When I go back visiting my family, I recognize myself that I FEEL different much less my spouce recognize it. The culture is different and you feel it, guess it's hard for someone who isn't multicultural and hasn't brought in different cultures to understand it. It's amazing how different cultures bring different qualities you, just like languages. I feel a totally different person when when speaking with my family, in a different language.

HEY EVERYBODY,I WAS WAITING THIS DAY THAT I WILL WRITE DOWN HERE ABOUT MY INTERVIEW AND HOW IT WENT:
WELL, AS I LIVE IN IRBID, WHICH IS ABOUT 60MILES AWAY FROM AMMAN I HAD TO GO AND SPEND THE NITE IN AMMAN AT SOME RELATIVES HOUSE, WITH MY MOM OF COURSE!
SO I WOKE UP AT 530AM AT THE MORN OF THE GOLDEN DAY! LOL
I ARRIVED THERE AT THE EMBASSY AT 655AM, SMOKED A BUCNH OF CIQS WHILE I AM TALKING TOLISA ON THE PHONE AND I WAS THE FIRSET TO GET IN BCUZ I WAS THE FIRSET IN THE LINE, ON THE OTHER LINE THERE WAS 3 GUYS, THEY ALL IN THE NON-IMMIGRANT LINE WAITING AND ME ALONE IN THE IMMIGRANT LINE! I WAS LIL PISSED CUZ I HAD TO WEAR A SUIT ,, AND I HATE SUITS AND THE GUYS WERE SO CASUAL! AT 715 THERE WAS ABOUT 4 POEPLE BEHINDE ME AND ABOUT 20 POEPLE IN THE OTHER LINE, THERE WAS SOME COUPLE BEHINDE ME AND THE REST JUST ARAB GIRLS LOOKS THERE ARE ALL MARRIED TO ARAB AMERICAN GUYS... ANYWAY
SO GOT IN AND THE SECUIRTY GIRL LOOKED AT MY SUITCASE AND ASKED ME TO GET MY PASSPORT AND THE LETTER FROM EMBASSY,, AND THEY GAVE A PAPER WITH A NUMBER AND I WAS NUMBER 2?!??! I THOT: BUT I AM THE FIRSET?!
SO I WENT TO THE OTHER DOOR AND THEY TOOK MY CELLPHONE AND CHECKED MY SUITCASE AGAIN!
WHEN I GOT INTO THE LOBBY INSIDE THE EMBASSY THERE WAS SOME GUY WAITING THERE, I THINK HE IS THE ONE WHO GOT B4 ME, AND AS I UNDERSTOOD LATER FROM HIM HE HAD SOME CONNECTIONS IN THE SECUIRTY AND THEY GOT HIM IN AS SOON AS HE ARRIVED TO THE EMBASSY!
SO EVERBODY OF THE IMMI LINE WHO WERE OUT GOT IN, AND AT 810AM THEY ASKED THE FIRSET GUY TO TAKE HIS PAPER INTO SOME WINDOW IN FRONT OF THE ARAMEX OFFICE TO SHOW THE OFFICIAL PAPERS "DS FORMS, MARRAIGE CONTRACT ETC ETC" AND I DID TOO AFTER HIM!
THEN AFTER THAT THEY TOOK US TO THE LAST ROOM IN THE LOBBY TO WAIT FOR THE CO TO START THE INTERVIEWS!
SO WE WIATED AND THE SECUIRTY GUY CAME AND PREPARED THE INTERVIEW BOOTH,, A SMALL BOOTH WITH 2 CHAIRS!
DURING THAT TIME THE IMMI PEOPLE WERE HAVING CHIT CHATS,, I WAS TALKING TO THE GUY WHO WAS B4 ME AND HE ASKED ME WHERE MY WIFE LIVES I SAID: KY! HE SAID: MY WIFE ALSO IN KY !! I SAID: YAH COOL! RIGHT AWAY AFTER THAT THE COUPLE WHO WERE BEHINDEME CAME IN AND THEY TALKED TO THAT GUY AND ASKED HIM WHERE IS HIS WIFE IN THE USA, HE SAID: NJ!! LOL,.... SO AFTER 15 MINS I KNEW THAT THIS GUY IS THE KIND OF AHOLES! AND HE DONT KNOW WHAT HE HE IS DOING, BECUZ HE ASKED WHAT IFI GOT DENIED AND I SAID: MY WORK IS OK HERE, AND MY WIFE CAN COME AND LIVE WITH ME HERE! THATS WAS WHEN ME AND HIM WERE ONLY INTHE WAITING ROOM, AND WHEN THE COUPLE ASKED HIM : HAVE U EVER BEEN IN THE USA! HE SAID: YA,,, I CAME BACK BECUZ MY WORK IS OK HERE AND MY WIFE CAN LIVE WITH ME HERE BUT SHE DONT WANT TO! LOL! SO THE CO CALLED HIS NAME THROW THE SPEAKERS AND WHILE HE IS IN I TOLD THE COUPLES THE STORY AND I ALSO SAID: THAT GUY IS LIAR! ! AFTER 10 MINS HE CAME OUT AND ALL SAD, HE SAID THAT THE CO ASKED HIM TO STAY BECUZ HE WANTS HIM FOR ANOTHER INTERVIEW AFTER THE WHOLE PEOPLE WAITING THERE DONE!!! ?!?!
NEVERMIND,MY NAME WAS ON SPEAKERS,, I HAD THE MOMENT OF FEELING THAT MY HEART IS DOWN ON FLOOR , I SAID A LIL PRAYER AND GOT IN, I DIDNT KNEW HAT I HAVE TO SPEAK LOUD BECUZ THE GLASS, SO HE CO STARTED: GOOD MORN MR HOSNI! AND I REPLIED: GOOD MORN, HOW ARE U? HE DIDNT ANSWER THAT, THEN THE QUESTIONS STARTED:

I DONT KNOW WE MAINLY TALKED ABOUT METALLICA,ANDMY WIFE TOLD MEABOUT L7 ONCE TO TWICE, AND I TOLD HIM THAT MY WIFE SENT ME A TICKET FORMETALLICA CONCERT SHE WENT TO IN 1994 WHILE SHE WAS LIVING CALIFORNIA, AND WHILE I WAS TELLING ABOUT THE TICKET HE SAID: SO MUSIC IS SOMETHING IN COMMON BETWEEN U AND UR WIFE! AND I EKPT TALKING ABOUT THE TICKET! LOL.. HE SMILED FOR MY EXPLAINTAION ABOUT THE TICKET OF METALLICA!

I GAVE HIM A LOOK: ITS JOSH! AND HE IS 5 AND HE WILL BE 6 NXT OCT.

DAD AND MOM ARE ENGLISH TEACHERS AND I LEARNT ACCENT FROM WIFE!

I COULDNT GET THE ALBUM FROM THE SMALL SPACE UNDER THE GLASS, SO I STARTED TO SHOW HIM THE PICS FROM BEHINDE THE GLASS AND THEN TOLD ME TO FIND A PIC THAT HAVE EVERONE, AND I SAID: THE GUEST HOUSE WAS SMALL, SO I HAVE PICS OF PEOPLE AS GROUBS, AND I SHOW HIM 2PICS: MOM AND AUNT AND 8783 KIDS, AND THEN ANOTHER 2 AUNTS AND 878040 KIDS! LOL

NUTTING UP! HE LOOKED AT ME: SHE IS AWAKE NOW WAITING ME TO GO OUT AND GIVE HER A CALL ABOUT THE INTERVIEW, AND SHE TOOK MONDAY OFF BECUZ SHE IS WAITING ME NOW, AND I HUNG UP ON THE PHONE WAS I WAS OUT!
HE TYPED ON THE PC FOR 3-4 MINS AND THEN: CONGARTS U HAVE BEEN APPROVED AND GO TO THE ARAMEX LADY IN THE LOBBY, AND GIVE HE RTHIS PAPER, U WILL GET UR VISA IN 2 WEEKS! I WAS: SERIOUSLY? LOL I WA STARING AT THE CEILING WHEN HE SAID THAT SO I MISSED THE FIRSET WORD! LOL
I WENT OUT AND I WAS: I NEED TO CALL LISA!!!!!! AND SMOKE A CIQ NOW!

No that was really my opnion, and still is. You can't BREAK the law and expect nobody would notice. OK, I dont care how many people WOULD that, that doesn't make it OK. And this is MY ADVISE for people in future. JUST DONT BREAK THE LAW IN THE FIRST PLACE!!! LOL . . .
and you please dont ask others to be quiet just because their openion differs from yours, or you dont like to hear them

A few weeks ago, my fiancee had her interview in Montreal and was denied because at her medical interview, she admitted to using marijuana before. She is not allowed to immigrate now for three years and is required to go to rehab and receive monthly drug tests over those three years to show she is rehabilitated. As much as it doesn't matter now, I want to be perfectly clear upfront...She has never purchased it in her life and her use of it was infrequent at best. How there is no appeal process or gray area here is astounding. Even the immigration officer who denied her said so and admitted that the law, in this case, was "archaic". But I understand that the law is the law, no matter how much I disagree with it, and sometimes being honest about how we have lived our lives bites us back.
I think your fiance should have lied, You have to REALIZE that these people are not like mom or dad or sisters or best friend that are understanding to you and would appreciate your honesty, they are jerks (not all them but most are). That's what you get for being upfront with jerks, straigh up. I'm not saying you should lie where there is risk of you getting catch but for someting like that, smoking pot once in a blue moon, she shouldn't have said anything and there would have been no way for them to find out.
Not helpful advise and does not develop this discussion in any way. Your personal opinion of consulate/immigration officials does not justify lying during any point in the process, nor does the presumed chance of being caught.

From my exeprence YES visa officers are paranoid and if you think you can approach them with a case like that and expect compassion you're being very unrealistic. don't get me wrong please I by no means am encouraging people to lie or trying to make anyone feel bad. We don't live in a perfect world, it's not against my personal ethetics to lie about something like "smoking pot once a year" knowing it embraces a wrong interpretation, and they wouldn't know, it doesn't show in your blood if you're not a habitual user, so the chances are zero. I have strong morals and personally don't belive in lyin but I'm clever too. I'm not going to get the kick in the teeth!

LOL my spouse has top secret clearance too and we're waiting six months for approval.
I'm complely multi-lingual( i know 5 languages) it hasn't really affected my case the slightest, all it matters is your spouse to be able to communicate. Good luck though!
