  1. YAY :dance::dance: I just want to share the good news with you, today I've received email from CRIS saying:

"Application Type: I765, APPLICATION FOR EMPLOYMENT AUTHORIZATION

    Current Status: Card production ordered.

On Aug 14, 2009, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you. If we need something from you we will contact you. If you move before you receive the card, call customer service. You can also receive automatic e-mail updates as we process your case. Just follow the link below to register."

We are really happy :dance: and can't wait till we receive card in the mail.

Good Luck to everyone who is still waiting!!!

  2. :dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance:

Finally after months of checking my status online they've added my I-485....... and lo and behold as of July 14th my case has been transfered to CSC. No 2.5hr drive each way to Memphis and no harrowing interview.....thank god for that!!!

Cino could you please update the spreadsheet when you've got a mo.....thanks so much.

And Josunbaba congrats to you....and I'm sorry but I pinched you're little countdown thingy coz it was just so so cute :star:

Congrats to you Kim & Chris... its fine, glad that you like it ;)

  3. (EAD processing does not 'start over' but merely is released to continue processing - from what ever stage it was in.)

Attack of the pedantic semantics coming up ;)

Whilst they don't start processing your case over from the beginning, an I-485 RFE can technically 'reset' the 90 day time limit to approve the EAD. That is what USCIS told me when I complained that I was outside the normal processing time.

Looking back at my timeline, I got an I-485 RFE for a problem with the Affidavit a couple of weeks after NOA1. It took maybe a week after the CRIS email telling me that the case was on hold for the RFE to arrive in the mail, another week to sort it out the docs and get the response delivered to USCIS and maybe another 10 days or so for the case status to update to 'case processing resumed'. So the 'on hold' time was a little over three weeks or so. The case processing resumed approximately 5 weeks after the NOA1 date

When the 90 day processing time for the EAD passed (taking into account the days when the case was on hold), I got onto them an initiated a 'service request' (which we all know rarely gets you anywhere fast). When I got the response a few days later, it was a fairly blunt and very short note indicating that my case was not outside normal processing time in their opinion and that the processing time frame for an EAD is 90 days from acceptance or 90 days from receipt of a response to a request for initial evidence, if applicable. I'm paraphrasing a bit there because I don't have the SR response to hand but that was gist of it.

End result: the total wait time for my EAD was 133 days from NOA1 and 'coincidentally' :P just over 90 days from the date that case processing resumed after the RFE.

I totally appreciate that for most people, this doesn't happen - it certainly seems rare to find someone on VJ who waited for their EAD as long as I did but an RFE can reset the 90 day processing time. I'll try and dig out the service request response where USCIS stated so in a bit and post it here...

What follows is nothing more than conjecture but I suspect it has to do with the type of RFE. I had a second one on my I-485 just before the EAD was issued and that one certainly didn't affect the EAD processing beyond putting it on hold until the response was received. However, the first RFE was a request for initial evidence, the second was a request for additional evidence. I wonder if this is what makes the difference, considering that a request for initial evidence would normally be sent within a few weeks of the NOA1 date???

Same here. The customer service agent told me if they request for INITIAL evidence, the process will stop and will start over again after they reccive you evidence. For me, it was a month delay for the EAD and AP.

  4. Two days from now, I will have my biometric appointment in USCIS Orlando Service Center. But the problem is -- the USCIS address in the bio letter is different from what is posted in USCIS website.

    Letter

    Terra Cotta Business Center

    Orlando, FL

    USCIS Website

    6680 Corporate Center Bvld.

    Orlando, FL

I know, I can always call the tollfree to verify (too lazy to wait for the prompts), but I am just wondering if anybody who had their bio appointment at the same service center recetnly? Please share.

I went on 3/13/09 for my Biometrics at Orlando office @ this address:

    5449 S Semoran Blvd

Terra Cotta Business Center, Unit 18C

    Orlando, FL

That was very fast, only took me 25 minutes. I hope this helps.

  6. The immunization form from the medical visit in Brazil (Oct. 08) states that the Td serie is complete.

Today the Civil surgeon said it needs to be Td-ap. Her cost: $65

Did anyone had any issue with Td-ap vs Td?

By the way, the Santa Clara County Dept of Health clinic charges $45 for the immunization ($15 for the vaccine and $30 for a "consultation" fee), with no reduced fee for low-income people. I was reading that some of you are talking about "free" immunizations through their local County. Is this something else? Do you have pointers. please?

    Thank you.

Mine TDap cost me $75 @ the civil surgeon

  7. After waititng for my SSN in the mail for a month, Im now having issues with my adjustment of status. I sent my papers February 11, 2009. They received it February 12, 2009 and today is Febuary 22, 2009 and I just checked my mailbox....and NADA! As in nothing, none, zero mail. To top it off, the two checks haven't been cashed. Im just so frustrated. I called and sent an e-mail to SSA. Nothing. No feed back. It's just so hard. Im beginning to think Im really a favorite in this immigration process. Sigh...
