Might have to watch out. I have read some posts that some foreign spouses will claim being abused by the USC spouses in order to get waiver. Hope this will not be the case.

Hi,
I am just answering your questions in general. It is stated that PR holders can not leave the states for more than 6 months. You might be able to get advance parole to leave the country for more than 6 months. If not, it can certainly cause you some trouble if you only leave for a little less than 6 months and come back and forth. So you will need to have a good explanation for doing that. Also, when you apply for citizenship, you are required to state all of the travels you have done out of the country and they can deny your application if they are not satisfy with the reasons you provided for leaving the country so often and for so long. Therefore it is better if you gather all of the necessary information before you make any move...

It's unlikely that you can go through the lines for USC since K1 visa holders have not been granted for permanent residency yet. You should just stick to the visitor's lines and present your K1 package to the agent when you get to the booth and then just follow their instructions. They will ask you to go to a room in order to process your entry. It took my wife (was then fiancee) almost 2 hours to get everything done (the biometric machines were down on that day, hope you will have better luck during the process).

I believe you need to submit a copy of your original birth cert. to the address indicated on the RFE notice by mail. It does not affect your biometric appointment.

USCIS does not work on weekends, but USPS does. The NOA2 dates reported should be the dates that they received NOA2 by mail, not the dates that NOA2 were issued.
-
The security doesn't really check the appointment time on the notice. So I believe it is okay to arrive early to avoid the crowds.

They are being send out as first-class mails.

The type of the letter is called differently between banks. I know Citibank calls it a consular letter, but some other banks call it an immigration letter. Maybe you can call your bank and request for an immigration letter. I am sure they should recognize it once you mention it. Good luck.

My fiancee (now my wife) applied for SSN the second week after she arrived with no problem. The clerk started processing her application right away when he saw her K-1 status. So K-1 visa holder is definitely eligible to apply for SSN. You may also print this out to show it to the clerk when you go back to SSA office again http://ssa-custhelp.ssa.gov/cgi-bin/ssa.cf...amp;p_topview=1.
Good luck with your application

I believe you can get letter that prove that you are single and eligible to get married from the U.S. consulate in China (at least that's how it can be obtained in Taiwan). You may want to check the consulate's official website for details. As far as the traditional Chinese wedding is concerned, there are no set of universal rules for the entire China. The tradition varies from providence to providence. So it's best to check with your fiancee for details. You should start plan and talk to her about the wedding now. It's better to prepare more things than you really need rather than missing things on the day of the wedding. Some Chinese elders are quite picky about the mistakes occurred during the wedding.

The estimated time changes because it is based on the dates that people reported after they received their NOA2. Then this website uses the reported dates to estimate the dates for people who haven't receive NOA2.

I don't think you can check your case status at AIT. It will always be in "processing". AIT processes cases rather quickly. My fiancee waited less than two week from the time she returned pocket 3 till she received pocket 4. I saw on your timeline that pocket 3 was mailed on July 19, so I think it's likely that your fiancee will be getting pocket 4 next week. Hope your fiancee will get her pocket soon!

Richmond is like a typical U.S. city. There are shopping malls, museums and parks that you can go during the day and clubs and pubs during the night. As far as the area is concerned, you get a not-so-friendly parts in downtown and a relatively middle to high end income of people living on the west side. I lived in Richmond for almost 10 years and I didn't have any problem with it. Good luck with your arrival! I am sure you will find Richmond a rather enjoyable city With a little exploration.

Remember that he has to make 125% above the poverty line, not just above the poverty line. That's at least a $4000/year difference.

You should be able to get detailed phone bills whether you are using a well-known phone company or a local phone company. Some phone companies will provide you the detailed phone bills (whether you subscribed for online or paper statements) for free and some will charge you a small fee every month for the detailed billing. I used an online phone card (I prepay for it online) and can make calls from any pre-entered phone or use a pin and I can obtain a statement of all the calls I made with the phone card every month. Perhaps you should try it too if it's not too late (www.idphonecard.com). Hope this helps and best lucks to you.

I moved to the states from Taiwan about 15 years about and my fiancee is a Taiwanese as well. I might be able to give you some ideas if you can provide more details about the entire situation and if she was here to visit or she was here due to the approval of the I129F petition.

You needed to surrender your green card once you became a US citizen. You can check passport stamps to see the date that you entered the US.
