# 16 what eligibility should I put, Im married to a US citizen, overstayed on tourist visa and living here in USA

Hello and I would like to thank you guys for answering so many questions for me. I need to know if the sponsor has to have a certain status in the US, I was told the sponsor has to be a permanent residen or citizen that it cannot be a provisory resident.

Is this true? what should the their status be? my husband does not qualify and my dad could do it but he is not a permanent resident yet.

yeah he was catched and released they were not deportations because they were right after he crossed the border, it might sound funny but he almost died trying to come here.

Well is actually my sister she is a US citizen her boyfriend was catched and realeased 6 times ( I know stubborn huh) ok so he finally made to the us 5 years ago now they want to get marry and legalize him. Now is it better to do all the process here or I dont know someone mention this to her but we think its risky but give me your honest opinion. Should he just go to mexico and pretend they met in MX she goes a lot to tijuana a lot so they can say they met there or something so thats something that someone told l her would be easier. He has never had a problem with the police or anything the only thing is he once got a traffic ticket and told the court that he would do community service but he never did it because he was very sick at that time and he got his car towed;however the car was not under his name. other than that he is clear. What would you guys suggest is the best way to do this. and what is the approx. waiting time on CDJ if they want to do the process like they should.

Can I send my AOS package with the copy they gave at the chapel? my sister sent that out and It worked fine.

another question my sponsor is a US citizen but he was not born here, do I have to send a copy of the Naturalization paper or the passport will do just fine. Also do I have to send copies of his ID and SS?

Don't waste your money into these professional service. Just have somebody fluent in spanish (I assume) and English translate the document and make sure he/she signs it saying they're fluent in both.

Hello Im living here in Los angeles and Im about to send the package. I married a us citizen a month ago. Now does the birth certificate need to be transalted from a professional like in a Notary office or can someone else do it because I've heard some people doing that!
