Hello ,
I just received my NOA and fingerprint notice . However , they have made a typo on my last name . I checked my completed N400 application and confirmed that I had entered my last name properly .
I have a long last name KRISHNAMURTHY ... and instead of typing it as a single word .. they have entered it as KRISHN AMURTHY . Would this create any issues. How can I correct this assuming it is an error and not a typo.

I agree with what you are saying KroMix .. but then why would the processing times on the USCIS website indicate a different story ... it's just a mystery to me.

Have the N 400 processing times slowed down at most centers. A month ago most centers showed the processing times as " 5 Months " or " 6 Months" . Now when I look at them it says " October 2008" or similar dates for most centers. Is there any reason why this is so ... or is it just that USCIS is overwhelmed with N 400 applications ?

Now I am really scared . I have been waiting for so long to file and now this . When you say wait >5 years does that mean wait for 5 more years from the date of filing the address change ? That is a really scary thought and I am quite scared about it now and do not even know if I should send in my application righht now..

I just filed the Ar11 for both myself and my wife online and got confirmation numbers for both of us. Should it be ok now for me to send in our N 400 applications .

This may seem like a stupid question . We sold our house on 6/13/07 and moved into our new house on 3/18/07 . The 5 days in between 06/13 and 06/18 we stayed at a friends place. Do I also have to include the 5 days we lived in our friends place on the application or do i just enter the dates we were living in our own residence. If left like that there would be a discrepancy of 5 days ... does it matter ?

I am getting ready to file for Naturalization and I have a query about travel to Canada on a GC . In the past I have travelled to Canada 3 times for business reasons ( I was travelling to Canada on my GC) . However when I look at my passport , I see no immigration stamps by the DHS . They did scan my GC at OTTAWA everytime i returned . Also, there are no stamps by Canadian Immigration on my passport . Is this ok ( because of GC ) and if not who should I contact to get the correct information.

Thank you very much for the prompt reply . I have one more question though.
I was born 02/01/1974 and came to the USA in December 1998 on and H1B visa . I got my GC in May 2004 . I am reading about the selective service and have never received any mail regarding the same. It says on the SSS.gov website that " Lawful non-immigrants on visas" do not have to register. So was I an "lawful non-immigrant " while I was on the H1B . I got my GC in May 2004 by which time I was 30 years.

I have a question about the Naturalization process. I recevied my GC on May 20 2004 and have been out of the US once for 3 weeks and a three times for a week or less. I think I was eligible to apply Feb 20 2009 ( based on the 4yrs and 9 mths) . I also have to go India in April and so did not apply thinking I would miss the fingerprint notice. My questions are as below:
1. If I apply within the next two days , how long does it usually take to receive the FP notice.Would it be a good idea to apply asap ?
2. Can I apply and leave the country for 3 weeks
3. What is the estimated processing time these days ( I live in Herndon , VA and need to send my application to Vermont SC)
I would appreciate your help in clarifying my queries.

Had my interview on the 19th of August . I was a little nervous about the interview .... but the interview itself was a breeze. I qualified for citizenship based on the 5 yr rule after the GC . I got my GC based on employment . At the interview , the IO went through my application and then administered the test which was very easy. I had a couple of traffic tickets and had documented proof for the same . The IO did not ask for and since I volunteered he looked at the documents and added them to my file. Once the test was over he wanted to know if I had any questions and then just approved my application . I asked him if there was a chance I could take the oath the same day and he said that while that was not possible , he could give me one the next day and so that was that. My wife also got naturalized the same day .
All in all a relatively easy experience . My best wishes to all those who are still waiting .
