Hi,
I filed for citizenship in dec 2008, but still no interview date.
Today, I received this letter (Yellow color) the subject is ;" case file review/ interview document check list"
is that means I'm going to receive my interview date soon??
when I checked my case online there is no update since dec !!
It means you'll get your IL pretty soon.

Hi guy,
Please tell me what happens to my case, I had citizenship interview at 02-24-09, but unitl now I still receive nothing for the swearing. It is normal? What can I do? I knew someone's interview were later than me, he receives a notice for the swearing, but I do not know he is the same lacation with me.
Thank you so muc for your help!
Yes, it's normal to take up to 1 month or so for the Oath letter especially if they need to check something in your file, for instance if you traveled a lot... I got a friend of mine who waited for 2 months for his Oath letter. Just hang in there & chill.
Good luck!

Do you have to be divorced in order to file the waiver/by yourself to remove conditions or can you just be seperated with a divorce/annulment to follow?
The marriage has to be finalized in order to apply for a waiver. Kathryn is right!

I mailed out on 3/9 and still the check has not been cashed - getting worried....no notices yet either.....perdesi actually got NOA1 in a week i think...thats fast for the same lockbox facility - anyone else?
It's too early to get worried man. I sent mine on 03/03 & haven't received NOA1 yet although they cashed my check last friday. I'm shooting for this week. So, give it at least 10 days to cash your check & get your NOA1.
-
I checked my online banking statement & USCIS cashed my check today. So, hopefully will get NOA1 sometimes next week

I'm adding myself as I've sent my N400 on 03-03-09 to Lewisville, TX Lockbox.

I dont have a middle name, should I leave it blank or write N/A. I heard somewhere that if you do it USCIS will put N/A as your middle name.
I left mine blank as I don't have one. I think it wouldn't matter if you don't have a middle name.

I mailed my husband's to Lewsville, TX on Feb. 23rd & it arrived Feb. 26th - used priority mail with confirmation receipt - we are in Upstate NY.
Best wishes
Hi Upstategirl,
Thanks for your reply. I was wondering because I read some folks sent their application to Vermont, Nebraska... So I got a little worried. Anyway, good luck to your hubby

Hello all,
I've sent my package yesterday priority mail through USPS. They said will take approx. 2 days for delivery. I sent it certified w/ return receipt. I sent it to Lewisville, TX Lockbox because I live in Maryland. Is that correct? I just followed the instructions we have on the guide. I noticed lot of people talking about sending their application to Vermont, Nebraska, TX... Mine wasn't neither one of those. I'm confused!
Thanks,

Hello all- I'm sending out my application next week. I'm just wondering should I fill out the form w/ a pen or type it in? Also, I'm filing based on 5 years of permanent residency, should I include my divorce decree? I was divorced in 2005. So, I will include, complete application, copy of my GC, $675 check to HMS, 2 passport style photos & maybe copy of my divorced decree. Am I missing anything here? Can I just send it normal package through USPS w/ return receipt?
Please let me know.
Thanks guys!

Hi Goran,
Thank you for your input. I looked through my old paper & finally found all my leases so now I know when I moved out/in. Same thing w/ my ex employers I used few old pay checks to see around what time I started but not fore sure so I didn't use an exact date. I hope it won't be a problem. Also, I read in this forum that somebody had a problem, DMV registered him to vote but he didn't do it intentionally, that made me nervous too coz I don't remember ever received a vote registration & I've never voted since I'm not a US Citizen Duhhh I'm being too paranoid right now. How can I make sure I'm not registered to vote? I don't remember what happened when I had my driver's license 9 years ago.
Thank you all.
Thanks,
Hello again, Silvershadow,
I agree that it certainly doesn't hurt to be cautious in this process and make sure all the "ducks" are lined up in a row. Less chance of having to explain stuff once your interview comes around. The less question marks you present to the USCIS, the less questions they will have for you
As for your question about whether you're registered to vote. Here in Virginia, we can go to our state's "State Board of Elections" website. They have a section on their website called "Voter Registration Status," where we can provide some personal information and see whether one is registered. I'm sure your state has something similar.
Cheers,
Goran
Thanks Goran I will try to google that but I'm sure I've never registered to vote but again I'm trying to make sure I have not coz I don't remember what happened 9 years ago when I had my driver's license.
Thank you buddy!

Hello all,
First of, I want to thank everybody for this wonderful website. I'm in the process of filling out my N400 & I do have a question about Part 6 where it says residence & employment information. It asks for mm/dd/yyyy for both my residence & employmet in the last 5 years. I don't remember the exact day & month of my previous jobs. I've had like 3 jobs in the last 5 years. Same thing with my residence I moved like 3 times. Can't find my old leases. Is it a problem if I can't remember the exact day or month? Thanks for any help.
Hello Silvershadow,
I do not know how "stringent" they are on those dates. I know they don't want you to be out of the country more than 6 months at a time, so if you're far from that number, I do not think you have to worry. You just have to state that you can't remember the exact dates, and also state "but it was no more than XXX days, or XX weeks."
Some sources that can aid you in your hunt for dates:
Your state's Department of Motor Vehicles - Ask for your driving record. In Virginia, this document will state your previous addresses and when you moved to new addresses (address request changes to the DMV).
Your credit report - I would recommend pulling your credit report from all three agencies (Experian, Transunion, and Equifax)... They have more information than you know about your previous addresses.
Your passport - You should be able to get dates from departure and arrival stamps.
Airline/Travel Websites - If you purchase your tickets on-line, you may be able to retrieve your travel itineraries within the last couple of years. Some web sites keep longer histories.
Hope this helps.
Cheers,
Goran

Nope...Minnesota is kinda slow sending out oath letters. The last person took 69 days from Interview date till Oath letter arrival.
Silver use the letter that has your number. Call tomorrow and speak with a rep. Or use the letter you have, either way I wouldnt be too worried about it. You registered, you have a letter that states you have registered. You'll be good mate. Good luck with your journey.
Kyngsilva thank you for your reply that made me feel better. Yes, I will call them tomorrow & see if they can verify it for me. Before I forget Congrats for your Citizenship bud!! I hope mine will go smooth.
Thanks,

Check online too.
I did check online. It's not coming up. I have my selective service number on the letter they sent me before.

Hello again,
Sorry I'm getting confused about selective service registration. I searched into my old documents & found the letter from SSS with my name & selective service number & last action date but my card was misplaced I can't find it. I only have the attached portion of the letter that came. (I detached the card but couldn't find it). Now, I called the SSS to verify my registration but automated system couldn't find any records of me when I entered my SSN & Birth date!! I know I have registered because I have my SS number & letter from them dated of 2001. I got my conditional green card back in May 2001. I'm 34 years old now. Is this going to be a problem for my N400??
Thanks,
