@ Ij 1999, in fact your spouse can go with you and wait in the first floor area but can't go to the 2nd floor where the interview takes place. He just waited outside because the place was packed (It's where infopass appointments are handled) so maybe on your date, it'll be possible to wait inside?

@ Bianca, yeah, I did make up for the wait for the IL by getting a close oath ceremony, at least one advantage of being in NYC B) hope you have a great ceremony as well. Are you taking your little angel?

I'm assuming that you are a US Citizen so yes, in the I-130 for your brother, you would list his wife and 2 children and pay only 1 fee ($355).

I am going to file I 130 for my sister and brother.My sister is single and 40 years old. My brother married and they have 2 children.Two children are 2 and 3 years old.

I have a quick question here. Can i file I 130 for my brother . I mean for all his family. (wife and 2 child??).

Hi all.

My Oath ceremony was on Friday . I was working , and i was careless not to read the Oath letter 's instruction

I came there 20'before the Oath. The IO thrown me out because i was wearing Jean and Black T shirt.

(Hell' I see people go to the airport and the theater, wearing pajamas and dirty clothe, I thought jeans

and a t-shirt were fancy and more than appropriate attire for the occasion.)

Thank God that there is one of Super Wall-mart nearby so i could go to remedy the situation.

Just want to share with all of you . Do not make a mistake like me so you will be miss the Oath.

I am also coming up for interview at the end of the month at the Durham office. Same day as Raleighn400. It seems that there are no major problems at RDU. Great. I am curious to know when you will be scheduled for the oath ceremony. Should be soon now.

Hi all.

My interview was at 9:30. I arrived there at 8:45 . After pass security door , I asked the police where i can apply the letter. He told me : Window 9. I walked to the window and saw the lady was there. I thought she is a receiptionist and handed her my letterand looked for seat. But she came out from the other door and called my name.

Shed went over my applicatiion just few questions>

- Do you want to change your name?

- When was you born and where?

- Where do you live and my SS ?

- Have u ever dranker , drug or....pros....?

- What is your phone number?

Writing:

The people elect Congress.

Reading:

Who elect the Congress?

Civic question:

- Who wrote the Declaration of independence?

- Name 3 original states?

- State border to Mexico?

- What is potilical party of president now?

- Who is commander in chief of themilitary?.

- Two political party in The United States?

The she asked me which oath i want to take ? This week or next week.

This week. I replied.

All took me 10 minutes and wait for 20 to receive the oath letter .

The only thing i could say that i was lucky , I did not wait too long

Nothing to worry about but for documentation purposes better to get an I-551 stamp on your passport. Make sure your passport is not expired or expiring. That stamp is useful for renewing drivers license and other documentation requirements. Also, on the 13th month after filing send a letter to the ombudsman. find one of my posts under DNALERI, it has info on how to reach ombudsman. I got my green card after writing to the ombudsman for help. We waited 16 months.

On March 5, my case was transfered from VSC to CSC. Today, I received email from CRIS with the following statement. Thought it was weird. I hope they's start sending approvals soon.

My case got transferred on the 02-25-2009 and it says exactly the same thing as yours so i wouldnt take i to mean anything,hope you get approved soon.

Thanks you all, I hope to got an approval email/notice sooner than later. Can't wait this condition removal journey to be over. It's totally a torture.

Just listen to the breaking news on CNN.

A lone gunman began shooting Friday in an immigration services building in Binghamton, New York, killing at least four people, a law enforcement source close to the situation said.

Armed law enforcement officers gather at the scene of Friday's shootings in Binghamton, New York.

The source said more than a dozen were wounded.

Police on the scene told CNN affiliate WBNG-TV that up to 12 people were killed in the shooting.

Two people were seen being led from the building in plastic handcuffs, WBNG reported. It was not immediately known whether the two were under arrest.

A man began shooting in the American Civic Association, which helps immigrants and refugees, the source said.

The source said there may have been 20 to 40 people taken hostage.

The local newspaper, the Press & Sun-Bulletin, said on its Web site that at least four people were shot and 41 people had been taken hostage.

It said sharpshooters from the city's SWAT team were poised outside the building.

The Press & Sun-Bulletin said about 10 people came out of the building shortly after noon. They emerged with their hands on their heads. The police searched some of them, the newspaper reported.

Around 12:40 p.m., another 10 -- clad in white sheets -- came out of the rear of the building, the newspaper said.

Frank Rozboril, a spokesman for Our Lady of Lourdes Memorial Hospital, which is in the city, said the hospital had one person who had been at the association in the emergency room. Rozboril said the patient, who arrived around 12:30 p.m., was being assessed.

FBI spokesman Richard Kolko said the FBI is sending hostage negotiators and an evidence response team to the scene. The agency has an office in Binghamton, and agents are being sent from offices in Albany and Syracuse as well.

The newspaper said the incident began around 10:30 a.m. ET. Nearby apartments were being evacuated and Binghamton High School is on lockdown, it said.

"Within minutes [the situation] turned into one just flooded with police," Bob Joseph, news director of WNBF Radio, told CNN.

The American Civic Association helps immigrants and refugees with a number of issues, including personal counseling, resettlement, citizenship and reunification, and provides interpreters and translators, according to a United Way of Broome County Web site, which is affiliated with the association.

Rashidun Haque, who owns a nearby convenience store, said police had him and his four customers stay inside and away from the windows.

"I'm really shaky because this kind of thing -- it's a small city, it's a beautiful city -- but nothing goes down serious like this," Haque said. Watch store owner describe police 'flooding the streets' »

He said the Civic Association building is about a two-minute walk from downtown.

New York Gov. David Paterson issued a statement saying it was "a tragic day for New York." He said he had directed state police to assist the Binghamton Police Department. "I speak for all of New York when I offer my prayers for the victims and families of this tragedy," Paterson said.

Thank you so much everyone. I called the 1-800 number and talked to a person. He told me that if I didn't receive the letter before my extension letter expired before 30 days, I should call Infopass. That was the only thing he said he could tell me. Still, thanks everyone and keep hope!
