  1. I just got back from vacation a few days ago and my new 10 year card was in the mail. It didn't arrive before I left and I had my letter with me for the one year extension but the USCIS officer didn't even look at it when I gave it to him, just took the old green card for swiping. I guess the information is all in the system, presumably.

Not exactly sure when it came since we were away for a while but the letter was dated 12/12/11.

Good luck to all of those who are still waiting! hopefully it won't be long!

    Hi everyone

After months and months of waiting with no news, I finally got a letter today (without any email alerts on my case, which I had set up) that my removal of conditions petition has been approved. The letter is dated 12/05. I'm travelling next week out of the country and really hope that I'll get my new card before then to make things easier!

good luck to everyone who is still waiting! looks like VSC is finally getting things moving.

  3. Hi Everyone!

We had our interview today in New York, and thanks to all the great advice and support of the board here we were approved!

the interviewer was very strict during the interview and it was a little bit scary but afterwards she was extremely friendly. It took about 20 - 25 minutes total. We brought about 20 pictures through our whole relationship but she only kept 3, and she was in particular looking to see our wedding pictures. After she told us we were approved she asked us to wait outside while she evaluated our paperwork and stamped my passport. She told me to expect the GC in about 2 weeks.

good luck to everyone else who is still waiting!

  4. you could try to call USCIS to have them expedite your AP. you just need to have your receipt number for the AP and have a reason that falls under one of their categories. if you have a family emergency or medical reason i think that is accepted.

Some of you are very lucky.

And some of us are very concerned... we have no info, no touch, no transfer, nothing.

Our AP case number doesn't even show up on the USCIS web site. The AOS and EAD case numbers don't show activity since April 13.

We just got a while back a letter telling us to go for the interview on June 30th.

We need the AP to travel in July, and of course the EAD ASAP for work.

How do you guys get all this info, like "card production" and "approval dates" if the web site shows nothing?

By the way, the USCIS shows our K-1 application as still being processed, so I think we have been shut out from web site updates since the very beginning.

And for all of you who are still waiting like us, does the foreign fiance/spouse had any 'bad' history with the immigration office? Angela sure does (short overstay of a tourist visa a few years back) and I am wondering if they put our files on the "wait and make them sweat" pile ;)

Anything we can do to speed up things?

  5. Hello fellow vj march filers!

To AmitRai: I didnt mean to overstep on your topic. I wish I could answer your inquiry but i dont have any knowledge on it. Maybe other fellow vj members could give helpful insights to your query.

This morning at 8am May 12th, I checked my inbox , I got 2 messages from CRIS. It was about my I-485 and I-765.

On I-485 mail, it says my card has been ordered for my Appkication for adjustment of status. On my I-765 mail, it says approval notice has been sent for this application. Great news for me!!!:dance: But hey, on May 9th the last time I checked my inbox and USCIS site, my current status for I-765 was CARD PRODUCTION ORDERED. And now , May 12th, my status for I-765 is APPROVAL NOTICE SENT?

I said to myself something is not right. Then at 9:30 am , I checked again my status on my I-485 application. On USCIS site, my status has been changed to WELCOME NOTICE IS SENT from CARD PRODUCTION ORDERED. I am now confused! In just a matter of an hour, my status has been changing! I hope they wont changed my applications to APPLICATION IS DENIED :blink:

Btw, I don't worry about my AP because yesterday I got a letter from immigrations. It was the approval notice

Anyone who has experienced this same confusing-status-changing of your applications from USCIS.GOV? just want to appease myself that this is just a common occurence and not something to worry about. I know it is good news but just the same :innocent:

    thanks

I saw that my online status was card production ordered for about a week, and then I got an email and update on the website that said Approval Notice was sent. I received the card about 3 days after the Approval Notice was sent. I'm guessing the Approval notice is the paper that's sent with the card.

  6. Just received initial interview letter, scheduled on 06/11/09 ^_^

Can't check anything on line yet!!!

Why it said initial? is it normal??

Congrats to those who got their green cards already!!! WOW...that's qucik!!! :jest:

Congrats! this is really good news as you have a similar filing timeline to me!!! I hope I'll be getting my interview letter soon too. May I ask which is your local office?

  7. congrats to all the March filers getting news. This is truly a great board and resource.

I requested my AP to be expedited on Monday, and my status just got updated on the USCIS website today. MY AP has been approved and EAD card production ordered today!

USCIS is really working fast to get our stuff out! Keep it coming! I hope everyone will get news soon.

congrats to all EAD cards approval/production. i wish i'll have mine soon too.

may i know how did u expedite your AP?

You need a valid reason to expedite your AP. I did not requested for an AP expedite, but it's already approved and sent to me last April 27. In my application, i specifically indicated that i will be travelling back to philippines by June 15. I indicated the particular reason why i have to return.

oh, ok. I really dont have any reason for now. I just observed that most AP that were expedited had their EAD approval as well. What I really need is the EAD cos I so badly want to work again.

all you have to do is call. they do ask you for a reason (mine was family medical - actually same reason that i listed on my original AP application "proof").

  8. MY HUSBAND'S EAD CARD WAS SENT AND RECEIVED TODAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! JESUS IS GREAT! GOOD LUCK TO OTHERS :dance::thumbs::thumbs:

Hi Aezeala, when you requested your AP to be expedited, did you also request your EAD to be expedited? It seems as though people who had their AP expedited also got their EADs sooner (both you and Brad Charel). I really want to get my EAD ASAP so I'm wondering if requesting my AP to be expedited will help. :-) Did you have to pay a fee or anything? What is the process to request expedition?

    Thanks!

  9. Update:

received my Biometrics Appointment Letter today for April 24...yahoo!!!

I was nervous when I opened it bcoz I thought it's an RFE bcoz we only submitted 2008 tax return which is married filing jointly..we didnt submitted 3 years for tax coz I thought 2008 tax return will be enough.I hope USCIS will satisfy with the 2008 tax return we submitted.

I too received my biometrics letter today and I have a similar timeline of submission. My appt is for April 23. They must mail these letters in bulk. :-)

  10. Hi

This is my first time posting here. I'm so glad I found this forum - it's been extremely helpful in filling out the paperwork for the AOS package.

I'm a TN (Canadian) filing for AOS through marriage in the US and I am hoping the forum can help me with a couple of questions on the I-485 and I-130.

on the I-485 it asks for your Non-immigrant visa number and consulate where visa was issued. I'm not sure which one is the visa number, if there is one; I know TN Canadian is a bit of a weird status because it doesn't require an actual visa and in my search here it seems as if some people have left it blank and some have filled it in. On my I-94 card in the oval USCIS stamp is printed TN with a 5 digit number. Is that the visa number? Also, what would I put for the consulate where visa was issued - should I fill in the border location where I obtained my visa or leave it blank?

on the I-130, question #22, what would I put as the city and state of the USCIS office? Would it be Chicago because we are mailing the application there or the closest USCIS office to where we live?

Thanks in advance for your help!
