Does any one here have the latest process for IR-1/CR-1 for Islamabad embassy? The process that we know of and is in the link in my signature is pretty old and I would like to update it with the new process.....will really appreciate the update on the process....Thanks!!

well wanted to stop in and say. Sister Fatimah Mary how is it going??
Of course immigration lost his paperwork for citizenship last october. However did gind it and Manzar has testing and interview for citizen ship on May 27th Alhamdullilah its almost over.
Marraige doing fine after all its Pakistani-Gori !!! Hooray for diverse marriages. bridging gaps, building understanding!!
Since then he has became top seller , and has started a business with a friend which Alhamdullilah is up to 3 warehouses. WOW
We are selling this house of soo many yrs and moving to North of Philadelphia for a few yrs, and transfer different places around country to set up same business. Which is great for me if i want to continue my healthcare career.
My parents which I was taking care of sadly passed away, two weeks apart in December.

I have reached USA on Oct 17 with the blessings of God & ur best wishes.
I wanna share my POE experience with u guys.
My POE was JFK.
At JFK immigration officer asked abt envelope and i gave it to him.Unfortunately envelope was not in good shape as i got it from embassy.he asked did u open it? I said no.then he sent me to counter#2.there were so many ppl who were waiting for the completion of their immigration.There was another officer took my passport and see it and send me another room.Actually my name got hit in their data base,i have a common name.They took approx. 40mins and they cleared me.The whole process took approx 2 hours.
The immigration process at JFK was not up to the mark only few officers were dealing with so many ppl.I did not find it good at JFK.
I got my connecting flight for florida and i reached here safe & sound.
I called social security yesterday and the officer told me over the phone that i will have to come and apply for it.

My wife is us citizen. she wants to apply i-130 for her mom. her dad passed away. neither her mom nor my wife have any birth cerificate. my wife was born in karachi. her mom was born in india.does any one knows where affadavit is made in karachi. does any one has any sample. please help me. you can e mail me. thanks

You should be able to send someone to the city court....they have quite a few people there who can make the affidavit.....

Hi ..its been along time since I have answered questions relating to this visa stuff. if you want to ask a question I will try my best to point you in the right direction. I will give you a quick brife of our case.
we had been on AP for like 3 1/2 years. we have been throught everything the USCIS can put a person under, I finally gave up the whole thing. I am here to offer support and encouragement.
hey guys im very worried now i actually talk to a friend of my friend who applied for k1 visa also and after 6months of waiting his finance had her interview in the interview gori interviewer asked her at end of interview "have you been niked (nikha) yet, fiancé answered NO! (Which is true) then the interviewer said it is very unusual for an unmarried Pakistani girl to be sent to USA with a man without been niked or married, so for that reason case is denied and go back and file for K3 visa.
Does anyone know of any cases like this and how to answer that question, also are there any site where there are list of questions they ask at interview.
Please help im very very worried now.

Anyway, just a little heads up for some ppl:
We've had minimal evidence submitted (no deed, rental agreement or so), but strong financial ties (bank account, loans, property co-mingled). We also don't have kids. I know I was still nervous till the end that we'd see another roadblock with an RFE sailing in, but obviously they just had the approval stamp ready today. lol

I wanted to chime in for this as well. I just send them the birth Certificates of our daughters, current lease for the appartment with my name on it, electic bill with my wife's name on it and Tax documents. Since I had to submit everything just 2 days before the time was up I didnt send them much and got approved with it although I was ready for an RFE.

Yes to both. If you came on a K-1, you can apply 90 days before your 3 year mark of your PR status (we did). You should also do the InfoPass appointment to get your passport stamped to extend the extension another year (we are next week).

so the next theory - they pick up a stack - if it's lighter in weight, they decide to go through it. if it's not, they put it aside. that is the only theory i can come up with for now!
Actually they did at some capacity went thru our files when almost all of us were touched on 2/25
I guess it wouldn't be that difficult to determine from just looking at a petition for 15-20 seconds or so whether it had a birth certificate attached . . . but then again, I think we're talking about 12,000 petitions that were transfered.

Thanks everyone. I hate the fact that there are people who applied before me and didnt get their approvals but at the very least they are wokring on our applications and I m sure everyone who got transfered to VSC will see approvals very soon.

Now I m thinking that there might be some truth on the alphabetical sorting of our applications since my wife's last name starts with an A.

I'm wondering if gatorlink's last name begins with an "A" . . . maybe they're doing it in alphabetical order (hence all the touching and sorting they did after the cases were received at VSC).
My last name does start with "An" I really doubt that they sorted them alphabetically though. Just doesnt seem logical.....but we are talking about the USCIS.
Interesting... but I would think that's just coincidental.
I'm not so sure, and I certainly hope not. But, as gatorlink says, we are after all talking about CIS. And other than perhaps having shuffled all of our cases like a deck of cards, I can't think of another reason for VSC to first approve someone who is smack dab in the middle of the pack chronologically speaking.
Does anyone else here have a last name beginning with "A"? (Or "B" or "C" maybe, just so we can test out this little theory in the weeks ahead?)
yup...my wife's last name starts with "AS" Dont think USCIS does anything that has a logical explanation.

With all due respect to the couples that have children, I don't think having kids makes a difference to USCIS in the realm of removing conditions as a precursor to a valid marriage.

if you don't think it makes a difference, why would they bother asking for it... Really,this whole subject is ridiculous.
We're not saying it counts AGAINST people who don't have children together, but it certainly DOES help couples who DO have kids.
I hear what you are saying, I really do.....but it's the "I have a kid so it should only take a minute to approve me / I automatically have a slam dunk case" sentiments being expressed in this forum that could possibly be rubbing some childless people the wrong way, myself being one of them.
Kids are no slam dunk, ace in the hole - I've seen people with kids get RFEs because there is still doubt. As it is, my husband and I don't have any kids - maybe someday, but we're unable to right now - no RFEs - and we got approved. The strength of our application was in our financial documents. Furthermore, if you look on this site, there are not only young couples who don't have children, but there are quite a few kickin' senior VJrs that aren't going to have any children together.
All we can do here is present what we think. What USCIS does or does not do is beyond us. Please dont make it a competetion of having kids or not having them. All that matters is that all of us are in the same boat as the other wheather we have kids or not.

hey james - thanks for updating me - i hadn't checked up on vj or the uscis site in a week or two - and yes, i was infact touched on 2/25.
i am about, what - 10 days away from a full year since we applied! this is madness.
oh well, all is well that ends well. let's see how much longer they drag us. any bets?
If I were a betting man, I would probably go the logical route and guess that the March 1 processing time is now more or less accurate, and people (at least us bulk transfers) will be approved about a year after our filing dates.
How long can it take an adjudicator to look at an individual file and decide it should be approved? I can't imagine it taking more than a half-hour tops, and less with certain other cases (like 5 mins. for people like Joel and me who have kids). There should be no FBI name/background check holdup because they're now allowed to approve petitions that have been in the system for more than six months even if that check hasn't been done.
we have a daughter as well - so add me to that 5 minute approval time frame! ;-)

Thanks for answering. What else is needed by the NVC with DS-230 submission.
Do I need to submit only the DS-230 Part 1 or do I have to submit the other documents such as:
- Passport size pictures
- Marriage certificate
- Birth certificate
- etc.
Are you saying that the DS-230 is received from the embassy in Pakistan with Packet 3.5 when the file is completed by NVC, and the agent in the US does not have to submit this form to NVC prior to file going to Pakistan. Is that correct?Thanks

It's mailed from the NVC in the U.S to Pakistan.
Its actually needed 2 times. DS-230 Part I One from the NVC to the agents address and back and then when the beneficiary receives packet 3.5 from the embassy they have to fill out the DS-230 part I and II without the signature (which has to be signed in front of the CO).

Dont know if anything has changed since I went thru this but for NVC DS-230 you would need DS-230 part I and a copy of the biographic page of the beneficiary's passport.

me , moben, kn687, kalstravels, tweety, and Angel7422. I'm sure everyone else will get the "received at VSC" email as well today or shortly. The last updated date on the case status service page says 2/14 despite the fact we received the email yesterday (kind of like with the initial transfer email being received 1/31 but the last updated date for that showing up as 2/1), so I'm recording 2/14 as the last touch dates.
