  1. HAPPY DIWALI Everyone! :)(L)

I would like to Wish you all a Happy Diwali as well as share my favorite Diwali quotes! Please share your favorite's too!

"May you all attain full inner illumination! May the supreme light of lights enlighten your understanding! May you all attain the inexhaustible spiritual wealth of the Self! May you all prosper gloriously on the material as well as spiritual planes!"

"Let this diwali burn all your bad times and enter you in good times!"

What the hell does this have to do with K1 Visas?

  2. K-1 visa is for couples who plan on marrying in the US and having the beneficiary become a US resident. Since that is not your intention, why would you file a petition which will cost you hundreds of dollars to file and pursue if you don't intend on following it through?

I'd focus on having your fiance build as many ties to his home country as he can. It is about showing the CO why your fiance HAS to return to his country, not reasons for visiting the US

    Good luck

Thanks for your quick response but as we are not living in my fiance's home country I don't know how to make ties there. His family owns a restaurant...if they put that in his name will this help?

"Ties to his home country"seem to be children (which we don't have yet), a house which we can't afford yet, a great job, which he'll have to be with for at least 5 years...We are young and don't have our lives all set up yet...which I actually like we can travel more easily. But getting him to meet my family is becoming really difficult and upsetting experience  . One day we might want to reside in the USA but like I said we are young and enjoying our youth.

(The K1 visa is 455 dollars and the tourist is like 256) 200 bucks to relieve our suffering is worth it.

K1 is at least about $2000 once you factor in everything else, You have to adjust your status once you're married , and that's $1010 alone.

  3. Hello,

We did not pass our first interview for a K1 visa and our case was sent back to the USCIS. After almost one year our case has been re-affirmed and we have received once again Packet 3 from the HCMC. I was wondering if anyone can shed some light on what the chances are of passing a second interview once your case has been re-affirmed. Does it get easier or will we expect the same treatment as we received in our first interview.

    Robert & Mai

I'd expect and hope you get the same treatment. I'm assuming you know why you were denied the first time round? Use this knowledge to assist you 2nd time round. I don't see any reason why things would easier for you. What reason you do expect special treatment?

  4. i need to know total amount of dollars i will need {minus airfare} to complete K1 visa to my girl from the Philippines who will come to the states. I know all the forms i need to fill out for me and her but get confused on the amount i need to complete these forms including the medical she must take. Please help!!

With no lawyer around $2,000 will not be far from the total.

Yep, I was about to say around the 2k mark as well  That's what I'm saving up before I even start anyway... anything else is a bonus (or goes towards a big truck when I arrive in the US )

  5. Do you know if she can come for 2 weeks on a fiancee visa?

    Welcome back...

Can you be more clear about your question? (Do you mean 'Can your fiancé come to visit while waiting for the K-1 Visa?')

I thought she needed a K-1 before she came here.

I think you seriously need to read the guides at the top of the page before you go any further!!!! Sounds like you're confused on the whole process. Take some time out and do some research/reading before going any further and getting yourself into trouble. Knowledge is power!!

I am confused. I paid someone to do it for me, now I can't reach him.

You paid someone to do WHAT for you? Do you have a K1 Visa already? I'm guessing you don't. What exactly have you paid for?

A K1 Fiance Visa is a single entry visa - which means you can only use ONCE to enter the US, and then you have to marry within 90 days. If you don't marry, you HAVE to leave.

  7. Anybody know someone I can trust, to do K-1 visa for me?

You're a little vague. Are you talking about finding a lawyer to do it for you?

Unless you have a complicated case (such as a criminal history, been deported etc) then do it yourself!!

Follow the guides on here, and do a few weeks of research online and learn about the process yourself. It's not as hard as it seems once you've read up on it.

Take each step at a time

  8. Hello Everyone,

This topic has been bothering me and my family for quite a while now. We helped my mother in law obtain a tourist visa by paying a tourist agency help her obtain it. She got approved with a 10 year multiple entry visa last year. We were so excited because she said that she will help us by babysitting our toddler daughter. She stayed with us for almost six months. During her stay she acted strange by saying that she is always dizzy and have diabetes and pains in her body and always just stared straight blank at us. But, when we say to go to the doctor, she would refuse and she actually did not get sick the whole time she was with us and ate a lot of sweets (even thought she claimed she has diabetes, but we never saw her take the blood test that we bought for her). She also broke our desktop twice, so we told her to just use tha laptop. We knew that she liked to chat with friends and she said that she is happy with just doing that. Her husband died 5 years ago and liked to meet people. She said that they are just friendly chats.

Around a month before she needs to leave the US, we noticed that our things started to diasapper. We also noticed that when we ask her if she saw any of the items, she would say I have never seen them. After 1-2 days, the items that we asked starts to reappear in the most obvious places that we already looked before. Even my daughter and sisters coins also disappered. She sent 2 boxes to her homecountry 1 week before she left and she was so concious for us not to look inside them.

We were already trying to be obvious with her that we know that she was stealing from us, but she still continued with what she was doing until her flight. I also noticed that she is not comfortable when I use my laptop (which she uses for chats) and would always be sitting beside me when I use it. When she left, we started using the laptop regularly and when we turn it on, we saw all her chat archives in there. We read very graphic XXX sexually explicit things. She was having cybersex with several men online and was sending our pictures (including my daughter) to those maniacs. She also mentioned that she wanted to hurt my daughter when we were not there. She also was masterbating with the men showing their private parts while my daughter was watching TV beside her. We got really MAD!!!! She was also gossiping about our whole family to strangers online and telling our complete names to them. She also dated a guy which we found out that she was having sex with when they go out. She also mentions his name and all the things that they did in bed to her online chatmates.

We were releaved that she is out of the country, but she is trying to get back here and is planning to be back next year. She plans to work illegally for the duration of her tourist stay as a caregiver to old people. I am afraid that she will bother us again and also steal and hurt the people that she will stay with or work for especially the helpless old people. She is psycho and pretends to be a kind, sickly and helpless old woman (57 yrs old) as her front. She is very good at it that is why she fooled all of us, including his son for all these years.

Can you please give me suggestions on how we can prevent her from coming back to the US and victimizing us or other people? I wanted her tourist visa to be revoked so she can no longer be a threat.

    Thank you.

As for the XXX email/chat log... I'm sure if you looked at random selection of laptops there would be a large percentage with that kinda stuff on there. You say she "...dated a guy which we found out that she was having sex with when they go out" I don't see the problem with that?! That's normal isn't it? That's what people who date, do!

BUT.... that said... "She also mentioned that she wanted to hurt my daughter when we were not there" This sentence ALONE warrants her to NEVER be allowed in your house EVER again!!!!

Not much you can do about her Visa, but what you can do is report her for working illegally when you find out where/what it is she'll be doing. Gather some evidence, and report her!! Then let her be deported and banned. Another idea is actually report her to the police for stealing. I'm only guessing but I'd think that stealing/breaking the law while on a visitors visa might result in having it revoked... eventually.

I'd be concerned about her giving out your names too. I'd change any passwords you have on any computers you have, and make a point in double checking your bank statements and things like that.

    Hope this helps!!

  10. hi y all. does our e mails need to be translated. and they need to be long? thanks in advance

Yes, translate them, otherwise they won't have the slightest clue what they are. You don't have to include thousands of emails though... just maybe a a handful for each month. From what I hear they're often not even looked at, but I guess that all depends on your other supporting evidence and the mood of your CO on the day.

As for the length of them... ummm... I wouldn't have thought that would matter too much as long as they constitute a 'conversation'

  11. Question to add to this since it's about an engagment ring. Does it help your case when she has a ring on her finger? Because I won't be able to go with her to the interview or see her until she can come here. I did get her a nice ring cause it was a long time planning thing since we been seeing each other since 2006 summer.

They'll be checking paperwork, not your fingers!!

If it REALLY worries you (and it shouldn't) then buy a cheap £1.99 ring and wear it. Engagement rings don't have to be expensive, glittery and have a rock the size of a small football (although women tell me different  )

  12. I am married for 2 years and half with a US citizen, we filed all the forms for immigration, my I 485 was denied because I left the country without I 512 and reentered with a tourist visa had before (I am in removal proceedings).

My lawyer told me I need to refile all the forms to be legal again, and he said, if I refile, can have my work permit in 30 days and my green card in 90 days.

Now, my husband is abusing me mentally, des not want to sign the I 864, if h does not sign it will be deported.

What should I do, can he be enforced to sign it somehow? Please somebody help me.

You can't force someone to sign a document. Why do you want to stay with your husband anyway if he's mentally abusing you?

  13. Hi again!

I am looking at question 11 of I-129F petition for K-1 fiancé visa.

    11) Have you ever filed for this or any other alien fiancé(e) or husband/wife before?

My fiancée filed a visa petition for her alien husband over twelve years ago. They have since divorced and now she is filing a petition for me. The trouble is she cannot remember exactly the date she filed for her alien husband and she does not know the A#. Is there a way for her to find this out? Or would an approximate date and an explanation that she does not know the A# suffice for purposes of the application?

Thanks in advance for your responses :star:

Could she ask the ex-hubby? Do they still talk? He might have a record of such information.

If not, I'd attached a separate piece of paper stating as much information that she knows about the previous petition. Date, addresses, FULL names with DOB etc

  14. Very interesting responses. Any input is always apprecieated.

The suggestion for downloading bank statements and cancelled checks, if you read the letter it says very clearly and is underlined "the original and a copy of each requested document". An internet download is not an original??

It is also in bold print and underlined All documents must include this period from the date you received your conditional residence to the present time. For #8 it requests utility account statements. I have asked everyone I know and NOBODY keeps utility statements for 3 years!! But right up there in bold letters it says must include!! Then out of curiosity I called the electric company and asked if it was common practice for both names to be on an electric bill. The lady told me it is almost unheard of. That's rubbish! No way it's unheard of! Maybe you got someone on the phone that hadn't been working there for long or something. Anyone with half a brain would do that from day ONE if they knew in time they had to prove they've been cohabiting.

It asks for auto insurance and registration. The car is in my name not her's, they sent the letter to her, my name is not on the letter. Should I take my registration? I went to the insurance company this afternoon. I told them that I needed original documents covering the last three years of my auto insurance. They said they are sorry, but they are not available. Does anybody really keep three year old auto insurance policys??

#5 asks for leases, mortage, warrenty deeds. I was running around trying to obtain rent reciepts for the three year period. This can be very overwhelming, we lived in a motorhome and moved frequently. We just bought a house this year so I have a warenty deed in both our names. But then I noticed it does not ask for rent reciepts, I'm not taking any!! So it asked for warranty deeds and you have them... That's OK then. I don't see the problem?

I'm not sure what I subbmited with the petition and dont have time to research it now. But I do know this is the third/forth time I have submitted our 2006 joint tax return. The second/third time for 2007 return and the second time for the 2008 return.

As far as letters from friends, etc. No place in the appointment letter does it request letters, pictures, boarding documents, school records etc.

I am not trying to be argumentive or put down anybody or there input, I truly appreciate all the help I have recieved here on the forum. This just has me overwhelmed and I find it very frustrating.

If the Federal Goverment made beer it would cost $80 a bottle and taste vile.

Was the appointment letter of any help to anyone?? Jim

Does anybody really keep three year old auto insurance policys?? They do if they're going through a Visa/immigration process and have planned properly!

I have asked everyone I know and NOBODY keeps utility statements for 3 years!! Again... they do if they're going through a Visa/immigration process and have planned properly!

If the Federal Goverment made beer it would cost $80 a bottle and taste vile. Don't blame the Government for your lack of planning. I personally think it's GREAT that they go to lengths to weddle out the fraudsters amongst us. (Don't worry, not suggesting you are one! ). OK, so finding all the documents and jumping through hoops is a royal pain in the asre, but plan ahead, do your research and do it well, and you'll have no problem providing them with any document they require with a big grin on your face. The better you plan, the easier the process

  15. Hi All,

I was wondering what should I do after I received NOA2 (not the official letter yet) on October 9th. What should I be expected to do next?

Sincerely, thank you for all the responses.

(Copied from The Guides) Always baffles me why people don't read these first

What to send to your fiance(e) once the I-129F is approved (Receive NOA2):

    1. A copy of the entire I-129f package (that you made when you sent the petition in) and a copy of information that you sent back due to an RFE (if you received one).

    2. Send all originals of the documentary proof that you submitted for the I-129F to your fiance(e) for their interview at the embassy.

    3. Send an original letter affirming your desire to marry your fiance(e) and your continued support of the K-1 Visa. Sign and date the form. This will be similar to the letter you provided with the I-129F, but dated much closer to the interview (it will have most likely been several months since you submitted your I-129F).

    4. I-134 Affidavit of Support form. Ensure it is signed, with all required supporting evidence. Begin collecting the required information ahead of time, as it can often take several weeks to collect it all.

    5. You will likely need at a minimum (for the above form) two to three of your most recent pay stubs and a signed letter from your employer listing you job title, start date, your salary, and the status (full-time) of your position. Begin collecting these ASAP after your NOA2 arrives. You will also probably want to include other evidence such as your banking information and other assets as required by the I-134. Specifically you will need at least 2 of the 4 options mentioned in Section II-Supporting Evidence of the I-134. See this FAQ for more tips and ueful information on the Affidavit of Support Form.

    6. A copy of the NOA2 that you received in the mail.

    7. Proof of your ongoing relationship. This needs to be taken to the interview! Include photos, travel documents, emails, etc from between the time you filed and present (NOA1 date-now).

Examples: Copies of phone bills, cell phone bills, emails (you can edit personal info with a marker), letters (edit personal info also), stamps on the letters (to document the date they were sent), and other written documentary proof. Provide a reasonable amount; two to four of each type. Pick a range of dates up to and including the present. You can also include a copy of engagement ring receipt (this is something that is a big optional - do not worry if you do not have a ring yet!)

  16. Hello everyone,

I have a small problem I want to ask some information about. I have passed my interview and medical 2 weeks ago and I went out to celebrate with my friends. Also a goodbye since I'll be moving to my fiance in a couple of days.

Now the problem is that I accidently drunk out of someone elses glass (Or he changed out glasses, I don't know), It had drugs in it. I felt really sick and someone asked the guy if it had drugs in it and he admitted it did.

Now I am so afraid, if they'll do a drugstest. and if they do if they'll believe me. So will they? I know this type will be out of my blood in 1 month, I've looked it up.

What can I do? No ambulance, police or any of authority got involved...

There's no reason for them to do another blood test, you've already had it. So you'll be fine!!

IF they did, and IF they found it (which from what others say they wouldn't anyway) there's not a snowballs chance in hell that they'd believe your story though!!

  17. Hello,

I am new to this, as we all were/are i suppose, but i wanted your input to see if i got this correct. I have the following paperwork prepared:

    1. I-129F x 4 copies.

    2. G325A x 4 copies for my info, and 4 copies for Fiancee with signed attachments.

    3. 1 each Passport style photo of both me and fiancee.

    4. Divorce decree from my past endeavor.

    5. Copy of my birth certificate.

    6. A notarized copy of Letters of Intent from both me and fiancee.

    7. $455 Money Order.

Am i forgetting something, or do you see anything wrong? Also, can the copies of the birth cert and divorce decree be copies, and not originals? Don't want to send originals if i do not have to.

Another question i have is in regards to our situation. My fiancee is from the philippines, but lives in Canada. Will this present a delay of any sort? She has easy access to a consulate there, but wanted to ask for sure.

    Thanks!

    1. I-129F x 4 copies.

    2. G325A x 4 copies for my info, and 4 copies for Fiancee with signed attachments.

    3. 1 each Passport style photo of both me and fiancee. (I thought it was 2 of your and your fiance)

    4. Divorce decree from my past endeavor. (I believe u have to send in mariage certificate too with the divorce decree)

    5. Copy of my birth certificate.

    6. A notarized copy of Letters of Intent from both me and fiancee. (I dont think they have to be notarized)

    7. $455 Money Order. (or personal check)

    1. Dont forget a copy of his birth certificate including translation if not in english.

    2. Photo copy everything that your sending or save proof to cd

    4. You could make a cover letter showing a list of everything your sending

    5. Copies of proof of traveling there to meet him in person, plane, train, bus, hotel, luggage tickets.

    6. Chat logs if have any

    7. Email logs if have any

    8. Phone records if have any

Yeah yeah yeah... I know whats coming next... lol Ongoing proof is NOT a requirement when submitting a K1 visa application. However... To me, give it up front and no doubts or questions, or rfe's will be requested later. But this is a perosn opinion and not necessarily based on all the opinions on vj. "Im not a 'know it all but I play on on tv!" lol

  18. First i want to start of by saying thanks to everyone for helping me with all my questions. everyone is great and this is an awesome site.

i filed for the k1 visa on sept 25th. my fiancee is from colombia and she was talking to a friend of hers that received her k1 visa. she was asking all kinds of questions and the women told my fiancee that we might get denied because of 2 reason. one not knowing for very long and the other is meeting on the internet. we met online in april and i went and visited her in sept. my question is do you think they will deny this because of these 2 reasons and if they do what other options do i have. maybe get married in her country and file for a different visa? thanks in advance for all your help

 Meeting online is not a problem in the slightest. Probably more than half the people on here met online. As for not knowing each other for long time, that might cause a few extra questions at the interview, but providing you have plenty of evidence, and can prove everything you tell them you should be fine. just think evidence, evidence, evidence!!! Wherever you go, whatever you do with each other.... EVIDENCE!!!!

No problem, last year I met the girl online in June, and visited her in September and no problem, but she changed her mind at the very end, so I found a new one, and this one I met in July and visited in August.

Nobody can say that you must know someone a certain amount of time or you don't really love them or it's not a real relationship. Online is where you meet now, how else will you meet and how else will you meet someone from another country, I think it's weird if you don't meet someone online and you don't marry someone from another country. We are the superior ones, the ones who love and marry foreigners over the internet. Long live interracial marriage !

I met my Jamaican fiance on vacation in JAMAICA!

Remember, he has never tried Ganja. Not kidding. I Read a heartbreaking Jamaican post about it here not long ago.

So if he has tried ganja, he should lie? :bonk:
