Grats on those approved guys.

I noticed the same message 'Interview Scheduled USCIS has scheduled your interview appointment and will mail you the appointment notice.' on my USCIS main page but no change in the quick status check page. However, after clicking 'try it now' for the new USCIS account experience I saw the last update was 07/06/2016.

I don't see any updated PDF on the main account either. Received no emails, no phone texts, nothing. So either it's a poorly worded way referring to the biometrics appt (don't remember the previous wording) or something new is up. We will see. Hoping if it is an interview, it won't be within the next two weeks because we've already scheduled tickets to fly to WI for thanksgiving for a week!

Went for biometrics today. Was a pleasant experience other than the security check. Hubs had to remove his shoes, belt, watch, phone, keys and other electronics just like an airport check.

They seem to have an updated system for fingerprinting now. The last time I did biometrics for removal of conditions they used ink and stuff. Now it's all digitalized and you print your fingers on a screen after having them wet it prior. Took less than an hour to be done with, including the wait times.

Hey guys,

My citizenship application window opens up this March 2013. Hubby and I are buying our first house (yay!) and want to use that money for contingencies instead and file later. My question is: Is it like the removal of conditions where you have a 90 day window to file before the 3rd anniversary of your conditional green card date or can I file citizenship whenever I want after the 3 years?

I'm just worried not doing it immediately might cause problems because up to this date, we have been prompt about everything. Guess I'm just superstitious after 4 years of the immigration process.

On January 8, 2013, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you. If we need something from you we will contact you. If you move before you receive the card, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.

Finally! They responded 8 days after receiving my reply to the RFE.

These guys are charging $15 for a criminal records. Not sure if you have to apply in person.

Thanks for the tip. I didn't want to reply until I had something in the works. Last week I managed to get a police clearance document in both my married name and maiden name from the Sheriff's office of the county we live in now in FL and also spoke to the clerk of records in Morganton, NC after being redirected from their country Sheriff's office. Had to pay $25 bucks in a money order to the folks in NC to have them issue a certified criminal record check in both my names and I should be getting it in the mail soon, hopefully. The experience locally in getting police clearance was surprisingly hassle free, it took all of five minutes. All I had to do was bring identification and give them my names to check. I got my affidavit saying I am crime free notarized with Bank of America. Overall a good experience. Just waiting to hear back from NC and then the RFE is back to Vermont. Just glad I didn't have to go there in person to get my clearance.

We got an RFE today dated Nov, 29 requesting an my own affidavit regarding any criminal history and police clearances from all places resided since receiving conditional residence. My fingerprints were rejected as unclassifiable by the FBI and during my biometrics, they had extreme difficulty getting my prints. I even had to ink them down as backup for the machines.

So I'm not sure what to say in the affidavit. A quick search on the forums said it had to be notarized.

Does anyone have any experience in obtaining police clearance? We lived in two states since the conditional GC, NC and FL. I'm worried NC will demand an in person representation and we don't have money to spare for a flight ticket. I have absolutely nothing to worry about regarding criminal history but neither do I have any clue just how many hoops we have to jump through to get these clearances.

No, i didn't get my NOA1 and bio letter. and it's almost a month since we mailed the I-751

Contact the hotline and let them know its been 30 days. They will most likely tell you to make an infopass. At the infopass you should be able to track via an immigration officer where you are standing and the status of your NOA1 and biometrics.

Well I did my biometrics today. The service center did not know what to do about my missing NOA1 so luckily I had an infopass scheduled two hours later. Went there and met an immigration officer who put in a service request for them to mail another on to me (but he was unsure if this the request would be granted). Since my passport had expired, he made out an I-94 for me and stamped it with something that extends my residency for a year.

Anyone know if the Application Support Center where you do your biometrics has authority to stamp your passport during your biometrics or do you have to make an infopass to a local field office? I've made an infopass appointment on the same day as my biometrics, just incase.

Claudia, no I have not traveled outside the country since I got here, so I cannot foresee what will happen. But if I were you, I'd try and find out if this might be a problem trying to come back in. Maybe ask around on this forum or make an infopass appointment. If you must travel, maybe its best to also bring along all the NOA letters and welcome letters you got from the USCIS during the process of getting the green card as proof you went through their system. This is what I showed them just INCASE they thought I had a bogus green card since it didn't match their records, despite the fact that THEY gave it to me.

Having those letters will definitely show you did as you were supposed to do and any discrepancy in the system is on their end.

I think asking about it during bio appt is still the safest bet. At least you will talk so someone in person, and it will be an actual IO, not some clueless call center dude.

Well if it doesnt turn up in the mail, then I'm going to have to do that. :wacko:
