Hello Guys

My CR 1 visa has been approved yesterday. I am so happy. No difficulties for me. Also no files were asked to be shown. Just a simple interview in writing cuz I am DEAF! The Mumbai Consulate were very nice to me. Hats off to them

I went to local SSN office yesterday, and they told me that NVC has not assigned the SSN number yet. but unfortunately, i forget to take her passport with us. So I'll go back on Friday and finish the SSN process.. you better visit to the SSN office..

Thing went smoothly except one problem..we have to wait a long time.

here is how everythign went...

My wife was at embassy at 5.50 AM with one person in front of her. They all went inside the consulate at 7.00 am. Now inside , tehy haev different section for immigrant visa and no immigrant visa.

She was called initially and wasa returned all the document they took in VFS office a week back, and told to wait. NOw this wait was huge , she wasn't called till around 3.00 in the after noon.

She was asked some question

She looked at papers and asked

1) what is your marriage date?

2) when did your husband came from usa for marriage? how many days before marriage?

3) does he came to india for your interview?

4) where is he live right now?

Waht she told me is, there were one lady ( for CR1 visa as well) they questioned here for 1 hour than told her to wait and again called her for more questioned for another hour..and eventhan they didn't give her the visa. i guess this kind of stuff delayed her number tobe called upon soon.

When she was called , interview was over in 10 min

they asked following question

1) where does your husband work?

2) how does he go to wrok?

3) what kind of car he drives?

4) did you see him last time?

5) do you have photos from his last visit?

6) do you have marriage photos?

Ans than the magic words...afte waiting for about 8 hour inside embassy..

my wife went to the district pcc office in baroda. they wont give a pcc with a photo now. will it be accepted without a photo? they wrote a letter to ahemadabad office to see if they should give a pcc with a photo or not. we dont have much time now should we accept the pcc without a photo and go to ahemedabad?

I believe it should be fine as long as her full name is printed onthe document.. and other than tht there will be a regional pCC with the picture so i guess it should not matter.

how much did u pay for your wify's ticket, is she really coming on 8-28-09?? if she is then u r lucky man....may wify is coming on after three week.

AIr india's 18 hrs lights really heps man.......... the ony doubt u have is that i dont think that air india providing boeing from ahmedabad to frankfurt. do u know about this?

Yep, she is coming on 28th Aug, in Air India from AMD to Frankfurt to Newark. but I got that because I booked ticket last month. If you are still looking for ticket, and a cheap one than let me know I can give you the contact information of the Agent I normally buy a ticket from and you may get the good deal.

Yesterday I received my AOS invoice & paid, now once NVC accept my DS-3032 e-mail - i can pay fee for IV packet.

one more question about Marriage Certificate - Do NVC accept Certified Copy of marriage certificate?

I rescheduled my interview for Aug 25th. After 40 min conversation with the Council, she finally gave me a little American flag pin with "Congratulations", stamped "Approved" on my DS-230 and that was all. :dance::dancing:

"Your visa will be delivered in 2-3 business days, have a safe flight to USA and also, congratulations on your pregnancy" :dance::dancing:

Ahh, I haven't slept well the last few days. Going to rest, and promise to leave an interview review later.

Thanks to all of you my VJ buddies for all your help and prayers. Yesterday my wife successfully completed her interview and got approved. She also received the passport and Visa on the same day in the evening.

Experience at the Mumbai US Embassy was excellent for her. People there were very friendly. She went in around 7:30am and came out around 12:00pm. Interview lasted around 10 minutes.

Below are the questions she was asked:

1. Who sponsored your husband?

2. WHere does your husband work?

3. Where does your husband leave and who else leave with him?

4. What vehicle does your husband drive to work?

5. How is the nature of yur mother in law?

6. Can I see the album?

Congratulations! You got the visa , please pick it up at the VFS office in the evening .

Once again thanks to you all for this fast and successful process completion.

But in India its different, you can pick up the passport and visa on the same day. thats what I did 6 yrs back.

My husband also got his visa yesterday from New Delhi. Interview went smooth...was only about 10 minutes!

Does Ahmadabad Passport Office provide the forms needed to obtain the Police clearance? Is there a place online where you can get the forms for it?

YEP THEY DO PROVIDE WITH THE FORMS, WHEN YOU GO THERE WITH YOUR LOCAL PCC AND DS-3032 LETTER, THEY WILL GIVE TO A FORM TO OBTAIN THE REGIONAL PACC. YOU FILL THAT OUT RIGHT THERE AND PAY THE FEES TO GET THE PCC.

I have something to share with you all. I am hearing impaired and my husband is also hearing impaired. I am wondering how will the interview go. Will I have to accompany someone to the consulate to hear my number being announced because I may not be able to hear that. Then I will manage myself alone during the interview. Anyone has similar experience please guide me...

don't worry about that, you know how good care is taken for hearing impaired here in US and same will happen there at US embassy as well. And all will go smooth as others..

I am not aware of anything like that.. but did your wife worked in India... if Not than you dont have to worry about that...

My cousin's wife just came... he never told me anything about that... dont take tension and dont worry...

my wife most probably coming between september 10 through september 15. she want to stay there untill october 2, i guess that is not possible after all these hassel we are doing to make process fast!!!

do know wheather we need income tax clearance certificate of not??? i have heard that when you abroad at Ahmedabad air port u need have income clearance certificate. (this is the certificate that confirms that a person going abroad do not owe any taxes to indian goverment). i am not sure its needed or not so i am confused let me know if u have any information. this certificate has nothing to do with interview so dont worry.

My wife was telling me that as of last week they will no longer issue local PCCs, you can only get PCC from ahmedabad due to a lot of fraud and scandals going on with the local PCC stuff. She said there was something in the newspaper in regards to this but she will scan it and send it to me hopefully tomorrow.

Well did she tried starting the process.. did she goto Police Bhavan in baroda... if not i'd say give it a try... dont go over newspaper..
