YAY! got my interview letter for May 13th.

I am getting worried too! I submitted mine to Chicago and I am in California.

Checking the mail box every day!!

Where is your local USCIS office? I'm from California too and my local office is Sacramento.

Still no interview letter... arrgh, the wait is killing me!!

It was march 29th so this monday. weird that is took the whole week to get here.

My biometrics completed on March 9 and until now I haven't received the interview letter yet. I should have got it this week based on others timeline. :(

I know i was disappointed last week when everyone was getting theres and i didn't get mine. so if not tomorrow probably next week!

So basically, unless we have the EAD we can't get any ID with our married names.

But it looks like we're not going to GET the EAD before the interview.

So we have nothing with our married names. And this is our fault.

No need to worry about it. I myself didnt change my last name. All our joint bills are in our own names. Its my personal choice not to change my last name and also my husband's last name sounds odd. LOL

I did my walk in biometrics today. I was the only one in the office when I got there. They are all nice and didn't even questioned me why I would want to be fingerprinted today since its not my appt. date yet. )

How does that work...? You literally just wander into the place at 9am and be like, "Can I do this now instead?" And they just let you? If so, I'm definitely trying it out!

based on what i read on different forums, walk-in biometrics usually works. It could also depend on your local office.

You can try though. I would try my luck tomorrow and let them know that I can't make it on the date of my appointment.

snivvel did a walk-in biometrics thats why he got the interview scheduled that fast.

Anyway, I got my biometrics appt. letter today. Ill try my luck for walk-in biometrics tomorrow. I hope they will allow me to do it.

Something to do with Biometrics, the number on the form corresponds to what form(s) you need Biometrics for. Or something to that extent... It's normal anyway, that's all I know.

I have a few questions about I-864 (Affidavit of Support) in connection with submitting the I-485 (Adjustment of Status).

1st question:

We are a little confused with part 5 #21 of the I-864 form. It's asking us to fill in the household size and not to count anyone twice...there's only the 2 of us in the house...me (the sponsor) and my wife(the applicant)...there are boxes where you have to put the number of people for:

1.) persons being sponsored in this affidavit (in this case, my wife)

2.) persons NOT sponsored in the affidavit:

a. yourself (which would be me)

b. if you are currently married, enter "1" for your spouse (which would be my wife again)

so if i put "1" on all 3 boxes because they all apply to me, that would make us "3" in the household...but there are only "2"... is this ok or should i put "0" in one of the above boxes?

2nd question:

in the CHECKLIST of items to be submitted with I-864 for all sponsors, I've never received a Form 1099 and I don't know what a Schedule is...are these really required or are the Form 1040s and W2s enough? I also ordered a tax return transcript from IRS.

I put 1 on box which is you sponsored the intending immigrant then another 1 which is the sponsor (you) and I leave it blank if you are currently married (which the person whom you are sponsoring.) since the intending immigrant is ypur spouse you dont have to put 1 again on that box. So all in all the household size is only 2.

Did you just send it standard delivery? cause i sent mine first class and i can't find anywhere where it says how long it takes first class mail to get there.

Did u added a delivery confirmation or signature delivery?

I sent mine through express mail and I added a delivery return receipt.

By the way, I just checked my package just now and they delivered it already and package signed by L Box.

I just sent my I-130,485 and I-765 last Friday and when I checked my tracking # its already got there in Chicago and they attempt to deliver the package last Saturday but since the office is close USPS just left a notice regarding redelivery. Hope they get it tomorrow.

I had my interview yesterday in Sacramento. My interview appointment was 9:00am and I arrived around 8:45am. The IO called me on time. There were only few people waiting on the area. The interview probably took about 10mins and its was an easy and painless one. The IO is an old guy and he even asked me if I'm nervous and I told him I'm very nervous because I only read the study guide the night before my interview. He had a questionnaire ready on his table. I got 6 correct answers out of 8 questions. The way he asked me was kinda alternate easy and hard questions. Then he re-run my application and the yes or no questions and he asked me to write down a sentence. Then he gave me the paper about the oath taking ceremony and he told me that I will be receiving a letter regarding the date of the oath taking.

Do you know how long would it usually take to receive the letter?

I am applying my citizenship based on 5 year residency.

I traveled twice outside the US that lasted 4 months (first trip) and 5 months and 26 days (2nd trip)

Should I need to submit my tax transcript for 2005-2008?

I got here in the USA last January 5, 2005

then I traveled out of the country on May 2006- October 2006 ( 5 months )

then I traveled again out of the country on November 2006-April 2007 ( 5 months again).

In short, I had two trips out of the country that lasted 5 months each.

Now my 5 year residency will be on January 5, 2010.

1.Am I eligible to apply for citizenship now?

2.does my two trips out of the country affect my continuous residency?

My 5 years residency based parents petition will be on Jan. 9, 2010. Minus 90 days will be on October 9, 2010.

Can I submit my application on September 21, 2009 or should I wait the 90 days which is October 9,2010?

is there anybody here who submitted N400 earlier than 90 days?
