  1. Thank you so much for those who replied and give us the strength to go on.

WOW!!!! at last we made it...

Yes, we did make an appointment to the uscis field office and we were interviewed unexpectedly, luckily we brought all of the requirements needed for the interview, my wife make photocopies and we brought the original copies with us too including our wedding album. We put everything in order.

Well our main purpose of going to the filed office is to follow up the case since my wife prepared everything and we are just hoping if in case they need some documents, we can show it to them right away and if in case they need wedding pictures, we brought it with us too. But unexpectedly, we were interviewed right away and

WOW!!!! thats it... We are so happy...very very happy!!! Our marriage is real and we can testify to it. Now we received a text from them that the card was ordered and we have to wait for 30 days!!!

Patience and persistence is the answer and of course your encouragement!!!

Thank you so much to all of you who replied.

  2. Hi,

I was just wandering.... Our case was transferred on January the 15th (a month after it was received by the Chicago Office) to the California Service Center. It is almost 6 months now and when we check on the USCIS site, it says it is being initially reviewed.

When a case is transferred to the CSC it is supposed to be approved faster.

Any comments? We're freaking out a little bit here..... ;0)

Hi!!! We have the same case too. When my wife apply her AOS through marriage our documents was transferred to California Service Center, it took us 8 months for waiting. Yes, they will always said it is initially reviewed but then we really follow-up this matter to them, twice we've been in the field office just to follow-up. Luckily, we were interviewd unexpectedly without appointment letter of interview, me and my wife brought always our stuff (requirements needed for interview) whenever we follow-up our documents. So the second time weve been there, we were interviewed. Well we are always ready and prepared and our marriage is real so nothing to worry about. Now we will have just to wait for the greencard. They sent us notification that we will have to wait and they ordered the card. Just be persistent and have a lot of patience in follow-up your documents.

Now that it is almost six months, try to have an appointment through your uscis field office, make an info pass. Always follow-up your case. If they would still give you the same answer then visit the field office again at least once a month. And if you go to the uscis, always bring all documents needed with you including the original copies. if in case they need it, you can show it to them.

  3. hi, i had the same situation before as your wife does, almost the same month when we filed for my AOS last november 2009, i kept calling the california service center three days in a row after my 6 months of waiting, then guess what, after 12 days i received a welcome notice and in june 10 i received my greencard. mine was also transferred to california without interview and rfe, it wont hurt to keep calling, the answered i always got from them is my application is out of processing, and told me to wait. but still i kept calling eventhough ive got the same answered, lucky enough im done waiting.

Hi, Thank you for the reply that helps a lot when you know someone out here listens. Thank you. I will keep calling them. Just like you, probably I will be seeing them at least once a month in the field office. I just wish we will hear from them on how and why the processing takes so long. It will be 8 months from now and still on pending.

  4. My AOS took horribly long, too (just got my GC at exactly one year after filing), but I found that asking our Senator's office to assist us with the case helped a lot.

I kept calling USCIS and making Infopass appointments, and no one would tell me what was wrong with my case; once we got the Senator's office to inquire for us, we got somewhat of an explanation of the situation, and they started processing the case again less than one week after the inquiry was made.

WOW!!! really. I should have to do the same thing too. Did the uscis give you the reasons on why your AOS took so long to process? or did they require you of supporting evidences or interviews?

  5. Im sorry to hear that. I heard that some AOS processing will really take time, they transferred mine in Laguna Niguel too and it only take 4 months.

Just pray it will come soon... :)

Good for you...and I am happy for you too.

But for us who is in this waiting list is not a happy experience at all. It is so frustating. Everyone wish to have a faster processing but that doesn't happen to everybody. Well you are right just pray till miracle comes. And hopefully they will have to glance our papers. Thank you for the reply...You know it helps when someone listen to your agony. It is like there is somebody out here who listens...

    God Bless and take care,

    Richey

  6. Hi Richey,

I am nothing more than a sympathetic ear. My husband and I have a very similar timeline... we applied for his AOS on 4-November and our case was transferred to California on 24-December. We called the 800 number, and they said that there are no defined processing times for AOS based upon family status. With that said, our application is probably just waiting with yours.

I hope we both get our approvals soon.

    Take care,

    Ramona

    Ramona,

Thanks for the reply. I thought we are the only one who is drifting in this kind of case. I couldnt figure it out how sometimes they even release GC even without an interview. One of my wife's friend, who came here in California just like my wife, a K1 fiancee visa holder but then to think she filed late and she just got her greencard last month without having an interview. So frustrating!!!

I understand that it is not only us that they need to process but then at least they let us know what has been going on...or where are we in the processing??? or they process it or not. Neither they send us any letters of whatever documents or supporting evidences they need.

Well I would be probably seeing them (uscis) every once a month if I still got same answer again.

    Take care too,

    Richey

  7. Have your local Senator/Congressman make an inquiry. I've seen most CA couples get interviews but you should have received something by now.

Yes. Sad to say, they even got their green card even without having an interview. One of my wifes' friend who just filed I-485 AOS this March, Got her biometric scan on April and waited only for a month and then she got her Greencard June 2010.

Well in our case we never received an appointment letter for interview neither any letter that required supporting documents or evidences. Well, we make another schedule for the uscis field office to follow up on what has been going on. This will be the second time that we will be in the uscis field office again. And if we got the same answer probably we will see them every once a month. We are not that in a hurry but then at least we want to know what has been going on.

    Sooooo frustrating!!!!

  8. My wife came in United States as K-1 Fiancee Visa, last July 2009. We got married within 90 days, September 2009. We filed I-485 AOS together with her EAD, November 2009. She received a receipt and appointment for Biomeric Scan, December 1, 2009. She got her biometric Scan, December 24,2009. Then on February 1, 2010, She received her EAD card. Then we never receive anything from USIS. Now its July, 2010 case is still pending. We've keep calling 1-800 uscis number but then they couldn't even give us definite answer on why I-485 is still pending. We've been to the USCIS field office but then still we got same answer. What are we going to do now? How long should we wait? We are so confused.

Anyhow our I-485 AOS was transferred to California processing in Laguna Niguel and we lived here in California.

    Any advise? please help?

Should we have to wait for a year? It will be 8 months from now since we filed the I-485 AOS.

  9. My husband and I are faced with a similar situation. We applied on 4-November-2009 and were transferred to California on 23-December-2009. We called the 800 number and they told us that there are no established processing times for AOS based upon family, and therefore we are not outside the window. We are trying to just be patient, but it is difficult. Hang in there.

You are right. But I am really confused though USCIS said "one case is different from the other". However, my wifes' friend who also came here in California, have K1 fiancee visa too. Her friend entered California August 2009. Of course they got married within 90 days. She filed or applied I-485 AOS and EAD on March 2010. She got her biometric scan on the following month. She was given a notice of approval on her greencard the next month (May 2010) and She got her greencard the other month, June 2010. Without having been interviewed.

Well, you are right its really difficult. Just keep on waiting without knowing what has been going on. Though we are not really in rush but at least anybody can tell us in the office what has been going on or is the papers on the progress. Because as they say it would be a 6 months processing time but our case is over due the processing time. I am frustrated!!!

  10. My wife came here in California on July 16, 2009 as K1 Fiancee Visa. Married within 90 days.

Then prepare the papers for I-485 AOS.

November 26 2009, filed I-485 AOS and EAD at the same time.

Received receipts and appointment for biometric scan on Dec. 1, 2009.

She had biometric scan on Dec 24, 2009.

On Dec. 9, 2009, received letter from USCIS, Notice of Transfer that AOS will be transfered in Laguna Niguel, CA. She received her EAD Card on the Feb 1, 2010. Then it stops. No communication from the USCIS, no letters, no appointment letter for interview.

WE are waiting for her I-485 AOS, interview or greencard. What are we going to do now? We keep calling 1-800 USCIS, also we've been to the field office to follow up but all they say is to wait within 45 days and do the follow up again. We even asked the USCIS field office if there is any discrepancies of the papers and they said theres none. We are now confused. How long are we going to wait? How long is the waiting period? Should we not do anything now since we've been to the field office and call 1-800 many times too and still got the same answer. Please advise. Thank you.

  11. I use to live on the east coast in connecticut and massachussetts .

I moved out here to california oct 1982 and have been here ever since.

I love it here for only 45 mins north of where I live, I can be in the mountains and snow

and about 30 mins going south to the many beaches at the pacific ocean.

How many places can one go to ski in the mountains and to the beach all in the same day???

Yes we have earth quakes and occasionally a tornado but we do not have Hurricanes or a lot

    of Tornadoes.

This is why so so many people of all races move or want to come here is because of the weather.

I will soon be married to my beautiful filipina fianc'ee and she cannot wait to be with me and living in california

  12. After few years living in the city on the east coast, I have this desire has been arisen moving to somewhere like a country side and specifically beach area somewhere like in california with all the nature and nice sunny weather. I even listen that song "california dream" everyday.I really want to know what it's like to live there. is it really a paradise for immigrants? just a random thought..
