  1. Hey all! Our interview is coming up in 2 weeks and I am gathering all my evidence to take with us. I have a question about photos - what are they trying to see with your photographic evidence? Is it just to prove that you have been photographed together throughout your relationship? My husband and I have been married for 4 years and the funny thing is we don't have a ton of photos of the 2 of us. And the ones we do have aren't date stamped, if they are looking for chronological details.

Anyway, if anyone has any thoughts on this I'd appreciate it.

    Thanks!

  2. Oh my GOSH! After I submitted my reply above, I checked my EAD and AP status online and it says that approval notices were sent on June 16!! Would this be my actual EAD? Like, once I receive that approval notice, am I authorized to work or is there an actual card I need to wait for (I see people writing about "card production ordered"). I have a job lined up that I'd really like to start!

    What a relief!

  3. Just checked today and apparently USCIS "received" my response to their Request For Initial Evidence (2008 Tax Return) on June 11...several days after they actually received it in the mail. Guess that's an indication of how long it takes for correspondence to make it to where it needs to be! Well, hopefully that's the last RFE we get - I need my EAD ASAP! I have been offered a job and lucky for me they are willing to wait until I receive it  Unfortunately the RFE letter indicated that my EAD will be processed 90 days from the date they receive my evidence (i.e. June 11)...but I am praying that they can process it much quicker than that!

  4. Congrats on the EAD, Septembergold!!

I received an RFE the other day  They're asking for a copy of our 2008 tax return (I hadn't included it in the original package - d'oh!!). We had filed for an extension with the IRS, so now we'll have to actually get them done! lol, oh well.

Question: will they still be processing my EAD after they sent the RFE? Just wondering if the RFE holds up the entire process, or just the I-485 that the RFE says it's for.

    Thanks!

  5. My husband and I have recently moved to a new state, and are just renting for a few months until we purchase a house here (waiting for our old house to sell) and I am hoping to send my AOS package in the next few days. I understand that changing addresses is not recommended during the AOS process (that it can complicate things). I consulted with an attorney who said that I should use a family member's address on the forms so there won't be any missed correspondence. So, my question is this: is it okay to put the address of a local family member on all of my forms instead of my current rental address? I don't want to be accused of fraud since I am not really living there and many of the forms ask where you live, not just for a mailing address.

Any advice or links to helpful info would be appreciated :)

    Thanks!

  6. I am attempting to assemble my AOS package (so many forms...I am going crazy!), and I have a question about I-693 (medical form): In the guides, we are told to make 2 complete copies of our application package, but my completed I-693 is in a sealed envelope. Do I just make 2 copies of every other form and request a new I-693 from my doctor if I need it?

Also, on form I-765 (employment authorization), it asks the date of last entry into US. I was on a TN Work Visa, which I obtained in March of 2008, but we visited Canada in October (TN Visas are multiple-entry with little or no questions asked when you do re-enter). So...is my last entry my work visa date, or the date I re-entered after my trip? My passport has never been stamped with my re-entries, so the last date in there would be March 2008.

Any thoughts would be much appreciated! As you can all probably appreciate, this is a very stressful process and I want to be sure everything is right before I send the package in.

    Thanks!! :)

  7. Hey everyone!

I am putting together my AOS package (Canadian citizen/TN Visa married to US citizen), to include I-131. I don't have a specific travel date in mind, but I would like to be able to visit my family in Canada at some point in this process without having to wait for the Green Card. Should I make up some travel dates in order to complete the I-131? Luckily my family is within driving distance of where I live, so it's not like I have to purchase plane tickets or anything and I could easily make a quick trip with whatever dates I put in there. Any advice?

    Thanks for your help :)

  8. So I can put mu husband's parents address in Michigan even if I don't live there? Then how do I do because on most on the forms they ask the address but I have no place to indicate Michigan is not where I live.. I am affraid they get mistaken and send me in Michigan for the interview...

If I put the Michigan address everywhere how are they gonna know that I really live in Texas?

Has one of you done that already?

I am in the exact situation - what did you end up doing? Did you use your husband's parents' address on your application? If so, did you use that address on EVERY form? I had an attorney tell me to use the address of a local family member for consistency, but I don't want to basically be lying about where I am living on my documents.

    Thanks!
