  1. hello everyone....Is there anybody here who has a late registered birth certificate (NSO)? Is this a big problem during the interview? or do they ask any additional documents? I wanna know if there is somebody here in VJ who has also same case with mine, during your interview did the CO ask you why your birth certificate is late registered? need answers.... (btw, we are filing for IR1).thanks

No, it wont be a problem. Just give a brief answer why you're late registered. The reason's written at the 2nd page of the bc. Just give that same answer. Dont elaborate more coz it might be the reason why they'll gonna ask u for more. Just bring your diploma, yearbook or any id's just in case they would ask for further identification of you. I was late registered too and the consul asked me abt it and i jst told him same reason i read at the 2nd page of bc. Got my pink slip after that. Goodluck on ur interview!

  2. i have my conditional 2yrs GC, is it ok to travel already outside US? jst arrived here a mnth ago and now im going out again coz i want to see my sick mom. Just worried if there wnt be any problem when i go back in the US. Is there any papers i have to sign before i leave? Or the GC is enough already? I will only be out of the US for a month or less.

And also, i still dnt have my SSN. How long would they send that to us in the mail? we went to their office a week after we arrived in the US and applied but they said no need and jst wait for the ssn to be mailed to us in 3 weeks or a month. But it's past 1 month now and we still dnt have it. Do we have to go to their office and apply again?

    Thanks for future replies..

  4. im worried where i put my jewelries. isnt it dangerous to put in my checked in baggage? or should i hand carry it? i have 5 gold rings and 3 bracelets and 3 necklaces. is it ok for hand carry? or for check in? wont it be a problem bringing too much jewelries?

  5. can we bring lotion, shampoo and perfumes? I have like 4boxes of diff perfumes with me, wonder if it wont be a problem. Are they going to check what's inside our bag? like they really open it up and check carefully what are the things we packed inside?

  6.
what are the docs/papers that we have to hand-carry during our trip to US that the immigration would ask from us? Do we still need those papers or proofs we presented during our embassy interview? Can't decide whether to bring it with me or not in case needed p pla un for future use. Hope to hear answers from u good fellow VJ members

Only important docs you have to hand carry is the brown/yellow envelope from the Embassy. And your visa/passport of course with the CFO certificate and sticker. I also brought with me all the docs presented at the interview, but I put it in my checked in luggage. Goodluck.

  8. i've heard for those of us who did sputum here in our country, that we're going to have another sputum tests when we arrive in the US. Is this true? Won't it be a problem at the airport of our POE since they stamp it on our passport with class a or b (tb). would it slow down our entry to the US or would they asks us to do 2nd tests?

  9. don't buy ticket yet unless u have ur visa already. mine was so fast, was approved on a monday, got txt from air 21 the following day, received my visa the nxt day. Goodluck on ur interview.

  10. had our interview on the 1st of June, i cant say it goes easy but at least in the end, we got approved! The pre-screener on window 15 is really nice, she asked for all our records,(chat logs, emails, cards, pics, remittances) so make sure u have it all ready. She asked my kids more than she asked me  Some questions i cud remember: When and how i met my hubby, what's his work, his address, how many times he visits, what are the dates, the last time i saw him, how old is he, our age gap, and when did we get married. For my kids, she asked their names, how old, their birthday, what they want to be in the future, what they gonna bring to petitioner when they get to US, what they receive from him, if the younger one quarrel with the elder sibling, or the other way around (my kids answered they dnt quarrel coz they love each other. the pre-screener had a good laugh and said i have very good kids hehe). During our consul interview (window 27), kids were only asked of their names and birthday, I was asked same questions earlier, and my hubby's interest and hobbies. He asked me a lot how come i had my elder child birth late registered. He didnt look convince with the bc and baptismal so he keep on asking me about it. Wanna make sure if its really my child. He kept on calling someone on fone, dunno why, and have frowning face all the time looking at our papers (dunno why again). He said if its really my child, how many hours i had labor, what's his weight, time i give birth, how old i was when i gave birth ( EVERYONE OUT THERE WHO HAVE KIDS THAT ARE LATE REGISTERD, make sure u do remember all the info on bc coz they'll gonna ask u for that (if we have the same consul i guess). its ur own child i know but sometimes cnt help to forget some info like weight and time of birth since it was years ago already. He even asked me if i didnt use other name, (maybe my name sounds like the same with someone else or whatever). After a lot of interrogations about my eldest, he told me in the end our petition is approve. WHEW! Received txt from air21 the following day, saying they got our visa docs and on its way to its final destination. THANK GOD!

tips to all mom: make sure u remember all ur kids info on bc, esp if its late reg. And dnt forget to bring baptismal cert and ur child's pics with u when they were still infant or some baptismal pics. i was asked for that as well.

Thanks to all VJ members who helped me a lot with this journey. Without ur help and infos, i know i wnt make it right. For all those who answered all my queries, thank you guys a lot. i owe u much thanks. For those who will have their interview soon, just be prepared and be confident u can pass. And of course, dnt forget our best weapon: LOTS OF PRAYERS!
