  1. Actually, some say that your application is already pre-judged before your fiancee is interviewed that is why its so quick. I think before the interview itself, they already check the papers for completeness, accuracy and whether you are eligible or not. Those who take time might have some problems with the papers that's why they get the blue slip, but for those that are good, they don't really need to scrutinize you on the spot (interview day). It's just like formalities sake and for you to complete the additional req'ts needed such as medical exam, police clearance, etc.

In my own experience, when the embassy worker checked my papers ( not the interviewer itself), I saw a small note indicating "approved." When I got to the interviewer, I was actually so nervous, I got incoherent(haha). But the interviewer didn't mind, she barely listened to my answers and checked my paperworks(for completeness) in a breeze. Goodluck! ;) ;)

  2. hi! I just want to ask what should we prepare for when me & my hubby have our initial interview with USCIS ( for adjustment of status)? Papers, questions... any advice would help...

i'm also confused on the joint account statements, etc. because we didn't change the bank acct., billing statements, etc. yet since I'm still using my maiden name (SSN card has my maiden name printed and I couldn't change it yet not until I have my EAD which I'm still waiting for.. I can't apply for any IDs under my new (husband's) name because of this.)We wanted to wait until I can use my new name.

this isn't related but what does "touched" mean in the timeline?:)

and do you have to copy then paste your timeline everytime you post or is there a way to have it automatically posted?

  3. hi! thank you for all your help... i need it again..

    1. is the I-194 stapled on the passport really cut? i mean to say, it only now has the departure record form part and the upper part was taken by the immigration officer at the airport..

    2. on the I-485, part 1.. around the part where it asks about the a#, i-94, etc.. which expiry is it asking? expiration of my k1 visa or my I-194 form?

    3. which notarized or certified true copies should i submit? does the birth certificate & passport copy need to be notarized or original documents?

    4. do i also need to submit a copy of my husband's passport?

    and a SSN question..

    5. i read in a lot of posts that it was better to apply for a SSN after my marriage so that i wouldn't have to change name.. however, when i did apply, the lady there told me that i would be using my old last name (my unmarried name) and not my husband's name.. when can use my husband's name on my SSN..?

    thank you!!!

  6. hi! i'm just wondering about some things since i just got recently approved..

    1. how long does it usually take for the visa to be mailed? i live in davao and I got approved just last April 29...

    2. do I need to buy a roundtrip ticket or is one-way (going to the states) okay?

    3. can you apply for a SSN already and work when you get in the states or do you have to get married first before everything else?

    4. what is CFO seminar? i have no idea about that.. kailangan ba yan sa K1 visa or sa immigrant visas lng?

thank you for all your help and prayers! :)
