  1. i do understand everybody has to have a medical record, but if there is no record available can they take the vaccines all over again ? at the time of the medical for instance ( he didn't have his medical yet )... i think i just answered my question

also, do the vaccinations include the series of 3 Hepatitis B shots that have to be taken now, 3 months after, 6 months after...

  2. OOps, pushed something wrong there :bonk: Stress

THE ANSWER IS YES TO ALL : BANK ACCOUNT, 403b, TROWE PRICE INVESTMENT, CURRENT AZ DRIVER'S LICENCE, VOTING REG. ( didn't vote last time, but did the previous ). I'm more than 125% above poverty level to sponsor on my own.

IT'S THE HOUSING ISSUE THAT MAKES ME NERVOUS...I FEEL LIKE I SHOULD HAVE AN EMPTY HOUSE WAITING FOR ME SOMEWHERE IN US.

...AT WHAT POINT IN THE PROCESS THEY ASK FOR PROOF OF DOMICILE ?

  3. Did you keep bank accounts? your driver's license? voter's registration? Have you continued to pay taxes?

Your friend's affidavit, drafted officially as some sort of lease would also be helpful.

As far as the affidavit of support; make sure you will be over the property lines for your state; and if not, get a co-sponsor (perhaps the same friend).

    best of luck.

  4. I, the USC plan to DCF in Qatar. Been in Qatar for over a year working as a nurse, will return as soon as ( God help us ) my spouse gets approved. I do not own property in US and I do not have family in US. Of course I don't rent, I don't live there right now. My good friend owns a big house. She always said I can go and stay with her anytime. ( I actualy plan to stay with her a couple of weeks, until I rent something ). My question is :

should I have her write a statement saying that we have disscussed and she agreed to lodge us until we get settled ? how would I phrase that ?

" I, 'Best Friend', certify that upon their arrival to US, my friend XX and her husband YY

are welcome to live on my property, at this 'Address' .

We have disscussed and agreed to sign a rental agreement at that time, and agreed

on the amount and method of payment.

    Sincerely

    B. Friend "

I'm just freaked out of this " proof of domicile " thing.

At what point in this whole process they ask for proof of domilcile anyway ?

    I appreciate any input. Thanx

  5. Hello everyone... Thanks for all the great information on this forum... wish i would have discovered it before visiting my @#$% lawyer... dont want to make a long story short, so here goes:

My wife is an American citizen and has been living in Canada for many years. We met here (i.e. Canada), got married and are now both living here while I finish my MBA. We want to move to the US, and so I have already filled my paperwork and even had my interview with a consulate agent, but they sent me home citing that I did not provide evidence that my wife is domiciled or has taken concrete steps to prove she will be domiciled in the US on or before the date I intend to enter.

I have made a list of the documents that intend to submit to the consulate to prove her intentions. I plan to send the following:

    1. Offer of employment as of May 1, 2009, as well as her acceptance of this offer
    2. Her 2007 tax returns (although there is not much income; but my father in law is a co-sponsor... his tax returns have already been submitted)
    3. A letter from the bank (or a bank statement) showing that she has an account in the US with some money
    4. A letter from her parents stating that we will be living with them for the time being and that there is ample room for us

Is this sufficient evidence to support our claim that she is setting up domicile in the US?

Any suggestions/advice is more than welcome!

    Thank you in advance!!

    Hi there,

That looks pretty darn good. If you want to include 1 more thing that is free to obtain, why not include a moving estimate? Just go to http://www.upack.com/ - fill in your details and they will email you one, which you can then print off - and they won't even send you any junk mail

  7. Thanx all for your input, pls bear with me .

I understand I have to file taxes even though my income is foreign. I work for a foreign company. But these are my issues :

    1. There are no tax consultants here, can't get any tax help

    2. Question : how do i go about spouse not having income in 2008 ? Attach a statement or what ?

    3. I don't care aboud refund, it's easier for me to file married separately. Am I going to have problems come interview time ???

  8. I'M HAVING TAX NIGHTMARES !!!

I work in Qatar. I am planning to DCF in about 3 weeks

If I file married filing separately how bad will that look at the interview ? I am planning to DCF in about 3 weeks

I I file married filing jointly and the spouse did not have any income what do I have to attach to show that the foreign spouse didn't have any income ?

It's almost April and I can't figure out what to do. It doesn't help that in the past H&R block did my taxes. Now I'm in a foreign country, with no help, and tax stupid

  10. I'm putting together the package to DCF for my husband at the embassy in Doha. On I130 you put your address where you live in Tunis with your hubby, and on line # 18 the address where you may live when you return to US ( your parents address i.e. ). I was told so by the CO at the US embassy here in Doha.

I opened a bank account with Wells Fargo online. I think all major US banks offer the option to open an account online. Good luck :star:

  11. I've been working in Qatar for the past 18 months. I plan to DCF and I am able to sponsor my husband by myself. My income is above 125% poverty limit. I have an Arizona driver's licence, voter's registration, US bank account, and I requested tax transcripts and W2s from 2007, 2006, 2005. Problem is i have my permanent address at my friends house in Az. She recently decided she wants to take a traveling job, so now she's renting the house. We both changed our mailing address at another friend's house in Texas. I've noticed that form DS-230 is asking

( Question nr. 10 ) the beneficiary where he intends to live /permanent address when he arrives in US, and for the phone nr. I'm not sure if i can use her address DCF anymore . what do you guys think ?

  12. Hi all, i'm new here. I am getting ready to start the immigration process for my Lebanese husband. It looks excrutiating. My question is about I-130.

Question 14 is asking if I am a permanent resident alien. I am not, I am USC. However this is the story. I was born and raised in Europe. I got married to an USC, and I became USC through naturalization in 1997. My marriage to the USC lasted 17 years and died of natural causes ( the marriage not the husband :))).

Questin 14b " Did you gain permanent resident status through marriage to a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident ?" So should my answer be yes or no ? I'm confused.
