay thru the nose for was outrageous and difficult, we are so lucky that the new laws will make it batter to travel as of now you cannot be prosecuted for cuba travel , no federal $ can be spent on it, so one stone at a time the wall is coming down. I can tell you the base fees and hassle alone would floor you. as someone else here said to late for me to know " save the money and buy a good ( Mac ) laptop!you'l need it. seriously, the K-3 is easier. maybe not so fast but nothing is .. I am in bliss thinking that :star: Aldeki may actually be here soon, of course I will needto go back to bring the papers, and have our anniversary but any way. feel free to email me, i answer when i can, and I' d love to have someone to talk with about this, it is tough to be doing it without any good cuban friends around who know the real answers, this forum is a lifesaver and such a a good thing. 4. I am new to this so please bear with me. I an engaged to be married to a man in Cuba. My passport shows my visits but each time I go I must go through another country as we cannot go direct from the US to Cuba. My first question is will Immigration recognizes the application process because of this or should I get married to him in Cuba and attempt to bring him here that way. I thank anyone for your help with this matter.

Your passport should also have stamps from when you entered and exited Cuba, so that shouldn't be an issue. I sometimes went through London to get to Morocco, and had stamps for both countries. You can still do the K-1.

As far as wondering if you should get married first, that's something probably best asked of people who have gone through Cuba in the past - they can tell you which way is faster/easier. Sometimes it varies by country. You can also read up on the different visas to see if there are any reasons you might prefer one over another.

Good luck - I wish you a quick and hassle free journey!

  5. Hi everyone in this Journey:

My fiance's visa interview is getting closer and I am getting little bit ansious. I was wondering if I go to Cuba to be with my fiancee at her visa appoinment and stay in Cuba with her, will the US allow me to flight out with her to Miami or Not. If anyone knows in the Cuban Forum, please share that information with me.

I am very happy that we are so close to be toguether again and I pray that every thing goes well for boths.

Also I want to express my gratitue to all the VJ people that had provided me with valuable information. I don't have words to express my gratitude.

    Thanks to all.

Hi, I can tell you that I was at the interview and they said it makes a difference as far as speediness. I filled out a form of inquiry at the Interest section, andit was included in his packet and I was allowed to be at the whole interview with him. They may not let you fly bacl together, especially if you are in Cuba without a license. I am not sure about that but I recommend that you go for the interview if you can!

  7. Hi All,

Salvador arrived 2/7/07 through JFK airport. He did get the temporary EAD at the POE. He did find work within 3 weeks of arrival. My mistake was that I didn't file the AOS package until the 90 days was almost up. 1st NOA 5/8/07 for AOS package. Biometrics on 5/30/07. Card approved on 6/6/07 and received the following Saturday, I think it was the 17th. That was pretty darn quick!!
