This is an important question. My fiance also got approved on the same day that scandal's fiance was approved.

She got the white slip and was told to return on Wednesday just the same as scandal's fiance. The problem is this, her slip says to return on July 3rd, Friday?!

So, at this point I have told my fiance to go and pick it up on the day they verbally told her, Wednesday.

Wondering what you think about this??? Is it normally two days? Why are they telling us two separate dates? What does scandal's white slip say?

About the white slip - Good question. I'm in the US, haven't seen the white slip. I haven't spoken to Thanti since this morning (US time), but expect to shortly. I'll ask her about the white slip. She also logs on here sometimes, so I'll ask her if she would update the board directly with her first hand account of the interview.

Ok, I just had our translator service we used send me a scan of the paper, and it says July 1st at 3pm. She must have misread it and saw the 3 o'clock time thinking that was a date. Thanks for the help, I am excited for you, have a wonderful fourth of july!

My white slip said " Please return to pick up your immigrant visa or your fiancee visa on JULY 1 at 3:00 pm.

Please have a seat in the waiting room and your name will be called."

Please tell your fiancee to write her FULL name in english before hand in it back to the officer.

May I ask your fiancee's name I will meet her and take care of her for you if you do not mind.

One interesting case for study: One of my friend had the interview last week and got approved she came to get the visa on June 29

but the staff said she can not get the visa today because her case has a problem she asked for the problem but he couldn't tell.

He told her to go back and wait for calling from the embassy.That day about 10ppl got the visa except HER !

While she try to think about what wrong for her case she saw the nice LADY who did the interview she went to her

and ask about her case why she can not get the visa today.The nice lady told her to have a seat she needs to check

(seems she didn't know what wrong with her case) My friend waited till 4:40 pm. the nice lady said we are sorry the mistake was because

the embassy please come back again tomorrow(June 30) My friend asked her to confirm that if she come back tomorrow she will get the visa ...SURE ?

she said sure. my friend asked for her white slip the date didn't changed she said will not have any problem with it .

When she came back today the guard said there is no appointment for picking up visa today then she told him the story and show the white slip

then he let her get in ................ at the end she got the visa today.

What do you think if she go back and wait for their contact How long does it take? some cases have been waited 1-2 months

We were notified of a July 10 interview date after returning packet 3 on May 29, 2009. No missing documents mentioned. Already have medical stuff to bring with us.

I will arrive BKK from Los Angeles at 1 am on July 10, meet up with Puy at our hotel and we will leave for the embassy early AM, like 6:00.

Does anyone know which BTS station is closest to the embassy (Wittayu Road)???? Thanks for the help.

The other 2 ladies who had the interview in the afternoon also got APPROVED !!! YEAHHHHHHHHHHH

One of them shared her experience there are 7 persons for K1 interview in the afternoon both of them got approved but the 5 left didn't !

I don't know them and they are not in a member list of thaisite so I don't know the reason why they can not get the visa from the kind lady.

OH MY GOD

The embassy just called Chada and asked her to come in tomorrow for the interview. Chada said she could not because she was not ready but she didn't want to miss the chance. The lady told her to come in this Thursday at 1:00pm window #5.

Can you believe this? We went from "we will contact you in the near future with a list for more documents" to scheduling an interview 2 business days later. Oh man we are not prepared for this. I'm not for sure how to pull off getting ready in 2 days...

What is going on????

Here is my suggestion;

Try to organize the evidence of reletionship as much as you can

Take that chance go to the embassy on the date

Unlucky she will be asked more doc. then you can submit later.

Packet 3 submission Q:

The older packet 3 instructions list several documents ( Birth certificate, Name change certificate), these documents, a copy can be submitted and the original brought to the interview. I got nervous when I saw that the embassy sometimes deviates from ther stated guidlines. Have other people submitted copied only of these types of documents in package 3 or sent the originals? Just wondering what other people have done.

I sent the copy of these document and I will brind the original on the interview date, except the police certificate which they requested the original.(I also have another original one for the interview )

About DS forms I sent the original and kept the copy for the interview.

I just read the new Packet 3 instructions on the embassy website. At the very top it says its OK to have the documents in Thai or English. Any other language needs to be translated. If that is the case why does everyone need to get translation and new seals?

Because the MAN is Amrican can not read Thai and his assistant is blind can't find any document in the envelope

Still preparing for packet 3 submission....

The agency we are using for translating documents says we need to get official government seal on their translations for : Certitifcate of unmarried status, birth certificate, and a name change certificate. and this costs 400THB for each document on top of their translation fee for each document (350THB), plus 600 THB to bring all the documents to the government office.

Was I mistaken to think if they should apply a seal or provide proof of being a certified translator would be enough?

Did everyone else do this? Sounds like a scam to me...

Yes, we had to do something like this as well. I don't know the details, Thanti handled it. We had all of our translations done by Sunbelt Asia, and they took care of getting the government seals done. I don't remember the cost, but 400B sounds probably right.

If Thanti (magic girl) replies, she can give you more accurate information.

I found the email from them hope it is can give you some info;

As for the translation, we can translate the document for you in just 1 day for a fee of 400baht a page. For this document to be officially recognized, it must be certified at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Thailand. We can immediately send the document there for certification. Our fee is 1000 baht, government fee is 800 baht per set. The certification at Ministry of Foreign Affairs will take 2 days but can be done in 1 day for an express fee.

Well ,on Thai website there are the pattern form for each document to help you to translate them by yourself and some suggestion just stamp date and sign your name but I prefer to do them official and looks professional because we need to use it whe adjust my status

This is just insane.

They only just updated the checklist and procedure now, May 2009.

The new procedure is to direct applicants to the website to use the NEW CHECKLIST.

The new checklist does NOT mention Thai ID card or Thai House Registration Book.

But both are now REQUIRED in Packet 3 response.

They are seriously TRYING to get people to fail in this process. There can be no doubt about it. I think Scott is right - there is an internal ####-covering operation going on there, and this is just the external manifestation of it that we are seeing.

This is a little off topic but if you guys havent noticed I have not been spending much time on here. I found the recent embassy issues combined with the overall duration of this adventure were getting to me. I need to keep my focus on positive things and since I like building stuff I choose to do several projects around the house while waiting for Chada to join me.

My project list is:

*_Running HD to each room from my Receiver / DVR

*_Landscaping the front of my house with flower selection from Chada

*_Building a Thai / American vegetable & spice garden.

*_Finishing up other home projects

*_Organizing the house for our life together

This plus work and friends are consuming 110% of my time. I wont be able to keep this up for more than a few months but that should tie in nicely to relaxing and taking multiple vacations after Chada gets here. This may sound crazy to you guys but its keeping me sane. Do you have anything to do before your girl gets here???

and at the end of the letter they wrote:
