After we got the USA stuff (birth certificate & passport) we started on the Thai birth certificate first. It was pretty much just fill out the proper form(s), DOS certified copy of the Birth Certificate, copy of mother's tabien baan, ID card, passport, marriage certificate, copy of my passport, and a couple of 2x2 photos of my daughter. All pretty easy stuff to get. Sent it to the Thai consulate in LA. Got the Thai Birth Certificate back a couple of weeks later.
For the passport it was pretty much the same stuff, but since we didn't want to fly to LA from Washington state so they can capture biometric data for the E-passport, we waited till they had their mobile consular services visit. We filled out the proper forms, and gave them a copy of my daughter's Thai BC and they walked us through the rest. I can't remember the cost but I think it was around $50 for everything.
The Thai consulates and embassy will usually have a mobile service at least once a year to help people with passports and other services. The schedules are usually posted on the website of the consulate that services your region of the US.
Thank you for your comments. We are very excited for the baby and plan to have the birth here in the USA. I know it will be easy to get a USA birth certificate since he/she will be born here but how did you get the Thai passport?

Congratulations on the baby! Your baby will have rights to citizenship of Thailand and USA regardless of where it is born as long as you can prove that the mother is a Thai national, and that the Father is a US national. Very easy process in the US. We just went through the process a couple of years ago, and now our daughter holds both US, and Thai passports. Not sure how difficult it would be in Thailand. My guess is that it would not be that hard, just a matter of having all the proper paperwork (Passports, birth certificates etc).

Received USCIS mail today. Green card has been approved.
Approval date 3/28/13. Also received an email today that said our case was in initial review. Huh???

My wife flew back to Thailand from Seattle in July on EVA. Our daughter was 6 months old at the time. She didn't have any problems. We didn't purchase a seat for her. We did request a bassinet though. The bassinet allowed her to sleep and made the trip comfortable. Bring a small stroller, and have them store it for you so that it's ready for you when you exit the plane. My wife went with a freind, and said that it was not at all a bad experience. It isn't always necessary to spend the extra money. Good luck!

Thanks so much everyone - almost can't believe USCIS won't be bugging us anymore for two solid years
As for the questions - he mainly went over all the information from K-1 and AOS to verify our names, DOB, maiden name, father's & mother's name, etc.
After that, he asked
How, where, when did you meet? How long were you together? (both)
How did you keep in contact? (both)
How did you propose? (P)
Where do you live now? Do you live together? (both)
When and where did you get married? How many guests did you have? Who were your witnesses? (both)
Do you work? Where do you work? Are you in school? (B)
Where do you work? What was your last job? (P)
Then, he only asked for a few documents such as insurance papers etc. We gave him copies of our jt bank account statements, phone bills and many pictures (I made a crapbook for him to look at and copies of all pictures for him to keep in his file).
Over all, a very good experience, about 40 minutes in the building, 15 of which were the actual interview. Edit: He said I should receive the card within the next two to three weeks
Also, I asked about the 'instant' stamp but he said I could get one any time I liked in case of emergency but they're so fast these days that I shouldn't need one for now so I decided to wait. Again, good luck everyone else!!!
The wife and I were out of town for a few days visiting my brother in CO. Super congratulations on the green card approval. You guys should be getting it within a couple weeks. It's nice to know that you won't have to be worried about anything for the next 20 months or so. See you next time in the ROC forums.

Congrats to u too. We are happy we can relax for awhile now llol. It's definitely great to relax, but for nearly 2 years I've thought about this process daily. It's almost a little sad that we have to wait for so long before we can start on the next phase. I think I must have a mental disorder... haha!

The interview was good, but the officer interviewing us was very serious and straight to the point, They was no shaking hands or saying good morning, me personally thought he was rude... Yes he has a job to do but theys no harm in having of manners too.
Anyways when we got in to the room he swore us in, then proceeded to ask my husband most of the questions .. Is he an american citizen.. about how we met.. he asked me our phone number.. date of our wedding.. when is my birthday.. have i been arrested... deported ect.
The officer also wasnt clear at english so i struggled to understand him and was asking him to repeat him self.. I didnt think that was fare, they expect us to speak proper clear english, so i think they should too.
He asked me if id been depported twice, not sure if he was trying to catch me out or what.. he also was very interested in see our evidence for joint docs, like joint bank account etc, he wasnt at all interested in see pictures of us and our wedding.. i was alittle disapointed, thats was the fun part lol .. anyways he approved us and just told us what we have to do next for removing my conditional status and we left smiling
. We took plenty of evidence and was well prepared and organized.Awesome interview. Pretty much just like ours. The guy was very serious, no real exchange of pleasantries. And, he really didn't warm up until after he said we were approved. Thats when we were able laugh a little. Congratulations on the approval. It's nice to finally see some more July filers making some headway.

Why don't you want another child? (She's 5 months pregnant now) (Beneficiary)

Did you marry for a immigration purposes only? (Beneficiary)
Do you plan to move to Thailand someday? (US Citizen only)
Have you lived at any other location, or only with your husband? (Beneficiary)

Went out to Target to do some shopping this morning. When we got home we noticed something in our mailbox. Yes! It's Su's greencard.
Yay! Finally. We're done with this for nearly 2 years. Congratulations to those who have already been approved, and Su and I wish those who haven't completed this part of their journey tons of luck too. Hang in there everyone! -

oh one more thing - did they ask you separately or both together, at the same time, same booth?
We were all in the same office when the questioning began. Just try to act natural and be calm. Make sure to have your documents in order, and if your SO isn't comfortable with english it wouldn't be a bad idea to have a translator. Su is pretty good at english, but she stumbled on a few questions. I was sweating bullets when she had to keep asking him to repeat himself. But, in the end, it turned out well.
