I started my journey around the same time as Monkeyjuice, I filed ROC in Sep 11 and got an email on 07/03/12 saying my card had been produced, this was followed by a letter on 07/06/12 saying the same thing. It's only taken VSC 10 months!!!! Hope everyone hears soon

Quick update! I has a job -- not the greatest (it's at Sears in the electronics department), only part-time, but they were very impressed with me, and I've got my foot in the door. I've been told that lots of promotion opportunities will come up if I keep my eyes open. It's something at least, and if I find something better, I can always change...I know Fred Meyer offers trainee managerial positions. In any case, I should be working "live" for Black Friday, and will be able to sell lots of stuff .

Emma, Bucks County, not too far from me. Looking like table games will be coming soon, Hubby's looking into going to school to become a dealer, start at $40,000.

Funny you mention this, there is an advert in the paper for a dealing academy!!! I have looked at nurse training, I did 7 years as a healthcare assistant which I think is the equivalent of a nurse aide here. Back home you didn't need a licence to do this but here you do, I'm looking at doing a course online so I can do medical admin and then maybe look at RN training later......

On another note I can't believe it's so close to xmas!!! Last year we had fun shopping and not worrying about buying presents as we both had jobs, this year I think I'll have to make them!!!!

Hello, back from my holiday in Abu Dhabi, it was great to see my mum!! The weather was fantastic, we had tickets for the Grand Prix which was awesome and we saw Kings of Leon and Aerosmith in concert....Fantastic!!!!!! Travelling on AP docs was no problem, went to secondary processing (at JFK this means back of the baggage hall) where they stamped both documents and gave me them back, all took about 15mins.

My Greencard arrived on the 21st Oct 2 days after we left!!!!!!! Can't believe it's here! We did the whole thing with no RFE's, I didn't do the Dr Arnold thing either which I worried about! I have to say Thank You for everyone's help here, it was nice to ask questions and be advised on stuff that didn't make sense

Gemmie, yes, it was the Wicked Witch of the East I think who died first (and the "Wicked" Witch of the West survives, sssh! She's not that wicked). My step-sister-in-law's hubby, who actually immigrated here (and is living in Oregon) when he was four, gave lots of advice; he said to bring lots of photos, and signed letters from family members to verify that the relationship is legitimate.

Woo, Ellie and David! Sounds like it's on the way, in any case. They usually ballpark how long it's going to take with most things, and pad the timeframe enough so that they don't say a week and have you waiting for two. Congratulations .

To npearce124, I personally got my AP and EAD quickly after biometrics and then was waiting a bit for any notifications on the AOS. I think it all depends on the application. I wouldn't worry about it -- they might just be a little slow.

I'm going to go get documents together for tomorrow, and put out another job application. Eeeeeeeee!

One email says 30 days and the other says 60 days? When I checked the status of it after the first email it said card production and now it says decision! I think they just do things back to front lol

It IS backwards! It should be card production and then decision / post decision activity...or be named something different because at the moment that heading signifies when something is mailed to you. It did that with my EAD card and 2 days later it arrived in the mail.

Sounds like your welcome information has been mailed......I remember Hannah posting something about the difference between the 30 and 60 days when she was approved.

Well at least it's approved, so I shouldn't moan but it's confusing!!!! I leave for Abu Dhabi to see my mum on Wed, I'll take my AP etc and hope they let me back in, though I'm sure as soon as they put my name in the system my life story will pop up

Thankums everyone . Thing is, the only thing we really have in both our names is our joint bank account...aside from that, I could bring things along that show that we share the same place of residence (plus LOTS of pictures, which I have). I've also got photos of being with his family, so I wonder if I might take some of those along, too (and a couple of myself, Knight, his brother, and his dad).

And Gemmie, have you seen Wicked? -- it was so much fun! Saw it in the UK just a month or so before I came over here. It's quite special for me and my close friend (who's like a sister to me), and she compiled a lovely CD for me before I left. A couple of the songs from the musical are on there .

I think what you have is fine, a joint bank account proves you have something in both names, anything that shows you are living at the address you gave and family pictures. I've read that they might look at the pics and ask who the people are in them to show you know the in laws etc but other than that I think they will just see a happy couple in love

Got an interview letter for the 20th October! Ahhhhhhhhh! What do I take? It says just to take the letter, my passport, and any supporting evidence in support of the application, like joint back account statements! Do I need anything else? It doesn't mention my birth certificate! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

What a great start to the weekend just got a e-mail that I am approved and green card is being printed, yay and double yay hope it arrives before I go to London on the 29th

Tuesday 29-Sept--got bad belly ache in evening,but had one day to finish packing and didn't really have time to be sick.

Wed 30-Sept--went to Emergency room in pain worse than childbirth. Screamed alot (not my norm). CT scan indicates diverticulitis. Morphine with 2 Vicodins is not helping. Admitted to hospital. Taking 2 IV antibiotics and narcotics.

Thurs 1-Oct --Transferred to Houston medical center by ambulance for a colon specialist/surgeon. Yay, no surgery needed. Oh and I moved that day because movers were booked solid past deadline to be out of old house.

Sat 3-Oct --After nothing but a sponge lolly thingy to wet my tongue and lips since Wednesday, I finally get water and glorious broth!

Sun 4-Oct --Wow. Soft diet approved. Feeling better.

Monday 5-Oct -- Our first wedding anniversary!! isn't how I imagined it, but I did get released from hospital to a new home filled with boxes...all my clothes still at old house. It was one of the worst days of my life, but hey...we'll try for better next year.

Tues/Wed/Thurs-- spending long hours at old house trying to finish emptying it. I'm still very ill and taking 2 Vicodin's every 4 hrs to try to cope. Nick is exhausted and psychotic at this point. But we know we love each other and will start acting like it soon. LOL. Old house is officially empty and garage is holding neatly stacked last load to pick up today. Friday is supposed to be the closing date of old house where I get the $$$$ and new people get the keys. If that doesn't happen, I guess I'll just have to kill someone in a narcotic induced rage.

Okay........... I waited for the AP and worried it wouldn't be approved, now I've got it I'm worried about using it ( I worry about everything) lol. Anyway we have booked our tickets to go see my mum who lives in Abu Dhabi, she bought us tickets way back in March for the first ever grand prix race held there (more for my hubby than me). I booked the ticket in my maiden name as I haven't changed my passport yet, do I just need to take my marriage certificate and 1 of the AP documents with me or do I need both? I read on it that they can still refuse you entry back into the US so I want to make sure I have everything. Does it matter what reason you are leaving the country for? Obviously watching Formula 1 isn't an emergency

I decided to go for a stroll down to the post box on this glorious Florida day (yay for the Autumn 80's and finally a cool breeze!!!) and was happy to see a notice that our case was transferred to Cali on the 23rd (The day we did our biometrics).

No email, no change on the website with regards to our status...just a letter that took 6 days to get here.

I think you're a little psychic emma. Anything else you'd like to predict? Florida state lottery numbers???

YEAH!!!! They seem to be sending the UK applications to the CSC? It says it speeds up processing but I'm not sure???? I'll quit with the predictions while I'm ahead!!!

Yeah, I think generally speaking, as the uk is a low fraud country they can probably justify shipping them off to CSC for approval. The ones not shipped are probably there for statistical purposes....to show they do assess a proportion of UK applicants at interview.

I wouldn't have minded an interview tbh, but David is a joker and a trouble maker and probably would have said straight off the back "oh yeah, my mailorder bride only came here for some sunshine, she wouldn't have married me if I lived in Vermont" THAT would have gone down well

Well after posting yesterday saying I hadn't heard anything for a while I got 2 emails this morning saying my EAD and AP are Approved and Ordered!!!!!! Fingers crossed they won't take the 30 days it says!!

Laura - My case was sent to CSC which I think slowed things down if anything!!! If you look at my timeline the 18th Sep was the last time anything happened then all of a sudden it's approved. I'm guessing you will get something in the next couple of weeks at the most going by the other latest approvals.

Ellie - I think you will hear something pretty soon too
