  1. 7 AM - Waited in line outside the embassy.

7.45 am - Allowed inside as I had an 8am interview time.

7:50 am - my file was checked by a security girl at the entrance.

8 am-8.45am - waited inside till an Indian lady at the counter called me.

8:45-9am- Indian lady asked ques and checked all my docs and took my wedding pics, Church marriage certificate, copy of tht, wedding card, husband’s employment letter, 2 passport photos, passport, medical report, then W2 forms( I was not having it).

Asked questions like - have you traveled outside india? Is this first marriage?

Took my right and left hand four fingers print on the machine and then both the thumbs together.

Then gave me pink slip with a number and asked me to wait till am called for my interview.

10am - Called by the American guy for my interview. Took a look at my docs then asked

To take an oath. When you got married? how you met ur hubby? When did u last meet him.. Explained my whole story. Then asked about my profession. Which domain? Which client?

Answered then he typed something in the monitor. Then gave me a chocolate and said tht my visa is issued and I will receive it in a week.

Received my passport in two days.. 

Flying to US this weeknd… 

As a whole it was very good.. and most of us got it approved. luckily very smooth.

All the best for everyone. Dont worry, If u have submitted all docs then nothing to worry.

  2. Hi Martin09,

Is your case CR-1 or IR-1?

Yes, you do need PCC from the passport office. It's also called Regional/Passport PCC.

When NVC processes your DS-230, they will create RFE requesting the Passport PCC. Just call NVC plus email them and tell them that you will submit it at the interview. There shouldn't be any problem.

    Good luck

Even I agree with inzango. Be prepared with Passport PCC for the interview. It is very much required.

  3. Hi all,

I send my Choice of Agent (the paper one) on 30-Sep-2009 to NVC. I also send one by e-mail on 17-Oct-2009 (just to be sure).

After 5 weeks NVC still claims that it is not entered in the system yet.

They can not tell us that they recieved my paper mail or not.

1- How can I retract that they recieved my letter (or not) but due to load of paperworks, it is not in the system?

2- Why the e-mail one is not entered in the system yet?( I got an automatic response, saying that my e-mail is recieved by NVC)

3- Should I send the paper one again? what about the e-mail?

I appreiate any answer and suggestion.

    Mehrdad1969

If you got an AVR saying that the email was recieved by NVC, it means that they have entered it in the system, right?

  4. IIRC , the DS-3032 has a signature requirement, and, IMO, it needs to be original.

    Good Luck !

You just need to send an email. Email and paper 3032 pretty much takes the same time to be processed and considering the time that you would lose by getting the signed paper here, email works out to be the faster option. And you can also send a paper copy once you recieve it, but I would recommend that your husband send out that email ASAP.

    Good luck,

    Binu

  5. Anyone has their interview scheduled on December 2009 at chennai embassy.. ?

    Hello Ansubinu,

What is your interview letter say. What are the documents need to take during the interview.

I think you need to go to VFS office before 10 days of the interview date.

What about the medical exam look like there is a new Appllo heart center lab for medicam exam...

could you please explain in deatail...

    Hi SRama,

my appointment letter says the below:

"Please read and follow all Interview Preparation Instructions located on the Department

of State's web site at: www.ImmigrantVisas.state.gov, under the "Interview

    Preparation" link."

You will get all the information from the interview preparation link..

They also asked to bring Any original documents that were requested by the NVC but were not submitted

    to the NVC.

Hope this will be helpful for you.

  6. Hello guys! I called NVC tonight and the operator told me that NVC is giving me a schedule for December because there are no more slots for November at the US Embassy Manila. The operator also told me that NVC do the scheduling every 2nd week of the month... I need to wait until 2nd week of November to have the interview date and that is also what the operator told me... they will send the appointment letter also by 2nd week of November. I am really wishing that i can be with my husband on Christmas.

I just called the NVC after seeing that you got an interview date. They gave me the same answer that the dates are assigned in second week of the month. how did you get the date today?

  7. Allow another month and only then begin wondering. Three months of processing is normal.

The normal proecssing time for the 130 application is 6 months and going to the field office before that would not make any difference. Once you cross the 6 months timeline, you can call the USCIS and submit an 'out of normal processing time' request. Again, no need to go to the field office.

You will need the field office only if some delays occur to your application after getting approval or if nothing happens even after putting in the request over the phone.

So, take it easy and wait.

    Good luck,

    Binu

  8. I would not worry about the birth information. I do admit I have called NVC to get my case number, and I have called them more then once. I always got different customer reps and they always ask you the same questions to identify your case. I don't think they note anything. Nothing to worry about and the most important thing is your case is already at the NVC now and in due time it will reach the consulate.

When you call the NVC, you are calling a CALL CENTER of the NVC. All they do is read out the information from a terminal. They are mere operators and dont have the right to make changes to your application. Your application is processed based on the paperwork you submitted and what you say to the operator doesnt matter.

    So, dont worry about it.

  9. ohhh no... my case was stuck at NVC for 41 days.... sounds like the NVC has such a backlog that they dont have room to store them all.... It maybe because the service centers have ramped up production.. my approval took about 140 days vs. the 60 days it seems to be taking now...Im sorry to hear that for you guys....

Yes. This did happen to me! My case was approved on April 12th and did not reach the NVC. Finally on May 30th (after multiple enquieries at the USCIS field office) I was told that my case was at the National Records Centre. Unfortunately, what this means is that instead of sending the file to the NVC, they either misplaced the application or sent the application to the archives along with the rest of your file.

Of course, I did not know about this and kept waiting because the field office MISINFORMED me that this was normal and that my case will be forwarded SOON!!!! Finally, after another month of multiple enquieries, the USCIS field office and the congressmans office made the National Records Centre physically check my file for the application and surprise surprise, it was missing (June 30th).

So I had to submit a photocopy of my entire application package for them to reconstruct the case. My case was approved a second time on Sep 9th.

So I woukld urge you to contact your congressmans office and ask them to call the Service Centre and make them physically go through your file. THIS IS THE ONLY WAY YOU WILL FIND OUT ABOUT YOUR CASE...BELIEVE ME. Make them PHYSICALLY look in to your file.

Any time your file doesnt reach the NVC within 3-4 weeks of approval, something was messed up at the USCIS.

    Good luck!

  10. I was able to speak to an operator and confirmed that they didn't received the file yet...was advised need to allow 2-4weeks but it will be a month this Oct24....

We also have a problem with NVC not receiving our petition from uscis. I had called uscis, nvc, department of state, and the embassy in manila all (minus uscis) which state that they haven't received nor have any record of the case number eacXXXXXXXXXXX. It's now going on the sixth week since my noa 2 was approved. I've spoken to an lvl 2 IO officer like one week after my noa2 in which he confirmed it was already mailed to nvc. However, just a few days ago I spoke to another level 2 IO at uscis which stated that it was already sent and that they will escalate the issue. The IO officer has given me a ticket number, advised to check back in one week and will submit an inquiry to the nvc about the case. In the mean time I have also contacted my congressman through his website and just received an email from his aid stating that she contacted the nvc. The nvc told the congressman’s aid that it can take up to a month since they have received a large number of applications and will follow up at the end of the month.

Please...please...dont trust what the USCIS folks tell you. They kept me waiting with the same answer for about three months. each time they gave a different excuse (things are busy at the NVC these days, we emailed the docs to NVC etc.) NVC is pretty good in entering the cases they recieved in the system. So 99% of the time, USCIS has delayed sending the docs.

Do contact the congressman and ask them to call the USCIS service centre. The ONLY way to know the status of your case is to make them physically look through your file (nothing is electronic at the USCIS) and see if they have misplaced the application.

In my case, my office was pretty close to the USCIS field office and I would go there every week for 3 months. Finally they had the mercy to call the Vermont Service Centre and made them look for the files. Of course, they had lost the application and I was asked to submit a copy of my 130 package so that they could reconstruct the case. If I had known this earlier, I wouldnt have wasted 3 months waiting by listening to their lies!

So, dont waste time and ask your congressman to contact the USCIS Service Centre!!!

    Good luck!

Badly waiting for the interview date to come.. :(

I see we're in the same boat. My case was also completed with NVC on 10/15. The operator told me I just missed the scheduling and it was too late for November. Hopefully, we'll have some good news soon.

    Good Luck to us both
