  1. I received a case status information email today regarding my I-485. Here is what the email says:

"the post office returned the notice we last sent you on this case I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS as undeliverable. This may have serious effects on processing this case. Please call 1-800-375-5283 to update your mailing address for this notice to be re-sent."

I have changed my address previously with USCIS by mailing the AR-11 form and calling the USCIS, right after that I received a letter in the mail to my NEW address to confirm that I have changed my address. Also I have gotton a couple of correspondences from USCIS to my new address regarding this case.

I think USCIS somehow used my old address. Anyways I called them today and they said you should hear from us again within 45 days!

After waiting for almost three years and a half I wonder what could that notice be?

I had the same problem as you. I changed my address in Jan 2007. Verified with USCIS and even received several letters to my new address. Last Dec I received a letter for fingerprinting at my old address. I went in to talk to them and they said they didn't know why but they do have my current address on file. It really doesn't make sense.

  2. Hey guys, I had my infopass appointment this morning. I wish I had something positive to report. The FBI name check is still pending :( The lady told me shes seen worse. Not to reassuring. Anyhow our case is now in Missouri. As fas as the messed up address goes. They said someone was being careless.

Hopefully you have better luck AOS Despair.

I didn't realize that I truly had some hope. Its justs so crushing to leave that place. I just wanted to call in sick to work today. I really can't complain..I have a great wife, baby girl, jobs and friends. What more could anyone ask for. I just feel held hostage by the USCIS. I think its time to start researching the WOM.

  3. Man Its good the read this thread. At least I am not the only one. It's been well over 1200 days for us. I was denied my dream job also due to not being a permanent resident. It just sucks. I'm Canadian born, my wife American. I think we're on our 4th EAD now. Not really a big deal. I just get a little nervous around renewal time sine I am the breadwinner of our family. We just had a baby girl and my wife is now a full time mommy!!

  4. Well I went down to the local Phoenix office today to find out why I was sent a fingerprint notice to my old address. I think I basically just wasted my time. The immigration officer told me my address in the system is my current address. I asked why there was a letter sent to the old address..he first said that Missouri sent out the letter and I need to call the 1800 number. i told him the 1800 number would not disclose my address over the phone. He then asked if I filed an AR11 to which I said yes. I told him the letter was addressed by the local office. He said there is nothing he could do.

I explained that if I hadn't thankfully received this letter my application would have been denied. His response was to just file to reopen the case if that was to happen. What a putz.

Why can't they just do their job. If I make a mistake, I am punished. If they make a mistake, I am punished. Where is the accountability.

  5. Our interview was past the date at our local office. They didn't take our i94 or Ead.

AOS Despair...my wife used to work for Continental. those were great videos!!! As far as Larry muscling his way in...he was actually brought in by Gordon as well as Jeff. The 3 of them together under Gordon's leadership helped turn the company around. Gordon just passed the baton down to Larry. They are a great airline!

  6. AOS Despair....If you want to speed things up, you can go get your fingerprints done early. You can only go on Wednesday's. I went in 2 weeks early. The security guard at first told me to wait until my appointment. Wednesdays are for people who miss their appointments. I told him the the 1800 number told me it was ok to go in early. He told me "they don't know what they're talking about!" Anyhow in the end he let me go through. I went in at 2:45 pm and the ASC was empty.

I'll keep you all posted. I am trying to schedule an INFOPASS appt with no luck. I need to see if the USCIS knows where I live :)

BTW AOS Despair...why do you have a pic of Gordon bethune?

  7. Hey all,

I just received a letter from my local office to get fingerprints done for my 485. I hope this is a good thing. Heres an interesting paragraph from the letter:

    Dear Applicant,

To continue processing your application, INS must send your fingerprints to the Federal Bureau of Investigation for a criminal history check. ........

Hmm, I already did two time in the past. Also I thought the "INS" didn't exist, isn't it now the USCIS?

Heres the real kicker though. I did an official address change on January 4, 2007. Received a letter from USCIS acknowledging the change. This new fingerprint letter dated November, 23, 2007 was sent to my previous address???? They however reversed 2 of the numerical digits in the old address. Thankfully the post office delivered to the previous address(my in-laws).

    I called the 1-800 number...their response,"odd."

They said to do another address change and an Infopass appointment.

I went online to make an appointment, and guess what? No appointments available.

I called USCIS back. They told me just go there on a Wednesday morning between 8-12 and tell the security guard you can't get an appointment.

    Next week, I'll try.

I'll go in for my fingerprint tomorrow. I'll keep you posted.

Aos pending 41 month so far!

  8. Hi all,

I received the approval notice for I-130. Just wanted to add an update. Apparently, it was sent out the day after the interview and my husband completely forgot to mention it to me (we're currently living in different addresses because of my job commitments). Hopefully, everyone's name-check gets cleared ASAP.

Congrats on the I130. One step closer.

  9. Hey Patrick...I got you beat by 12 days!!!! I guess I need something to be excited about. I have tried senators, congressman and ombudsman. They all seem useless. I really wish there was something we could all do. Keep us posted on how it goes with your editor. Good luck to you in your crazy journey. The name check just seems like such a waste of time.

  10. I am so frustrated, depressed ,sad again and again-waiting for FBI name check to be completed since December,2005.....and still nothing:(((They supposed to complete check from 2 weeks to 2 months(that's what they saying in their site),but what about people who is waiting 2 years and more??What should they do?Nobody can help, just to sit and wait??How long?Is there anybody who waited this check done more then 2-3 -4((((years?

I totally understand. I lost a dream job cause I don't have a green card. EAD won't do it. Its been 38 months now and still waiting. I've really have just tried to move on with my life and not let it get to me. At least they are still approving my EADs. I wish I could be more helpful. Tired of talking to the senators, getting excited and nothing happens. I even try to stay away from these forums. It just plain sucks.
