please update my status... letter received 8/30 interview 9/18/12 and oath (9/28/12) for those here in NYC after the interview if passed you can get alt letter for oath for 10-15 days later but WAIT time is 4-5 hours. Other option is to get letter in mail but they said 45 days minimum so it is worth the 5 hr wait.

Interview

6 questions asked most were the easy one like state that borded with mexico or canada and who is the Senator of your State, i think the main thing is that u need to understang english at lease a little and just be patient and it should be an east 15 minute.

Nothing about USCIS makes sense... ...I gave up trying to figure out timelines a long time ago. I figure once those that filed close to me get approved so will I...give or take weeks ...or months.

So I got a call from my lawyer today. They received approval letter n said I should get card in all within 7 days.. I'm could not believe it and called the lawyer again to make sure.lol

I was thinking the other day how slow VSC is compare to California then again we go base on how many california filer been approved from VSC on this forum and i was saying to myself there must be 100's maybe thounsands filers in march that apply to VSC. how can we so acurate right???? then again from FEB even JAN '11 just 1 got approved so far. Is there any way to check the amount of filer alltogether for MArch '11 maybe going to USCIS site??? bio's done for mr 5/2/11 7 1/2 weeks ago and still waiting.. hand in there people.

hey. i got my bio apt done on the west houston building. not that busy when i was there but the ward downstairs told me that they send 4 couples home that morning for early bios.. they were nice but lean...

Are any other NYers going to try an early walk-in? If the Manhattan office is so busy, I somehow don't like the chances of success ...

You know how in your social security it says that is only valid for work with DHS authorization...meaning you can only work with you EAD, well you can go and have them remove that as well

Yes you can, as well as get the "With DHS auth" notation removed from SSN card if you have SSN.

I understand this may be a silly question however, I do not need the sacarism. I have had the past 6 months of my life and my wife's life turned upside down! Things have happened to go wrong in the past and before I begin to celebrate, I want to cover all my bases and make sure that is exactly what this means before I have yet another disappointment. Forgive me if i'm skeptical but this is important to me so i don't need the nasty comments from whoever you are!

I don't think your question is silly, I have seen many people confused with the USCIS messages.

I think that "yes you are approved" and you will receive your GC soon.

As it says in your message if you don't get in 30 days call them.

I was told i needed a I601, where my wife had to write a letter of hardship on my behalf as I left the country on an advanced paroll a couple years back. i just checked my status on ine as we dropped off the letter last week, my status stated the following:

Application Type: I485, APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS

Current Status: Card production ordered.

On May 29, 2009, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you. If we need something from you we will contact you. If you move before you receive the card, call customer service. You can also receive automatic e-mail updates as we process your case. Just follow the link below to register.

Hi everyone! I am new to these posts and was hoping someone could help me.

my wife and i were married on january 14th, 2009 and submitted the AOS package on the 30th of january. Received NOA 1 for biometrics on Feb.6th for a feb 24th appointment. I just received yesterday first interview appointment for April 30th but have not received my EAD.

The problem lies:

I am worried because I am not able to open a joint bank account with my wife given I don't have my EAD. Due to this we won't have any canceled checks to show or anything of that sort.

I have a gas and electric bill in both of our names as well as a ton of pictures of our life together, trips, wedding, family, etc.... We also have a bunch cards, letters, and invitations with both our names on it.

I am not complaining that my interview time is close by but shouldn't it be obvious that since I don't have the proper documents because I haven't received my EAD that much of this stuff is difficult to do, such as opening a joint bank account and getting a drivers liscense?

do you guys think this will hurt me at all for the interview?
